I kinda do like Karen, but I couldn't possibly find her more un-Marilyn Monroe-esque. On the other hand, I don't care much for Ivy, she's a bit too try-hard but I still think she fits the character better. So, hope the show picks her and keeps Karen around as the understudy or something.
Love Karen, and knowing what Marilyn's measures were, to me she fits the bill WAY better than Ivy to portray her. Marilyn wasn't chubby at ALL She just had big boobs. And face-wise, with make-up and the wig, McPhee looks a lot more like Marilyn than Hilty ever will. Marylin's measures were 37C-23-36 and Katharine’s are: 34C-26-36. Megan’s are: 36-36-39. Basically, Marilyn was even thinner than Katherine in the waist... and same measure on hips. Which just throws Hilty out of it with the measures she has. And as far as attitude, I find McPhee conveys it much better, and in a less heavy-handed way than HIlty. I think the story though will obviously go as Hilty is picked and either McPhee plays YOUNG Marilyn / Norma Jean and Hilty plays Marilyn at the top of the success, or something happens and McPhee replaces Hilty eventually. There's no way they keep one for the whole time in the role.
I think they are going on more than measurements.I am not saying who should be playing Marilyn but you cannot determine who will play her because of said measurements...
That's a great number... I've read that the choice for Marilyn will be made by the end of the second or third ep, and then later on Uma Thurman's character will muddy the mix as a movie star type who wants to play the role as well.... should make for a lot of fun scenes
No, in fact measurements were only a part of what I said. I said that attitude-wise McPhee conveys it much better and in a far less heavy-handed way than Hilty. And that face-wise with a wig on and the right makeup she also looks a lot more like Marilyn than HIlty. So that is the full package. Attitude that is a lot more like Marilyn and looks that are more like her.
Karen character seems so pure and innocent. Which i imagine was the home persona of Marilyn. But as far as the famous persona she doesnt give off that va va va voom aspect.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
