  1. GO Ringer! Not that it matters but I'm glad it's #1 outside the US. And that's a BIG difference between Ringer's ratings and the other shows :D Awesome Canadians!

  2. i think it airs on a small cable network in Canada so probably very small ratings

  3. KABOOM! Ringer is SO GOOD! American, you must be like Canadian :D

  4. isnt going to stop it from being cancelled

    ReplyDelete
  5. Actually, It can be ! Ringer is doing very very very well in UK too and the series brings a lot of money with the international sells !

    I'm optimistic for a Season 2 now :D

    ReplyDelete
  6. well its as + to ringer's benifit vs Hart of Dixie, Secret Circle, Nikita etc.
Secret Circle is actually the worst performing CW series in Itunes, online viewing, Retention and sometimes even in Women demos/Ringer does bad in women demos too.
Hart of Dixie has terrible international sales.

  7. That's amazing.. twice the number for The Vampire Diaries!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Phewww... This settles me a little, I was hoping for a second season and it's looking more likely now. I love it and I'm glad to hear it's doing well in the UK too!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Well, that's a surprise! Doubt it'll help the chances of renewal here though.

  10. Lol!! While I'm glad Ringer is doing well..as a Canadian those stats are funny..and I also can watch every CW show just like the US..cause we get the CW network here!!! And also if those numbers are total viewers they are rather small-there are several million people in Canada!! Just saying the data posted above may not be accurate at all!!

  11. Hart of Dixie does air in Canada, it airs on a cable network called CHCH. Also Supernatural airs as well on the same channel, CHCH.

  12. Where's Supernatural?

    ReplyDelete
  13. There's a good reason for that big difference. Ringer airs on Global, which is one of the heavyweight networks like ABC. All the other shows air on MuchMusic or Space, which are specialty channels you have to subscribe to, like MTV and SciFi in the States. For Global, 500,000 is low. The Vampire Diaries gets 250,000 on Space, which is high for that channel.

  14. Supernatural airs on Space, just like Vampire Diaries, Secret Circle, and Nikita. But we get the CW here, so most of us just watch it on the CW.

  15. Where's your source for this?
The most recent ratings for Ringer I could find showed it at 312,000 for Feb. 10th

  18.  CTV2? I don't get that here, never even heard of it, and I'm in the second biggest province. It must not be available across the country yet. Ah, I just looked it up. It's still extremely patchy in its coverage, airing only to pockets of the country. So still not an even-playing-field comparison with Global, which is a long-established network that reaches the whole country.

"The system currently consists of four over-the-air owned-and-operated television stations (O&Os) in Ontario and one in British Columbia, as well as two regional cable-only channels, one in Atlantic Canada and the other being the provincial cable-only educational channel in Alberta." -Wikipedia

  19. yay for Ringer in Canada and Also Nikita being in the top 3... I wish it was like that in the US too. Wish i could say this could give it a 2nd season but that is just wishful thinking

    ReplyDelete
  20. You really should post them then and source your article properly. Preferably the exact pages that show the ratings.

  21. If you're talking about Quebec, we don't get CTV2 here in most regions except Hull, Outaouais and cities near Ottawa and the Ontario border.. it has replaced A channel I think.. which we didn't get either. I think people who have satellite TV instead of cable can have it..
So like it was said before, Ringer being on a national network, it makes a lot of sense that it would get higher ratings than Vampire Diaries and Nikita, which aren't aired in the second biggest province in Canada...

    ReplyDelete
  22. Well, canadians sure know what to watch... I hope this means at least something for the CW.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yes, I meant Quebec. It would make sense people near the Ontario border can pick it up on one of the Ontario stations. But from what I read, with only one station in BC, one in Alberta and one on the Atlantic side, there must be other regions that don't get it either, like Manitoba and Saskatchewan, some of the Maritime provinces and the three territories. It's too bad we don't get it, it plays some of the US cable shows I'd like to see, like Leverage.

    ReplyDelete
  24. The thing is, it cannot be representative since Ringer airs on a national network (Global) and Vampire Diaries and Nikita air on a secondary network (CTV2) that isn't available in the second biggest province in Canada (Quebec). The only regions in Quebec that get CTV are the ones close to Ontario border if I'm not mistaken..
First season of Vampire Diaries was broadcast on CTV, and then they moved it to their secondary network.. As for 90210, I thought it was on GLOBAL too, unless it changed since the first season. But if it is still on Global, that is bad ratings. I don't know when and where the Secret Circle is airing. As for Gossip Girl, first half of first season was on CTV, and then it was move to A Channel (which is now CTV2) and then to Much Music, which is a cable channel...
Also, Vampire Diaries and Gossip Girl are dubbed in French in Quebec and air on a kid/teen cable channel, and Nikita is also dubbed and airs on cable. All series that are dubbed are of course one to a few seasons behind.

  25. I totally agree !! It's also sad that we don't get the CW, which would make us able to watch their shows live instead of waiting a few days to see it on another network.. if it is broadcast at all. But I bet people with satellite TV get CTV2 and CW.. when I had it 10 years ago I had the WB so it would make sense.

  26. I get the CW on Vidéotron.  You have to subscribe to it as part of the SuperChannel package, if I recall correctly.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Ohh thank you !!!! I'll look into it that would be great !! :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. wow its impressive how well TVD does considering its on Muchmusic and CTV Two which are alot smaller compared to Global

    ReplyDelete
  29. And also ringer airs on uk @ skyliving channel but its a few episodes back example: next week will be episode 16 in usa and england will be episode 14 on Thursday march 8

    ReplyDelete
  30. 90210 doesn't air in canada except on netflix.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Secret Circle also airs on CHCH as does Hart of Dixie

    ReplyDelete
  32. Well if you get the CW in Canada it does.  The CW is channel 166 on Rogers television.

  35.  CTV and CTV2 arnt the same right? Cause I got CTV. We used to have GG and 90210 on global or CTV too and it stoped :(

  39. Marie Christine3 March 2012 at 17:29

Random question (in english, just in case): how do you get them in your email? I don't so I always have to come back when I post something.. Maybe it's because I log in with Gmail instead of the other options?

    ReplyDelete
  45.  okay like you go between hte end of the article and the place where you can write a new comment... there is a button "Disqus" and you click on change profil or edit profile and there is this "notification" thingy and you just click the things you want.

  46. In Toronto, CTV2 actually airs Vampire Diaries at 7pm so it can show American Idol at 8 (unfortunately I have class till 7 so I never get to watch it early =P). We also get Secret Circle at 8pm instead of 9 on CHCH (but I'm usually watching TVD at 8 when I get home so I don't watch it early either). There was a time when GG was airing a day early on Sunday but they stopped lol I guess people would post spoilers.

  50. That is AWESOME for Ringer! Considering its time slot, Friday nights at 10pm! Thats a rough slot! TVD, The Secret Circle, and Nikita all have multiple time slots and networks. Other CW shows might as well, but those three do for sure! RINGER ROCKS!
