Smash - See the Pilot Early Starting January 16

6 Jan 2012

NBC's Smash is easily 2011's most exciting, inventive and addictive new series -- and thanks to XFinityTV, you can check out the pilot episode three weeks early!

On January 16, the premiere episode (airing Feb 6 on NBC) will be available on Xfinity On Demand, while their iPad app and XfinityTV.com will carry the episode starting January 23!

And trust me, you'll want to get on-board with this series from the beginning because the behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to bring a Broadway show to life not only features amazing characters but some of the most refreshingly original music to ever grace the small screen.

  1. For the people posting they cannot wait for the series, your wait has lessened! XD

I'm excited for this series, despite it not being my usual type of series.

  3. I hope this somehow finds its way onto the Net early! Also previewing pilots early has become such a trend in the 2011/2012 season, interesting to see how it seems to be helping shows.

  4. I hope they do an additional promotional push by putting the episode for free on iTunes prior to its premiere since I don't have XFinity TV ;)

  7. don't they know, that will drive down the pilot ratings (look at what happened when True Blood did that)

  8. I think it's more of a mixed bag letting people see the pilot early....

True Blood may have suffered because the season premiere was not so good. Other shows like Homeland and Revenge had better than normal premieres after releasing the pilots on iTunes or YouTube etc.

  9. Well, I guess, we'll see. I mean a 10 minute preview should suffice and generate just as much buzz and not completely spoil a viewer's appetite, imo
