It was a good episode, Im just wondering how long they can keep this story going? She has to get her son back some time soon, otherwice its just gonna be completely dragged out, and when she does, then what?
Maybe she might uncover a conspiracy behind his son's abduction and therefore might be forced to bring them down and protect her son from danger. I highly doubt her husband is dead, and that her son's abduction has something to do with him, otherwise Sean Bean's participation in the show wouldn't make any sense at all.
I agree the father must have def faked his death. I would hazard a guess that those pic weren't only for surveillance but for him. So it might be evolve into something more. At least I hope so ...
There was an article in the one of the trades (I think the Hollywood Reporter) that was talking about name stars taking projects with the caveat that they only do a small (13 or less vrs 22 or a 5 year contract) number of episodes for a series. The article mentioned that Ashley Judd had only agreed to only 10 episodes (suddenly I'm doubting I'm remembering that number perfectly) This gave me the impression that they were not planning to try and keep this story running for multiple seasons. I hope that impression is correct because I think you're right. If they drag it out too long people will lose interest.
I was very pleased with this episode! the dialogue was handled much better by the actors. action was still badass.
i'm 95% sure her husband is alive. is he kidnapping his son back? or was he kidnapped 10years ago and now they've taken her son to lure her into.... ? if "they" tried to pick a fight with her 10 years ago, why let her continue to think he was dead? why not say we've got him, come get him? I can understand her not pursuing the people who blew him up b/c she focused in on protecting her son, being a good mom and getting out of the business.
Jeancarlo, is he to be trusted? could he have taken out her husband cuz he loves her? is he trying to set up a situation in which he can be her hero? i think it's unlikely but slightly possible.
Is it too cliche' to try to come up with why the C.I.A is behind it? i think so. i think they are going to play the part of the well intentioned, meddlesome, big-toe-gets-in-the-way-of-the-foot force. They really just want her to not cause a national incident but b/c of their redtape and secrecy and aggression, they prolong the situation and in a lot of cause appear to work against her..
anyways, i just enjoy the regular doses of Ashley Judd.
Sean Bean could be strictly flash back character.. i feel it would be a waste of his talent but.. it's possible if he wanted a paycheck but not long hours..
yes! i felt like she should have seen that set up a lot earlier.. and it appears they attempted to explain it as her approaching the situation as a mother not an agent. she was blinded by just wanting her son back, wanting it to be that easy (relatively speaking. trading hard drive wasn't easy for her) to get back. Maybe now that she's resolved to be her old self until finding michael we won't see as many of those wtf are you thinking moments..
I typed that as I was watching so I hadn't hit the 'you're thinking like a mother scene' yet. That said...when I considered it...there are maternal panic issues that would make it imperative to get that hood off first..not the least of which is a sense of panic how frightened he'd be at being hooded.
But you're right...and I'm looking forward to seeing her old self resurface.
I agree. I just finally got around to watching it, and the ending scene transitioning from Hard Drive's reunion with his family to Rebecca's near miss of rescuing her son and the anguish of failing him was gut wrenching... well done scene

ReplyDeleteReally, Becca.. You don't make him lift the hood so you know it's Michael? That's not the first thing you do?
ReplyDeleteThe Hard Drive is not gonna survive this ep.
Oh good. I was wrong. He did survive.
Poor Becca.
