Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, the popular 2008 musical web series starring Neil Patrick Harris as a lonely villain with a PhD in horribleness, may get a sequel in the not-so-distant future, according to co-creator Joss Whedon.

Whedon hopes to start work on the second Dr. Horrible series this summer, which is the soonest the writers and stars will be able to align their schedules.

“We are hard on it. It’s been a really tough year — couple of years — partially, I’m happy to say, because of work,” he said during an interview at SXSW.
