  1. hes not stepping down in season 5 hes stepping down in season 6 so this really should be season 6 nes hes still very much the showrunner in season 5 this wont go into effect til season 6 and he will still be an executive producer in season 6 ust wont run the writers room

  3. I love Alan Ball, but he is WAY too attached to his characters.

    Start the massacre unnamed-successor.

  4. Loved Alan Ball's work on Six Feet Under but deeply unimpressed by the last 2 seasons of True Blood, sadly this won't have any impact on S5 of TB which I'm sure will continue to be a mess

  5. I liked his work on the first 2, maybe 3 season of Six Feet Under, then the show became a bit difficult to watch sometimes and I had to force myself through certain stretches of episodes. True Blood started off great as well, but I wasn't impressed with the last 2 seasons. Way too many characters, way too many mini plots and hardly a big gripping overall story arc. I won't miss him to be honest.

  6. I am sure that there are enough talented people involved that the show won't suffer... in fact I am hoping things will improve as I agree that there are far too many main characters and pointless plots that seem to be required in order to give those main characters something to do each week.  The show would improve vastly is half of the secondary characters were treated as secondary and were only used when the story requires them... or (dare I say it) even killed off so they are not clogging up Bon Temps each week.

  7. That's NEVER good news when a showrunner leaves a show!
