Captain Jack is back!
John Barrowman, best-known for playing the immortal Jack Harkness on Torchwood, has landed a leading role in ABC's Gilded Lilys pilot from Shonda Rhimes, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.
The project is an upstairs-downstairs look at the opening of the first true luxury hotel built in New York City circa 1895. Barrowman will play Julius Ashford Lily, the golden boy of the prestigious Lily family opening the hotel. He's mama's favorite son, who's very charming, lucky and loose.

Muh!
ReplyDeleteHotel shennanigans aren't my cup of tea.
I'll leave this to the aficionados of the genre
Well, I guess the real news here is that Barrowman isn't busy with a hypothetical Torchwood miniseries... shame.
ReplyDeleteI'd rather see John Barrowman as Jack Harkness is a S5 of Torchwood (only if it went back to the UK and retconned S4) or appear on Doctor Who, I trust Moffat with his character more than I do RTD.
ReplyDeleteStill not sure I want to see this pilot.
Didn't expect this casting but the role seems to suit him.
