  1. Jane and a Vegas cocktail waitress? Good thing I have the whole summer to get used to the thought...I just hope she's likeable. I'm fed up with hating his love interests, and Frye and Flynn were both disasters in my book. Would be a nice change to have someone sympathetic for a change...

  2. I agree. I'm okay with Jane getting a love interest but I don't want her to drag the show down. If it's anything like Rigsby's relationship with Sarah then this won't be good at all...

  3. Please let there be a season 8 of Supernatural!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Can't wait for all that's to come at TVD until the end of the season ... but then again, I don't want the season to end. Well well.
And I don't need anything else but the news that the finale episode of this season will be about the car crash her parents died in and she almost died in to know that it'll be absolutely heartbreaking(ly beautiful).

Supernatural. Cas. Oh, the wonderful Cas. Accordning to Misha's imdb page, he'll at least be back on Supernatural for another episode in Supernatural ... are there more to come? I sure hope so. Am I crossing my fingers as hard as I can for him to come back next season? Yes. I so hope he'll be back. And I so hope they'll find a way to get him out of this situation until the show (not the season, but the show) ends. And please let it not be death!

And then The Mentalist. Jane. Actually, I'm more interested in what's going to happen with Grace atm than Jane's love life, but well. A love interest for Jane sounds good, actually. I never liked the plot they developed for him and Kristina. I hope they'll approach this new plot in a better way. That it'll be more believable. I'm sure she there'll be more to her than meets the eye, but I'll remain doubtful until we actually see her.

  5. Misha will be back for two more episodes actually and there's speculation that one of them is the finale..
As for his role in season 8(because there will be a season 8)..He said that he would love to come back and Sera said that the conclusion of his arc this season leaves room for his return..So,you can see where this is going, right?  : )

  6. Cas info is always welcome, but now that he's back, I wanna see Crowley too before the season ends. His last appearance can't be in a Becky episode, right?

    ReplyDelete
  7. That SPN 'spoiler' isn't even a spoiler. It's better to have nothing than to say the have got something and it  TURNS OUT to be nothing. Anyway, Castiel does not need to come back for season 8. Let him be in three episodes this season, but then he can  go for good! When he's finally, permanently gone, I'll be throwing a party!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Don't want to hear about Castiel myself, but CROWLEY! I adore Crowley, and I refuse to believe he's gone for good. He must show up again, he simply must! I mean, he's Crowley, and he with all his awesomeness deserves to come back.

    ReplyDelete
  9. My guess is that we'll see Crowley in the next Cass episode :) I'm betting Crowley will keep on tracking ''Emmanuelle'' and will found out about Cass, which could be the reason of why the boys would go back to the hospital where they left Cass

But that's just a wild guess^^; I could be wrong

  10. No more Castiel! Enough is enough! He doesn't fit anymore he hasn't fit for seasons. Finding ways to shoe horn him has only hurt this show. Show runners you didn't have the guts to out Cass  in Season 4 after all he did instead opting to make Sam the fall guy. Have the guts now after you intended to have him go in early S7 withCass responsible for killing thousands including those close to him and Sam and Dean and his being responsible for  Bobby's death which did not go un noticed by fans.
Showrunners your cowardice in letting Casteil go has been hurting this show since S4 . Put a stop to it permanently .

  11. Of course the King of Hell will be back

    http://www.bleedingcool.com/2012/03/25/crowley-returns-in-supernatural-season-8-shooting-next-week/

    Yeah for Crowley!

Now all I need Bobby back in some from, and Cas as dead as possible without any chance for reappearing in season 8, then Supernatural would be a cool show again.

  12.  I totally second this!
Castiel has overstayed his welcome after Swan Song, and he can't even boost ratings, so get rid of the angel storyline already!!!

    ReplyDelete
  13. He's definitely overstayed his welcome! I only like two angels, Gabriel and Lucifer, and one of those is gone, so.. Anytime the angels decide to vacate the show permanently.... Well, I'm all for it!

    ReplyDelete
  14. It is cowardice... It's like they're afraid of the backlash from Castiel fans if they finally get rid of him for good. Pandering to the fans is never good! It just alienates the rest of us!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Cas has to be back if there's another season. The show's just not the same without him.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I completely agree,Mekina. What would Castiel even do in S8? Unless the show chooses to bring back the Judeo-Christian apocalypse for the third go round. If the show de-powered him and  gave him back recurring regular status he would just be a third wheel. I'd far, far rather have new interesting guest stars appearing for at least several episodes in S8 and I would love to have Jody (Sheriff Mills), "Meg" and Crowley back for at least several episodes as well. Also, what the heck happened to Adam, you know the Winchester's real half-brother? Is he still (his soul, that is) in the Cage with Michael and Lucifer? Is his soul in Heaven?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Meaning no disrespect but more and more of us *don't want* Castiel in S8 and we are growing more vocal about it.

