After dragging its heels for weeks in the ratings, NBC is pulling the John Grisham-inspired legal drama from its weekday lineup.
Instead, NBC’s new high-concept drama Awake will take its place starting March 1.
The Firm will move to Saturday nights at 9 p.m. for the remainder of its run — so, yes, it’s basically cancelled, no surprise there. Last night’s episode delivered only 3 million viewers and an anemic 0.8 rating in the adult demo. Awake stars Jason Isaacs as a detective who finds he is leading a complex double life after a tragic accident.

YESSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
ReplyDeleteYes! Though I kind of wish Awake wasn't on a Thursday night still I hope it does well!
ReplyDeleteWell this sucks. Awake has been my most looked forward to show since the concept was announced, and I'm not going to be able to watch it live at that time... Plus with Thursday being such a difficult night as is, this makes it even more difficult for Awake to make it to a second season.
ReplyDeleteThis sucks!
ReplyDeleteIt is sad but not surprising. I for one am glad that Awake is replacing it because I really want to watch it
ReplyDeleteFinally ! I've been waiting to watch this show for months !
ReplyDeleteam i the only person in the world who actualy enjoy the firm pretty much, or is it 2 or 3 moore people who thinks that the firm being the next flashforward/the event sucks
ReplyDeleteI dont expect Awake to do much better.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited! Awake! I've been waiting for you for what feels like a full year. Probably because I have been waiting about a year.
ReplyDeleteAwesome, been excited for Awake since they showed the previews months ago. Glad we finally have a date for it. Now if we could just get one for Community too, everything will be alright.
ReplyDeletesad about The Firm.. I really like it!
ReplyDeleteyou're not alone..
ReplyDeleteThe Firm was so boring i was starting of thinking to watch norwegian programming again...
ReplyDeleteSO excited for AWAKE to begin! With this, TOUCH and SMASH I will have my weekly dose of quality television set to go.
ReplyDeleteIf they advertise Jason Isaacs in the previews ("starring Lucius Malfoy from the Harry Potter movies") they may get some viewers.
ReplyDeleteNot a big surprise, but I hope that Awake will be the big Thursday 10pm hit that NBC has been looking for to be at least competitive with the Menatalist.... hard to capture what ER had back in the day, but Southland would've been great had they not did the Jay Leno fiasco...
ReplyDeleteGreat news!
ReplyDeleteI have been waiting for a premiere date for Awake since the Fall season began! Glad it is finally near. I won't really miss the Firm since it was nothing new to me, but there are so many weak shows on NBC, NBC could have chosen to cancel a different one I guess...
I'm just glad I finally get to see one of my most anticipated series of this season!
Great!! I've been waiting for this show for a long time!! Let's see how it does...
ReplyDeleteI liked it as well! Sucks, huh?!
ReplyDeleteGreat, they're putting Awake in the single worst timeslot NBC has...
ReplyDeleteNo feelings on "The Firm" since I'm not watching, but super excited Awake finaly got a premiere date!!
ReplyDeletelooking forward to seeing Awake, but yikes! not only is it on NBC,but its also replacing the Firms time slot.Is it to early to start playing taps?
ReplyDeleteI have mixed feelings on this one - it's coming to us soon, but let's not kid ourselves in hoping it has a chance on the worst TV network out there. I'm really rooting for it NOT to be stillborn when it does gets here, and praying to the TV gods that we get a good enough viewership to justify them keeping the show.
ReplyDeleteAt least they do seem to be promoting it? I was surprised to hear about a new promo!
