With the CW ordering a number of Pilots it looks like a lot of CW shows are currently facing cancellation as you can see from our Cancellation Table.

With Vampire Diaries and Supernatural looking safe and One Tree Hill already ending this season which of these shows do you think will be cancelled.

    It's so hard to tell with CW. I'm not sure if Ringer has a great chance. Hoping Nikita gets renewed though. And I feel like Secret is safe and Hart of Dixie has a good chance of sticking around.

    I really hope that Hart of Dixie sticks around. I know that since its return from its winter hiatus it hasn't been doing as well as it was in the fall in terms of ratings, but that show is so good and it deserves a second season.

    I don't think Nikita and Ringer have great chances at being renewed , and Gossip Girl just shouldn't get renewed. But maybe they will cancel even more shows.

    The CW is developing really good pilots these year. They should get rid of Ringer, give 13-episode final seasons to GG and 90210, throw TSC to Fridays and renew HoD and Nikita.

    I hope Nikita stays it is one of my fav shows from the CW, but the ratings have definitely not been good.  I would love to see 90210 end and I haven't really gotten hoked by Hart of Dixie or Ringer.

    After watching Gossip Girls 100th episode I cant imagine how they can recover. This season has to be the worst and the ratings show it. The producers are putting down fans, the writing is horrible. The only thing worth watching these days is Chucks growth. I only watched the show for Chuck and Blair and now the writers are just ruining them.

    It'll likely be at least 2 shows probably 3.

    At the moment I'd say Nikita and Hart of Dixie and either Gossip Girl and/or Ringer.Things could easily change in the ratings race though and obviously Ringer has yet to come back from hiatus. I'm just lumping it in because it seemed to be on a downward slide pre hiatus.

    90210 had a better average than SPN pre hiatus and its not more than half a season away from the possibility of a syndication deal. I imagine it has 1 season left in it, thats speaking as an impartial because I dont watch the show or any other show on the CW other than SPN. I'm just being as realistic as possible without letting personal preferences cloud my judgement.

    Hart of Dixie seems like the most likely to be cancelled, I also voted for 90210 but I'm not sure about that one all too much.

    Mainly I'm really hoping that Nikita sticks around because it just keeps better and better, and with Supernatural's lack-luster season thus for to me, Nikita has become my favorite CW show.

    I hope ringer isn't cancelled, whilst its not my favourite show its certainly enjoyable. However if I have to give up Ringer so i get an extra season of GG, its a sacrifice im happy with

    I don't watch Gossip Girl and Nikita, but I guess the CW expected more viewers for these two shows this year.
    I think I remember Nikita has been renewed for season 2 with low ratings last year.
    Maybe I'm wrong but I can't imagine the network saving it again.

    I don't like any of them, but in terms of weakest/strongest, I think "90210" and "The Secret Circle" are the weakest and most likely to be cancelled. The strongest/most likely to survive is probably "Gossip Girl," and the one with Buffy is probably safe LOL

    It's hard to tell with Ringer it's the only show that hasnt come back from hiatus yet, it was on a steady decline pre-hiatus and according to reports its quite expensive to produce. 50% renewal chance.

    HOD appears to have come back from hiatus a sinking ship. If its this low now imagine how low it could be at the end of the season let alone next season?! I'd give it 40% chance of renewal.

    Nikita is the lowest rated show on Network TV but it does have that Friday factor going for it. The CW may decide to renew just because they dont want to move anything else to Friday. I'm just now sure thats enough of an excuse to renew. I'd say it's 90% likely to get canned.

    Secret Circle 90% chance of renewal and 100% certain it wont be airing in the same time slot next season.

    I want 90210 and Supernatural to both end.  

    90210 has really struggled with it's college year.  It's gotten so bad that I've stopped watching, which is something I rarely ever do with a show in it's fourth season.  

    And Supernatural has been great this season but all things must end.  Seven is a good number.  Let Nikita or Hart of Dixie have it's chance.  Or at the very least, bring back Sunday.  Maybe move Supernatural there.  Or maybe Hart of Dixie might thrive there?

    As for the others, I think both Ringer and Gossip Girl should get 13 episode, with Gossip Girl being it's sixth and finale season.  And I think Ringer would better with less episode.

    The Secret Circle, I couldn't care less either way.  

    But that's what I want to happen.  My guess is 90210, Nikita, and maybe Ringer will get canceled.