    ReplyDelete
  18.  Of course it's not the same without him! It's better!!!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Everything is better with Crowley.  Scratch that, every show is better with Mark Sheppard.

    ReplyDelete
  20. There's no disrespect in stating your opinion... : )
I don't know,I'm pretty sure that there are still a lot more fans who do want him on the show than ones who don't.
In any case though,it's out of our hands! We'll just have to wait and see!

  21. There's some very interesting and convincing theories going around about what the next or last season of Supernatural might entail, that would basically ensure that Castiel continues to play a prominent role. I hope he does. He's a great character and a lot of people feel he really adds something to the show. :)

    ReplyDelete
  22.  I completely agree.  If every character that someone in the fandom "didn't want" was removed from the show, it would be a pretty empty show.  In the end, the writers have to do with what is best for making this a show people are not going to want to miss.  The reason that Cas should remain isn't because there a large vocal fangroup that's going to stomp their feet if they don't get what they want, or because some fans have threatened not to watch if he's not around.  The reason he should stick around is because he's the most interesting, layered character on the show right now, and there's still a lot of story to tell about him.  I'd be willing to bet if you told a typical fan who is not exposed to the online fandom that Cas is ruining the show, the person would look at you like you're insane.

The argument, "what would he do" makes about as much sense as asking why Sam or Dean should return next year, because what would they do?  Nothing for season 8 has been written for them yet, and their past stories are over.  What would Crowley do if he came back?  The demon/Hell story is over.  What would Meg do?  What would Bobby do?

    ReplyDelete
  23. What you said about the fans who are not exposed to the online fandom is actually spot on...I have friends who simply watch the show whenever it airs over here and the are always surprised to find out about some of the reactions.

Anyway..While I agree with you,I really do understand that some people simply don't like Cas.There are other very popular, beloved characters that I can't stand.
But you know what I would love more than anything. When a decision is made about whether Cas will be in season 8 or not(and I strongly believe that he will be),it'd be great if people got everything out of their system once and then moved on.
Because frankly, hearing about something over and over again is getting kind of tiresome. Not everyone can be happy about every single decision the writers are making.I can't even count the number of times I've read that "the angel arc should have ended in season 5".It didn't,it's done, move on...

Also, yeah, the argument "what would he do" is kind of weird..We're talking about a show called "Supernatural".There are endless possibilities..

    ReplyDelete
  24. There's nothing FOR him to do... If he had his powers still then it would be awful, far too easy. He would just solve all the hunts by himself and the boys would have nothing to do, and if he was powerless he would just be tagging along and serving no purpose.

I would love to see anyone else, any other guest stars coming back. Bobby, Jodie Mills, Meg maybe, especially Crowley! Anyone would do really. Old guest stars, new ones, anyone. And it would be nice to have a little resolution for poor Adam. The last we heard of him was in season 6, and he was still in the cage then... Poor, poor Adam. He doesn't have to come back but couldn't they at least mention him once or something? He had a sucky life, even for a Winchester, and now he's stuck with Michael and Lucifer...

So, in summary, if we get a season 8, no Castiel! Any guest stars will do, new ones or old ones coming back, but not Castiel.

Gosh.  Is being a Cas fan as hard as it looks?

The question isn't what would he do, period.  Sure, you can always make up stuff for him to do.  You can have him move to Greece and open a scooter rental shop where he awkwardly interacts with wacky customers all day, if you like.

When we ask what would he do, we're asking what would he do that would fit in with Sam and Dean's story.  Because the premise so far has been that we're trying to tell their story and that other characters play a part in that story.  The idea has always been that it isn't their story we're telling, it's their story as it relates to Sam and Dean.

Back when the angel story was playing out, Cas was an important storytelling device.  He provided a glimpse into the full character of the 'enemy' of what angels really were, how they got to be that way, what that meant now etc.  Like, how 'man's best friend' allows you to better understand the wolves at your door.  (No, I'm not comparing Cas to a dog.  It was just the only example I could think of of something friendly that shared a lot of traits with something unfriendly.)  He was a physical representation of all that was happening with the angel plotline and either by comparison or contrast, allowed us to understand all the other angels.

