Shane and Andrea are still the only ones who get it... it's us or them. And the worst is, all Rick does is put on hold every action Shane would have done right there, just to end up doing it later. But when it came to the bar, he shot those men without hesitating. He's not better than Shane. He's just slower.
Andrea's thinking is completely nuts. She's thinking that she once was that person (wanting to die instead of enduring death by zombie), so she knows where Beth is coming from. Not so. Andrea was a mature woman at the time, whereas Beth is just a kid, and has family around that loves her. Andrea's recklessness, lack of empathy, and twisted logic is dangerous.
Rick is trying to keep the group's humanity from fragmenting, and seeing that happen in his friend Shane.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

I don't believe it is "Us or Them" I think it is more us AND them. And if we become them, there is no us left.
ReplyDeleteHumanity is essential....
