I hated this episode. Thank fuck Kevin is finally gone, though. But ROBIN, GET YOUR FUCKING PRIORITIES STRAIGHT. CHEATING = WORSE THAN THE BABY THING. FUCK. And you never loved him - Shut up and stop being an idiot. And Kevin, shut the fuck up with the marriage proposals. I am so happy to see you gone.
And Ted - FUCK YOU, TOO, YOU FUCKING MORON. MOVE THE FUCK ON ALREADY.
The only enjoyable parts were Marshall/Lily and Barney/Ted on the Drunk Train.
Quinn's okay. I give it a few episodes before I hate her.
I actually liked the episode, but that's probably mainly because I like Ted/Robin. Although I'm sure the relapse will only last until the end of the next episode unfortunately...for me, at least. Didn't see enough of Quinn to make a good judgment, but I like her and Barney.
I loved Lily and Marshall's matching half-moose sweaters haha.. But Kevin's proposal? Come on, you guys have been dating for like 5 minutes. At least he won't be around much longer. I loved the Barney/Ted moments, and the Drunk Train was pretty entertaining. And I'm glad Robin finally told Lily and Marshall about her sad baby news :(
On another note, ugh. I know we've known for a while that they were going to revisit Ted and Robin, but seriously - I thought we closed the book on that one forever ago.
I thought it was good actually. It was kind of moving and it had some funny bits. Not bothered by the Ted/Robin thing because I know it won't last long. But I liked that scene. That's just like Ted. He does love her. But not in the way he really wants to love someone. I think he's just sad and tired of being alone.
This was pretty much the best episode since like 2 months (last good one I remember was 7x10). Now the plot is going to move closer to meeting the mother and we are going to see why Ted won't ever be with Robin (I mean, Ted ALWAYS wanted kids, there is absolutely no way he is going to give up on kids and Robin is gonna make him realize this - I'm just assuming). I loved the gags and the word's play. I loved pretty much everything about this episode.
@klutzy_girl: Don't wanna be rude or something but I've never seen you not complaining about something. Calm down...
Wow...and you noticed it just now? I see it for 2 and a half years now. The show is not funny anymore and it goes donwhill with every episode. The only reason I still watch it is - I wanna find out who the mother is.
You last sentence - exactly. But I didn't find this episode entertaining at all. It was one of the good ones this year, but still, the show's spirit is long gone.
Oops, guess people had a problem with me complaining. Just think that Robin needs to get her priorities straight because cheating and pregnancy scare is ten times worse than infertility. Glad Kevin's gone, though. And Ted's a moron who needs to shut up and not hit on his vulnerable friend.
I'm with you on the Ted comment - I mean, really.. he tries to portray himself as this sensitive, caring guy who's a great friend.. and he decides to drop the L-bomb on one of his best friends who JUST ended a relationship (no matter how much I hated Kevin), was clearly upset about the revoking of the proposal, AND was forced to remember that she can't have kids? Not cool, Ted.
Ted needs to stop Mosbying people, honestly. I hated Kevin and Robin/Kevin, but holy fuck, she just ended a relationship. Get your priorities straight too, Ted.
can I just say that Yes the show is how he met the mother of the children but never does he say it as though it is his wife and his partner, perhaps he and the mother have the children separate and then does the, not married when your forty deal with robin
Really not sure about Robin/Ted. Is that horse dead enough to keep flogging? but it was foreshadowed by Victoria at the begining of the season so It wasn't out of the blue.
Quinn/Barney was pretty meh-ish up until the reveal. The dialogue could have been so much better, but I like the overall feel of the plot with the reveal.
Sadly, Kevin and Robin have zero chemistry. I'm not seeing any with the new love interest for Barney either. I wonder if on-screen chemistry is as important in a sitcom.
A missable ep. Loved the moose sweaters. Loved Barney and Ted realizing that the best hope for success on the drunk train was to be drunk. Might have been funnier if they'd had to be drunk to figure that out...
I hated it. It didn't make me laugh once, so it wasn't a good comedy, and nothing was particularly touching enough for it to be a good dramatic episode. The only thing I remotely liked was the moose sweater.
Damn it. I was hoping this episode would be a return to form for Barney but he spent the entire episode in a funk about a stripper. On top of that, we get Ted and Robin stuff again. What a load of crap.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
HIMYM has turned into a bad soap opera :(

Hopefully, next week is better.

Overall episode was solid but not spectacular, but the last twist with Quinn being a stripper was HYSTERICAL.

ReplyDeleteI don't complain about everything. And it just pissed me off about Robin and Ted's actions this episode. Kevin's, too, actually.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the Ted comment - I mean, really.. he tries to portray himself as this sensitive, caring guy who's a great friend.. and he decides to drop the L-bomb on one of his best friends who JUST ended a relationship (no matter how much I hated Kevin), was clearly upset about the revoking of the proposal, AND was forced to remember that she can't have kids? ReplyDeleteI wish the kids could voice their opinion once in awhile:
ReplyDelete"Come on Dad, you've already told us Robin's our aunt. So why are you wasting our time with this?"
I liked Quinn and Barney though, how's Barney gonna deal with his girlfriend being a stripper?
Its really funny that Quinn turned out to be a stripper, no wonder she knew that Barney spend most of his nights at the strip club
ReplyDeleteI agree with most of you and the Robin/Ted scene...enough is enough...horrible timing, and it's getting old for viewers...
ReplyDeleteThe Barney/Stripper arc has potential..
Ted & Robin forever! What actually gets tiring is the Barney/Robin bullshit. I'm happy rn!
ReplyDeleteagreed, there hasn't been a funny episode in forever
ReplyDeletecan I just say that Yes the show is how he met the mother of the children but never does he say it as though it is his wife and his partner, perhaps he and the mother have the children separate and then does the, not married when your forty deal with robin
ReplyDeleteI have been so optimistic with HIMYM but last nights episode was too much crap.
ReplyDeleteWTF was that ending?????

Totally agree
ReplyDeleteYou could probably spare yourself the suffering until the last 5 eps of the series. :-)
ReplyDeleteSadly, Kevin and Robin have zero chemistry. I'm not seeing any with the new love interest for Barney either. I wonder if on-screen chemistry is as important in a sitcom.

ReplyDeleteFinally a good episode. Loved Barney&Ted scenes. Surprised about Ted&Robin, glad Kevin is gone.
