Ned Fox is my Manny - Lucy Punch cast in FOX comedy pilot

The utterly charming Lucy Punch (The Class) has been cast in Ned Fox is my Manny, a FOX comedy pilot in contention for the 2012-2013 season about a single mom played by Abby Eliott (Saturday Night Live) who has an annoying brother who ends up crashing at her place and raising her child with her. Lucy Punch's character will play a co-worker and a friend of Abby Elliott's.

Sadly that puts a pin in Powers, an FX drama Lucy Punch was supposed to star in alongside Jason Patric, Titus Welliver (who recently joined the exciting NBC drama pilot Midnight Sun) and Charles S. Dutton. It's been a long time Powers is in development at FX and this recent information about Titus Welliver and now Lucy Punch makes it look like the show is probably not going to happen and get past the pilot stage. Outlaw Country is still not officially dead either, but things don't look good for that one either. It looks like there won't be a new drama series on FX this summer on Wednesdays (to replace Rescue Me). The Americans remains in contention for the 2012-2013 season.

Other comedy pilots in contention at FOX include Like Father (from Bill Lawrence, starring Colin Ferguson), Let It Go (from Peter Tolan, starring Zachary Levi), Living Loaded (starring Donald Sutherland), a Mindy Kaling comedy (from and starring Mindy Kaling) and Goodwin Games (from Carter Bays & Craig Thomas, starring Becki Newton). Hopefully none of them, as good as they might seem, will replace the fantastically brilliant Raising Hope.

  1. Yeah, that's pretty much what I expected anyway, Powers - at least in its current form - is dead.
And Outlaw Country actually is dead either, FX decided to drop it a while ago and I know that at least 1 or 2 actors already moved on an signed on for other roles.

  2. I'm quite interested in pretty much all the Fox comedies, but I will echo the sentiment above: no replacements for Raising Hope!!!
(though, objectivelly speaking, if any of them do get picked up I have a feeling that might be the case *cries*)

  3. Oh, no. I really wanted Powers on TV. It's an amazing comic book. I hope at least we'll get to see the pilot episode they filmed.
