Game of Thrones - Season 2 - Stannis Baratheon Character Profile
19 Mar 2012
Game of ThronesHere we have the Stannis Baratheon character profile finally!
We get some great looks at our new leading man, plus better looks at Melisandre and Davos Seasworth as well as the first looks at Salador Saan and Matthos Seaworth! Enjoy.

I originally thought that Cunningham should have been Stannis and Dillane should have been Davos, but after seeing them in promos as we approach Season 2 I can gleefully admit I was wrong!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to love watching those two on screen together in scenes or apart! Wow!
I am not sold on Clarive as Melisandre yet. She does not feel right to me. Maybe it's just how I pictured her? I saw her as more a force of nature you can not avoid. A temptation you know you should avoid, but cannot. Mysterious and seductive - powerful and firey. From what I have seen in the limited clips so far.... D&D's Melisandre is none of those things.
Even her "The Night is dark and full of terrors" line fell VERY flat for me. Oddly I LOVED it when Stephen Dillane as Stannis said it in earlier promos.....
"Stannis will perhaps do anything to get the iron throne."
ReplyDeletePerhaps...?!
Yeah, from the looks I also more expected Cunningham to play Stannis.
ReplyDeleteWe will have to see how Clarice really will portrayal Melisandre in the show. I also had a more ruthless and manipulating picture of her in my mind.
Poor Oliver Ford Davies, first Sio Bibble in The Phantom Menace and now this role as Crassen. lol
Awesome awesome awesome. I love Stannis. Melisandre looks great too, she's more human than I imagined her in the books but that I think that makes her better. Davos is perfect, Matthos and Saan are great and Dragonstone is looking amazing.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing that doesn't make sense to me at the moment is the repeated point that Stannis is the Lord of Light. That is not true. Hope it's just how it's edited. The only thing I hope for now is, teeth grinding...lots of teeth grinding. Stannis FTW
Stannis is a character that has grown on me and I really like how unexpected his storyline becomes in terms of where he ends up in the later books
ReplyDeleteI really liked him aCoK but I fell in love with the character in the third book where he
ReplyDelete*Minor book Spoilers*
Appoints a hand, comes to the aid of certain people.
Screw Winter! Stannis is coming!
Yeah when he did that I was like oh hell yes I love you Stannis!
ReplyDeleteHmm... I disagree to be honest. I had a different feeling of her in the books any way, more human, more like how she seems in this video (it's still only a short piece anyway). The kind of character you describe wouldn't work on screen IMO, or at least not in the Game of Thrones series as it is now anyway...
ReplyDeleteOkay i don't have audio or visual?????
ReplyDeleteIT plays for me, but takes forever to start... just a silent blank white screen for a minute or two then it begins. I have had all kinds of issues with SpringBoard playing videos I uploaded lately. Not sure why.
ReplyDeleteIf it still does not play you can always check out my YT. I have the Game of Thrones videos (at least the ones I have posted on SpoilerTV) posted there in 1080p HD.

Possibly the least liked of the Baratheon bros.... but certainly the best king of the bunch!
ReplyDeleteEven if he is a bit of a fire-whipped puppet at times, that's better than a bitter drunkard or a flighty playboy
Long live the lobster!
I notice that it took awhile to get started the other day with another video, its working but this time it took longer than the last...Thanks for letting me know!
ReplyDeleteDarque is that Your My YT channel or is it just called that?
It's mine... Yes, I'm a bit of an Arrested Development fan. XD
ReplyDeleteEven if I post all Thrones videos.....
Wow Nice Darque! Your always surprising me,one day you will have to tell me how to do things like that! ..Now i have one place, like a libary to watch the clips,i'm sure it will come in handy! Thanks for turning me onto this! :)
