Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, Richard Price, Ken Sanzel and James Mangold are executive producers of NYC 22 for CBS Television Studios in association with Tribeca Productions. NYC 22 was created by Richard Price.

Looks like David Caruso is in danger. His sunglasses retailer won't be happy about this *YEEAAAHHHH*
ReplyDeleteI know it's the mighty CSI franchise but completing a run before the official end of the season is never good. CSI NY almost got cancelled last year, but in the end I think CSI Miami might be the first one to go. The Good Wife may have slightly inferior numbers but the show gets critical praise (+ Emmys, Golden Globes and stuff), it is up against Desperate Housewives (CSI Miami is up against Pan Am, a much less fierce competitor). Plus, after 10 seasons, David Caruso's paycheck must be huge. Even if CSI Miami is a worldwide hit, CBS has more interest in keeping The Good Wife for a fourth year, if only for the prestige of having at least one drama with a good reputation in their lineup.
I thought for sure NYC 22 would end up on Fridays at 8 (instead of A Gifted Man, which is surprisingly still alive), thus meaning a quick cancellation. I'm glad it's getting a great timeslot on a great night after a great show (The Good Wife). If I were in the US and didn't have premium cable (it's hard to ignore Game of Thrones, Veep and The Big C), I would watch CBS on Sundays from 9 to 11.
I actually am excited about NYC 22 because of the people behind it, namely Richard Price. If it's like Southland and if there's no cheesy romantic relationships between the rookie cops on the show, it could be good.
The Unusuals meets Southland. Watch The Unusuals, i liked it a lot.
ReplyDeleteI really liked The Unusuals too. That was a fun show.
ReplyDeleteCBS choosing to premiere this in the middle of April, one month before the end of the TV season, leads me to believe they're probably just burning this show off. This reminds me of what they did with Chaos last season.
ReplyDeleteGlad you agree.