    Gossip Girl better not get cancelled! Eh, I'm not worried. It's one of the best selling shows on iTunes and DVD.  Nikita should get cancelled. It disrespects the movie, and will never be Alias.

    I always hate speculating on these types of things, buuuuut...the only show I can say I for sure think will get cancelled is Nikita. After moving it to Fridays for it's second season, the show's rating were pretty much ruined and it doesn't have a strong fanbase like much of the other CW shows have. The other show I would predict to get cancelled is 90210, but with that show it is so hard to predict cause it seems like the new OTH in terms of it's survival on the CW so far, but maybe this will be it's year. They're going to want to clear house to make some room for newer, better shows next year, so at least one or two more shows will need to get cancelled in addition to OTH already ending. I think Gossip Girl will get a final season. I think there are a lot of politics involved with these things sometimes, and considering the CW's relationship with Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, I don't think they would want to ruin that. Plus, Gossip Girl has a strong fanbase as well, which is how many CW shows survive renewal. Sorry for the essay, I just always feel the need to explain my reasoning lol.

    Gossip Girl will at least have an 13 episode final season, so I think Nikita is a lock for cancellation (I love the series though). And between 90210, Hart of Dixie and Ringer I think 2 of them will be canned, but it will deppend on the money more than on the audience. Ringer it's quite expensive, so if it doesn't improve, it's a gonner.

    You can´t forget that there are lots of people who watch the show regardless of Chuck and Blair ot at least don´t take them as the most important thing of the show.
    No offense to you or any other shipper, but imho there are many (too) fanatic shippers who are a bit... counter productive to any show. If anything does not go their way then the show is "sooo bad" and they "don´t wanna watch it anymore". However, there are other aspects to a show than only a certain couple. But that´s just my opinion. (I love Chair too, btw).
    I´m sure the show will get a sixth season - not much more though, even the producers said they don´t see more happening than 6 seasons.

    Well,the shows I care about are the safe ones..  : )

    It's hard to answer because personally I've never watched most of them..I think Gossip Girl will probably get a final season,even if it's only 13 episodes like One Tree Hill and I don't see them cancelling The Secret Circle.

    Of the remaining shows I've only watched half a season from Nikita.There are a lot of factors though.Nikita is definitely in trouble,but it airs on Friday.If they cancel it they'll have to move something else there.The only shows that can survive on a Friday night are Supernatural and probably VD,but I don't think they'll take that chance.Personally,I don't want Nikita to get cancelled for the sole reason that if it does,they'll pair Supernatural with something horrible.

    I think 90210 will go,along with Hart of Dixie or Ringer.

    The only show I am sure will be back Is The Vampire Diaires.Any of the others could go.

    People should not be so sure of Supernatural coming back.Look at ratings.It only does slightly better
    than Nikita.I suspect Ringer Is pretty much a goner.The fact they waited so long for new episodes of heart of Dixie Is also a bad sign.

    I have suspecion Gossip Girl will be back.

    Again the problem Is we don't know what shows the new regime at the CW favors.

    I hope Ringer gets renewed, it surprised me in a good way.
    SPN and TVD NEED to be renewed, of course. This season of SPN is sooooo much better then the last one, and TVD is definetly getting more interesting.
    If the rest gets cancelled, I won't really care. Even TSC, I keep waiting for some improvement that never comes (and I thought it would be a great show)...

    I don't think Ringer can be cancelled because in terms of world wide, it seems to be a hit on Sky Living. I think there's too much of a liability if the CW loses Sarah Michelle Gellar and she moves to the CBS or NBC for example.... Hey, Sarah Michelle Gellar kicking ass in SVU maybe?

    The only way Ringer can keep itself from getting cancelled is if they quickly move on from the Bridget's-pretending-to-be-her-twin story, and get into something else. It's obvious that the sisters will meet, Andrew and Henry will find out, and Machado will find out. If that's all taken care of in the near future, the more interesting story of the crime Bridget witnessed will get full play.

    I understand and respect your opinion. I watched Smallville and loved every scene and watched it from beginning to end. Gossip Girl however has no pull over me except watching Chuck and Blair scenes. Me personally wouldnt watch it without them..just dont think anyone else is that interesting. I understand though that other people watch it and like other scenes as well, it was just my opinion that I dont. :O)

    Also I'd like to add, the problem Ringer is facing is the same one Veronica Mars had which led to it's cancellation, it doesn't belong on the CW Network. Veronica Mars was rated higher by critics better than Vampire Diaries, True blood and on IMDB it's even rated higher than Buffy however it was totally on the wrong channel.

