Thank you. They need to stick to it or drop it. If she could really tell when people were lying, that god-awful "Fruit of the Poisonous Tree" episode never would have happened.
I'd totally forgotten about that. I thought it was one of those "dropped after the pilot" things. Like characters getting a new haircut or changing their apartment.
It's not like she couldn't get them herself but she'd need the proper warrant to get them and Sidney is probably offering up those records voluntarily to work one of Regina's agendas.
It's not whether it's literal or intuition. The problem is that they say she has this intuition...but when it's more convenient for the plot for her to be gullible she's completely gullible. Taking the easy way out and dropping periodically is lazy writing IMHO.
And they've done this with Regina in early episodes as well. (warped her character to make a story work)

I need it to be Sunday now!
ReplyDeletePoor David and MM.
ReplyDeleteRegina sucks ¬¬
Oh show, PLEASE stop this thing where Emma can tell who is telling the truth or not when it's plot convenient.
ReplyDeleteThank you. They need to stick to it or drop it. If she could really tell when people were lying, that god-awful "Fruit of the Poisonous Tree" episode never would have happened.
ReplyDeleteWhy doesn't Emma realize Sydney is lying?
ReplyDeleteO_o Some people takes the quotes so serious. It just a way to talk, of course she doesn't have powers, just intuition
ReplyDeleteCan't wait! Every episode is so amazing!
ReplyDeleteI'd totally forgotten about that. I thought it was one of those "dropped after the pilot" things. Like characters getting a new haircut or changing their apartment.
ReplyDeleteYou're absolutely right. It's nice for Emma to have a "superpower", but she has to have it consistently, not just every now and then!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, but maybe the curse "blocks" her special ability when she's in Storybrooke.
ReplyDeleteThat's not the way it has been presented onscreen and that's an odd stance to take on a show that's built around curses, magic, and evil power.
ReplyDeleteWhy is she getting phone records second-hand from a shady ex-journalist? Why wouldn't she get them from the phone company herself?
ReplyDeleteShe cited her ability to tell when people are lying in the "True North" episode when she busted Hansel & Gretel for lying to her, so that can't be it.
ReplyDeleteIt's not like she couldn't get them herself but she'd need the proper warrant to get them and Sidney is probably offering up those records voluntarily to work one of Regina's agendas.
ReplyDeletePossibly to make David look guilty. But the records and anything she discovers based on them isn't admissible, so why do it?
ReplyDeleteLOL. Because she's not a very good sheriff?
ReplyDeleteif she knows when someone is lying, why doesnt she know that sidney is a lying sleazebag.
ReplyDeleteoh good grief...is stupid Emma back? I hope not. I hate it when they dumb her down to make a story work.

Emma's "super power" is working on David. Does it work on Sidney too? I hope so.
ReplyDeleteDaddy daughter time!! LOL
