Update: 21:00 All reports seem to think that both shows will be pre-empted

Update: 18:30 Latest from maskedscheduler.

Update: 15:40 Fox's maskedscheduler tweeted this.

Thanks to Justin for the heads up. We'll update when we get more info

Just wanted to get this out to House & Alcatraz fans that tonight's episodes maybe preempted for the Daytona 500 the start time is tentatively 7PM ET tonight.

Although if the rain keeps up that may not be the case. But just wanted to get this on SpoilerTV so people are aware when they tune into to watch House or Alcatraz tonight that they are not wondering what's going on.

  1. Ugh, rude. I wanted to watch Alcatraz, not men driving cars in circles for hours. It's boring.

  2. An hour ago they said 12 noon, darn it must be raining cats and dogs.....

  3. Don't really understand maskedschedulers meaning. If he means there is a chance the race might get postponed again, which would mean no preemption, I understand that.

But from reports It is suppose to stop raining this afternoon-early evening and it is looking like it will be clear at 7pm. Daytona is I believe usually 4.5-5 hours. Which would put it to 12-12:30 AM after all the post race stuff, not to mention local news will be shown after the race.

  4. Yep, they don't tend to update that site very often.

As soon as we get some more info we'll try to post it.

Best bet is to assume it's on. Tune in as usual.

  5. Breaking: Rain delays Daytona 500 again, will start at 7PM.
http://www.autoblog.com/2012/02/27/rain-delays-daytona-500-again-will-start-at-7pm/ I hate when FOX pre-empts shows for sports and specials, especially on Saturday. Fans are upset COPS is constantly pre-empeted.

  6.  Even if it stops this afternoon they still have to dry the track, that alone can take well over an hour...And yep,it can take 4 to 5 hrs, even longer if they have a lot of crashes, then they stop and drive under the warning light while they clean the track. It can take awhile, but that is apart of racing, goes with the territory.... :)

  7. Not to go off-topic, but I have a question. If a show is cancelled or ends, do the Badgeville badges get erased?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Also, the race could be shortened if it starts to rain again after the race starts.  Which could mean pre-empting of House/Alcatraz on the east coast but not the west coast.

  9. This episode of Alcatraz will have a normal repeat on Saturday, March 10, at 11pm.  I couldn't find any repeat scheduled for tonight's House.

  10. OK, seriously, first Fringe now Alcatraz? I hope it POURS! I am SICK of having my shows pushed off the air so we can watch people run, or in this case DRIVE, in a CIRCLE!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Damn sports leave my TV shows alone!

    ReplyDelete
  12.    Yes,that's true and depending on how many laps they get in,NASCAR could possibly call it and who ever is in first position wins....I rather they call it and run tomorrow, but i know they wouldn't for there is another race on Sunday...  :(

  13. ^$#%$^& ridiculous "sport" doesn't deserve television time in the first place!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Doesn't bother me. My Lost rewatch is almost done and then I can catch up on some things I've fallen slightly behind on. Like last week's Alcatraz.

    ReplyDelete
  15. How's the re-watch going? Still enjoying it?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Thanks! Will be checking back for sure!

  17.  I haven't gone back to watch any of the series since it went off the air. I wanted to save it for awhile. So it's been really satisfying. I surprised myself by how into I am. I've barely been watching my regular weekly shows. I started the rewatch 2 weeks ago and I will be done soon. Perhaps even tonight! So you could say I've been enjoying it.

    ReplyDelete
  18. That's awesome. I've not done a rewatch yet. Going to wait till I get the Blu-Ray set and enjoy it in full HD :)

    ReplyDelete
  19. It's amazing how fast you can work through 6 seasons of a show as good as Lost is!

I did a re-watch a few months back and was done in 2 or 3 weeks also. I think knowing what's coming in the next episode kept me watching "just one more...." until I passed out each night! XD

    ReplyDelete
  20.  Well if there's a good reason to wait, that is definitely it.

  21. Isn't there a Fuel Crisis?  Shouldn't these things be cancelled for being the environmental disgrace they are? As always my time will be better spent than watching the serpent chase it's own tail in a time/resource waster of spectacular proportions.

    ReplyDelete
  22.  Truth. Also, watching it so fast makes the more mediocre episodes seem far less mediocre. And there's all these little moments I had forgotten about it. It's been a treat.

  23. I haven't rewatched the whole thing either since the finale, only a few episodes here and there...I was also waitung till I bought the blu-ray, which I did--last April, but still I haven't had the time to just put it in the PS3 and rewatch it in it's entirety ...

  24. Daytona will burn through about 6000 gallons of gas in a few hours.  Certainly a huge waste, but a drop in the bucket when looking at the big picture.  Also, race cars have advanced car technology which improves gas milage for regular cars.  Some recent (very boring) nascar races have been all about fuel efficiency in order to have fewer fuel stops.

