    I never thought about that.  I just think drowning is the scariest thing. And i hate when characters i care about have to go through it.  I love castle though.

     My guess as to why Kate wants her firearm is to shoot the glass to give themselves an escape route as water pressure preventing them from opening their doors.

     Exactly.  They should have focused on the plot in the promo and not just the opening scene.