Now that no longer has any story value.  What use is understanding angels now?  What use was it last year when Sam and Dean had nothing to do with angels?  His knowledge, his experience no longer has any relevance to their story.  To go into that aspect of him would be a pointless detour towards the purpose of telling Sam and Dean's story.

The only aspect of him that's relevant to his story anymore is his power.  And that's where we run into problems.  We don't want him too powerful b/c then he makes their actions moot.  We don't want him too weak because then you've lost the only remaining relevance he has.

As to the other characters you brought up, I've been asking that about Meg for years.  Never saw the point of her sticking around.

Bobby's role has also been a bone of contention for me because the way they've used him has not been the way I've wanted them to use him.  I always saw him as the big picture guy.  He works on tracking down the big bad, drawing connections that are just too broad for our main characters to get.  There's always a big picture that our heroes, who are too involved with the minutia, can't begin to deal with, so there is always a role for him.  But sadly, in the last two years, they've been using him as all purpose research guy.  And that makes Sam and Dean, who were once complex characters, into just the muscle.

Crowley has relevance because Hell will always continue to exist and they will always keep meddling .  If Castiel could have been relegated to the equivalent ever present Heaven representative, his presence would have made a lot of sense to me.  But they made him too friendly.  He's too involved with Sam and Dean and too different from the other angels, too cut off from them (and really so now).

    ReplyDelete
  27.  Why Greece? Who told you I want him here??? LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  28.  I do so agree with what you say about Sam and Dean  once being complex characters and losing that a little along the way because of all the help they have been getting.

In the early seasons they really knew very little about hunting.
All they had for consultation purposes was their father's journal and the local libraries, but even with their inexperience they managed to do their job, and hunt to hunt they gained more knowledge about the supernatural and how to deal with the various beings.
That was their original story and it has been distorted by too much help.

As for Castiel, in season four he had a purpose, liason between Heaven and the Winchesters.
He was even interesting then because he was a kick-ass soldier, but now he has lost the charisma he had then and I find him dull, not very smart, without initiative and completely superfluous to the Winchester story-line.

  29.   I guess the Impala would be the sole main character as nobody complain about Dean baby. ;-)

    I
remember an interview, early in season four, where Sera said that, as
soon as they watched the castiel entrance in the barn rushes,  they knew
Cas/Misha was going to be a big hit.

(maybe not in those exact words but that was what she meant)

they immediately saw the potential of the character/actor.

:-) That's what happened to the love interest in the first Bourne movie.  And at the end of the movie, the hero went and joined her there.  Think Dean would like Greece?

Then the second movie starts with her getting shot in the head, so you might like it if the story went that way.

I agree with you that we shouldn't go back to completely ignoring heaven and hell.  I think there's a more compelling case to be made for angels to remove themselves from the equation than demons since their primary interest in humans was their role in the apocalypse.  That being out of reach, I'd think it much more plausible (than with demons) that they'd go back to just ignoring people and earth.  Demons, well they came from here, from us.  They're pretty well obsessed with humans.  Also hell isn't all that pleasant a place to retreat to.  So that they wouldn't just fade away makes more sense to me.

Still, heaven shouldn't be completely ignored and  it doesn't seem too far fetched that some of their drama and antics would spill over onto earth.  Last season (this season they're mostly dead from what I can tell), my dream role for the angels was somewhat along the lines of what you described.  I thought they'd be a good source of occasional (1 or 2 a season) chaos.  Some angel, evil or good, would come down to earth and reek havoc, either by some low level (Zach not Lucifer) meanness or some bungled attempt to actually help humans or some inadvertent effect of something that was happening in heaven.  Pretty much Balthazar, but with more varied characters and not uniformly chaos for the fun of it.

Even then though, I wasn't really sure how Cas fit into that.  He'd fraternized a bit too much with the boys.  It seemed unrealistic that he'd just stop by occasionally unless he had something specifically keeping him away, i.e. his own plot. That worked good and well when they were all in the same fight, but unless heaven were directly involved, any future conflict would be Cas fighting  the humans' fight and probably under their direction (It IS their earth.  Who's he to call the shots?) and so it made far less sense for him to just go off and do his own thing while on the same mission.