It wouldn't bother me though if Nascar (or any other racing) came to an end.

    ReplyDelete
  25. No! I hate it! I'm really excited to watch new Alcatraz. It's getting better every week!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Does this mean they'll air whenever the Daytona 500 is over, or next week?

    ReplyDelete
  27.  If they aired when Daytona was over it would be 12-1am at the earliest on the East Coast, assuming the local news was shown after it. Now west coast would be a different situation but I doubt Fox would air it on the West Coast and not the East Coast on the same night.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Geez.. you'd think people wouldn't be so rude. I don't knock you for watching these shows - or blast them - let me watch what I want to watch. There are a ton of advertisers who put a ton of money for ad-time, there are thousands of people in Daytona paying for food and hotels which stimulates the economy.

It's a TV show that will be shown either way, chill out.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hello, stranger!  What's been up?  I would think that Fox could put the shows on a different one of their channels. Whack Fox Business or News for two hours.  I'd be happy.

    ReplyDelete
  30.  If they could run Daytona the race can take anywhere from 4 to 5.5 hours.House and Alcatraz would play to late so forget about the shows to next week..

But if there is another rain delay, they just might call the race for tonight. Then there is a possibility that the shows will be on...Keep checking Fox....

    ReplyDelete
  31.  So where have you been?On vacation?See what happens when our show goes into hiatus,we both disappear, well you more than i.So whats happening? I rather have less news channels in general,to many talking heads!

    ReplyDelete
  32. so has a final decision been made?

    ReplyDelete
  33.   Do you have any idea the amount of money that goes into racing, they would never shorten a race due to a show. They have contracts up the wazooo, your talking not just millions here, try a few billion, and want someone walks up to Fransces and say stop the race,House is coming on soon........Somehow i don't think so....

    ReplyDelete
  34.  So says you,but there are people (me) that like that ridiculous sport.Me and about 3 Hundred thousand other fans would agree,,,To each his own..

    ReplyDelete
  35. It won't be made until they've determined at race time.  If it hasn't rained for a few hours, it will start.  if it just rained an hour ago, they'll dry the track and that takes a few hours, setting the start time back.  Etc., etc...  so brace yourselves... it could be a long night.

    ReplyDelete
  36.  oy rather annoying.... well luckily i have a backup tv show so im good. lol Thanks for the info!

    ReplyDelete
  37.  just turned to fox the race is starting.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yep, pace laps leading to the green flag... it's a shame the east coast gets hosed... and I am presuming that the west coast won't be affected.  But I've seen where a net preempts all the programming for both coasts, but I've only seen that once and I don't remember which net.  Argh...

    ReplyDelete
  39.  yea east always get screwed bc of special interruptions, such is life it'll be on the net soon enough

    ReplyDelete
  40. So is house airing tonight?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Yeah and Person of Interest is a repeat too! It's too much to take in! --It's gonna be one of those long weeks...

    ReplyDelete
  42. It's airing in Canada. Maybe people in US will get them later this week.

    ReplyDelete
  43.  I'm on the west coast, and it's not looking like House is about to start.... :(

    ReplyDelete
  44. Scratch that. House was new, but Alcatraz is a repeat of 1x03.

    ReplyDelete
  45. An old episode of Alcatraz is airing on CityTV. does that mean anything?

    ReplyDelete
  46. When will they show tonight's show, has anyone heard?

    ReplyDelete
  47. So when will House & Alcatraz be scheduled...

    ReplyDelete
  48. More like retired. Chuck is a prime example. I'm forever stuck on Elle Bartowski xD

    ReplyDelete
  49. Same here, I'm doing a Chuck rewatch, much better then waiting to see if House aired.

  50. Finishing up the pre-surgery testing.  Some people get hair extensions. I have to settle for extensions on the rods in my back. Maybe I'll end up even taller!!  Are you going to watch Awake Thursday?

    ReplyDelete
  51.  I just read what i wrote and boy did it sound harsh, sorry i didn't mean it that way. :(

    ReplyDelete
  52.  You of all people should appreciate these two words,"Pain Meds." That is whats been up or rather horizontal.I don't know what i keep doing to my back but i certainly do it,and rather well i might add...So you will be going for surgery in a few days,do you know what day you are scheduled for? ....Ha! If you get any taller i will just have to start calling you Jack.I'm getting shorter and your getting taller,go figure...Yes i am definitely watching Awake again lets call it a refresher episode, ya know those pain meds and what they can do to total recall,,,,Yikes!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Ha! No worries.

If I mock something cherished by others I expect and can handle a little flack.

    ReplyDelete
  54.  You are one of the few people that talk to me, it did bother me and i just wanted you to know.....
