The River‘s Paul Blackthorne has been tapped for a co-starring role in the CW drama pilot Arrow, a modern retelling of the story of DC Comics character Green Arrow.
Also tapped as a guest star (and probably recurring) in Arrow is Law & Order: Criminal Intent alum Jamey Sheridan, who will play Robert Queen, Oliver’s father.

Both Blackthorne and Sheridan are solid, dependable character actors. I'm still not convinced that Arrow will go anywhere but this pilot is gathering a solid cast.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if this means that Paul Blackthorne's character in The River doesn't survive the first season?
ReplyDeleteThis piques my interest.... and makes me more likely to watch the series.
ReplyDeleteBoth actors can be absolutely brilliant in their characters... and even at their worst they are still very entertaining!
I don't think the show will survive the first season.
ReplyDeleteI think the river was dead in the water after the pilot aired. I would not count on a second season.
ReplyDeleteThe CW has hired a top-notch cast for this show. I was not the least bit interested in Arrow before but with Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy and now Paul Blackthorne, I must say that I WILL be tuning in to this show if it gets picked up.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I think you're probably right.
ReplyDeleteYep, can't see the river lasting, shame as its actually starting to pick up a little!
ReplyDeleteDamn it. These guys are so great but I really didn't want to watch this.
ReplyDeleteGreat actors! I was miffy with this pilot before, but I think I'd watch if for the cast alone...
ReplyDeletePaul Blackthorne is very talented actor and outstanding photographer, he ROCKS.Best of Luck Paul.
ReplyDeleteI am getting more and more excited for Arrow, and now that I know Paul Blackthorne is in it, I definitely won’t be missing this one. After seeing him as Harry Dresden, I’m confident he’ll be great as Detective Lance. I was actually just feeling kind of nostalgic for The Dresden Files not long ago—a phenomenon that pretty much always happens after I read one of the novels—so I started to re-watch it on dishonline(dot)com, which is a free streaming site, run by DISH, my employer. Not only does it have a ton of content but a good deal of it is available whether you’re a DISH subscriber or not.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree, Paul Blackthrone was wonderful as Harry Dresden and he will be stunning as Detective Lance, Keep Rocking PB.
