Obviously the fact that last week's "Dair episode" got about the worst ratings in Gossip Girl history taught the writers/producers nothing. Oh well. The good thing is, despite how awful those ratings were, they can get worse. And will.
I think that mostly has to do with the fact that Chair fans are annoying as hell. Even us Dair shippers know it won't last forever, but we didn't stop watching the show simply because it took a while for it to happen. If Chair fans did less whining, I'm sure the ratings wouldn't be so bad.
If Dair shippers can wait a few seasons for something we know for fact isn't going to be permanent, then Chair shippers can stop throwing a hissy fit for something we ALL know is going to happen anyway.
Annoyed as hell* I'm a fan of Chair but don't hate on Dair (not saying I'm a fan mind, far from it) But i at least try and see where people are coming from. Speaking for the majority of sane Chair fans, where not whining for no reason where feeling completely shat on tbh. Next weeks episode we have Blair and the dowry disappearing for Dair to happen within one episode? they used it as a another of many road blocks for Chuck and Blair and like that its gone, which just proves how stupid it was in the first place for them to just take it away just for Dair to happen. I completely understand why, but they should have done Dair last season when it would have made sense, when they were both alone and needed someone, not now and just completely destroy everything for them to happen. But its beyond that now.. for Chair/GG fans if you look at the overall bigger picture the writing and story lines and everything in general is just shocking. Blair's "love" has become soo meaningless because shes throwing it around left right and center and moves on to someone else by the following episode. I could go on about the amount of plot holes this season, its unreal. I'm sure even Dair fans can agree that they have completely destroyed Dan and Blair's characters this season more so Blair and in the process damaged a serious amount of friendships/couples. Honestly good luck Dair fans, if it goes anything like how the writers screw up Chair your in for a lot of "Fun" as they put it.
I don't know what Blair think of, like she wants all for her, doesn't want to loose Dan but in the same time doesn't want to let go Chuck. Well at least I'm still hoping in the end Chuck and Blair will be together again as a couple. Hoping that Blair is scheming behind all people and use Dan to get away from Louis, make Chuck free from accusation by being around Dan and get happy in the end with Chuck.
I know this is Gossip Girl, but I can't believe they're (potentially) resolving Blair's marriage so soon. I'm sure Cyrus is a great lawyer, but it seems like they just got tired of the whole story line or something and want to wrap it up.
Penn and Leighton have chemistry... but the story line is awful, they really have ruined Blair and Dan's characters though. How he could feel bad for Chuck earlier this season or "be in love" with Blair after all the awfulness is beyond me... But so goes the world on The UES. Really desperate for another NJBC reunion though.
dair is almost 4 seasons in the making and i still watch and waited for them, now it happened, let the dair fans be happy for awhile or hopefully forever
Well first off, you do realised that they've written and/or filmed all episodes of the season already? Secondly, the writers have a story mapped out for the season, they're not going to change it just because some Chair fans throw their teddy's out of the pram. Thirdly, the ratings have been exactly the same for the past few months, they only saw a boost for the wedding because it was the 100th episode and the CW promoted the crap out of it, and even then it was only a slight boost. Fourth, the show is constantly number one on iTunes downloads after the episode, which is probably more important to the CW than ratings, because the Nielson system is out dated and just doesn't work especially for such a teen oriented network as the CW. The show has been on for five years and has been going down is the ratings since the end of the first season. The third season has the biggest drop in viewers, so what does that tell you?
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Obviously a Dair sneak peek <3

The chair people should watch. It's obvious the writers are dragging this out so the end of the final season 6 will reunite them together.

ReplyDeletestupid rating issue has nothing to do with DAIR, if im a chair fan i still watch and hope something happens to them
ReplyDeleteif you are a chair fan then you will know how it feels to hope something happens to them for far too long and decided to have enough of waiting.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, i'm waiting for a big Chair reunion.
ReplyDeleteHa, if the always-low never-up GG ratings taught gg writers nothing, why would it teach them after the last episode? lol
ReplyDeletekeep DAIRING peeps!