As for Cas as an advisor, I'd buy that if he'd at all served in that capacity up till this point.  He's never been of any particular use on their hunts or anything other than celestial matters or verses of the bible.  I can't think of  single non-apocalypse monster that he's had information on.  And also if we relegate him to random information spouting guy, then we run into the same problem I had w/ Bobby and all purpose research.  The boys do nothing but serve as the muscle.

As to providing a non human perspective, again, I haven't seen very much of that.  He holds monsters in utter contempt, hardly afresh opinion.  He mostly hangs back on all things human, so no opinion there.  Angels are the only thing he seems to have a notably different perspective on.  And unless we're bringing them back full time...

I like that they brought in Crowley briefly to explain away the lack of demons through most of the season.  I would have liked it if they'd explicitly explained away the angels as well.  I'm  just assuming that the ones that aren't dead are recuperating.  No doubt they'll both come back and play even bigger roles by the end of the season, at which point, glady I won't be around to get irriated.

  34. Cas has his specialties.  Last season he was more useful when it came to biblical plagues (Third Man), heaven's nukes, or the state of Sam's soul.  He has history with Death and Fate, knows more about demons and Hell than the boys do, and probably has more info about the Leviathans that Sam and Dean would find helpful right about now.  Monsters don't seem to be his specialty, but that's probably for the best.  We don't know yet what Sam and Dean will be fighting next year, but it's likely that Cas could advise on some of it.

If Crowley is going to remain around next season, realistically Sam and Dean's team needs to be evened out in terms of power with Crowley.  Crowley hates Sam and Dean and he could squash them in an instant if there's he has no incentive to hold back.  The incentive this year was a little forced (that he believed Sam and Dean could kill Dick), and the situation was more believable when Cas was a threat to Crowley.

I do think it's possible that Cas could go his own way next year.  Things are still strained between him and the boys, and Cas has a lot to make up for in his redemption arc.  Part of what he has to do is make things right with the angels (they looked to him as a leader, and he led them into war and slaughtered them), and I don't see Sam and Dean being involved in that quest.

His different perspective is that he's an angel, not a hunter.  His peers are Fate, Death, and angels.  As an angel, he's used to working for the bigger picture (it used to be destiny), as opposed to worrying a lot about saving an individual.  Good or bad, that adds some balance to the discussions about what is ethical.

  35.  Hate the idea of Dean pairing with Castiel, but might give it a second thought if Castiel would get shot in the head and be gone for good, LOL! OTOH I cannot imagine Dean crying over his BFF/brother/soulmate/love of his life or I don't know what else, so no thanks!
My boys (and my boys are of course the Winchester brothers) are always welcome here though!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Totally agree. You think we're getting a spoiler and all they do is rave about the stupid angel.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I see that as a good thing. I don't need anymore painful reminders of seasons 5 and 6.

    ReplyDelete
  38.  Cool, could you point out the place where  I could read about that?
I do not know if a lot of people think that, but Idefinitively am one of them :-)
Cas being alive at the end of the season would be great.
Having him in season 8 would fill my heart with joy.

  39. Misha has spoiled us. Two pretty boys aren't enough anymore, we need a pretty-angel-boy on top of them    :-D

  40. There isn't one specific place, but check this tag on tumblr: http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/end!verse

Basically, a lot of people are speculating that we could be moving towards the future that was presented to us in episode 5.04 "The End". Remember it was set in 2014. A lot of the current circumstances on the show could explain the state of the characters as presented in that episode. For example, this season, Dean has seemed quite a bit like hardened, cold, 2014!Dean at times. The events of this season, losing Bobby and being first betrayed by Cas and then losing him, could have been the events that started his character down that path. Likewise the experiences that Castiel has had over the last two seasons might be what made him end up being a sort of sad, broken angel in the future. Remember when 2009 Dean asked future!Cas what had happened to him to change him so much. Future Cas simply replied, "Life happened". Also someone pointed out that when we first see Cas again as Emmanuel, and we go inside the house and see Daphne, if you look around, the house is decorated with a lot of asian/buddhist artifacts. Cas's cabin in the 2014!verse is decorated the exact same way. People are even speculating that the Leviathan's "curing cancer" thing could lead to the reemergence of the Croatoan virus that plagued the earth in "The End". People also point out that Sam as Lucifer in the future told Dean that they would always end up "here". Here being the future where they try to kill each other. Some people theorize that Sam's hallucinations, even though he might no longer have them thanks to Castiel, might have driven him insane enough that he might in time actually come to believe that he is Lucifer. Or that Lucifer may take possession of Sam again.

It's a very interesting, if sad theory.