    You can tell Ringer was really meant for CBS because of the story and how it's setup. I'm not going to try and sound sexist here but the CW demographic is Female 18-34.... You can understand why perhaps Ringer isn't that appealing to women.... Not in the sense it's an all male buff show like 24 even though women enjoy Kiefer it's just that 

    ...The story line and the violence and how dark, it definitely also has the male demographic in it. What happened with Veronica Mars was the CW thought they were buying a PG version of Nancy Drew and with all the rape story lines and everything.

    Bottom line is that show is not a CW show, if I had to pitch it I'd probably put it on NBC as a thriller story line or put it on FOX. I feel maybe ABC and CBS could be a bit light-hearted if Ringer goes into a darker place than it currently is.

    Nikita, Gossip Girl and 90210.  Basically, the shows that are doing a very poor job ratings-wise.  At least Supernatural has a pretty solid fanbase even on Fridays, opposed to Nikita.  And GG and 90210 are still alive even when they're doing a poor job as well, respectively.

    The other shows...give them chances, they'll do alright.  The three I've stated had their chances and more, so just give them the axe.

    Undoubtedly TSC will get renewed and moved to a new night. The CW has to put a new show after TVD since it's their best performer. But thanks for the rundown! I know Nikita is a long shot but that Friday factor does help it.

    Agree about Supernatural. I mean, it won't get cancelled but I've fallen so behind on it with no desire to catch up. I don't want to say I've given up on it but in a sense I guess I have. I still plan on watching what I've missed at some point.

    And me too. I don't care about TSC either way. I'm still watching but it does little more than make me roll my eyes. I want to like it more but I just don't right now.

    Really would like some more Nikita. Hope it gets at least a final sendoff season or something. :/

    Ugh, 90210. I watched the pilot. That was more than enough for me tbh.

    And GG's numbers are astoundingly atrocious. I can't imagine it getting renewed unless it's for a shortened final season.

    The only sure bet for renewal here is The Secret Circle.  However, all bets are off next year when it's almost guaranteed not to have Vampire Diaries boosting its ratings.  The CW's best pilot will get its current cushy spot.  I'd say Nikita and Ringer are most likely to be canceled unless Ringer comes back with better ratings.  Gossip Girl has no more than 13 episodes in them and that's a gift.  90210 will live to see another season unless it tanks this spring by virtue of they can't cancel everything.  Hart of Dixie is a toss up.

    Arrow has a great chance of being paired with Vampire Diaries.  Of all their pilots, it has the most buzz.  That puts it on Tuesday or Thursday for sure.  Secret Circle has wasted its VD lead-in.  No way they stay paired next year.  They need a new pilot to soar after VD so that it can open its own day the following season.

    In the Ostroff years, i would say you were right.  However, I have faith that if Gossip Girl is renewed for next year, it will come with a final season tag just like One Tree Hill and Smallville did.

    I agree.  I think 90210 and Secret Circle have the best chance of all of these.  I don't watch 90210 so I wouldn't mind seeing it gone to make way for more adult shows, but the ratings put it marginally better than everything else.  My guess is that it stays.

    Except that Secret Circle and 90210 have the best ratings of any of the listed shows.  SC is the second highest rated and 90210 and Supernatural keep trading spots for the third highest rated scripted show.

    If Supernatural ends soon, it won't be this year.  The actors are locked into a contract for the 8th season so no contract negotiations to mess things up.  Besides, there is no way the CW ends Supernatural without a big final season send off like they did with Smallville.

    I think we need to resign ourselves to a complete Friday mismatch next year.  I don't see the CW moving Supernatural from Fridays and they sure aren't going to put a new show there.  I'm just hoping it isn't half the year with Gossip Girl and the other half with 90210.  Perhaps it will be one of their hideous reality series.  At this point, I'm hoping for Supernatural repeats followed by Supernatural new episodes.

    I think being on the CW is part of the problem, but in all honesty, Ringer's biggest issue was the disastrous pilot.  I understand why, though it was originally slated for CBS, they passed it on to the CW.  It's likely that if Ringer was on another channel, it would have been canceled already.

    That's exactly what I'm terrified about..Being paired up with Gossip Girl or 90210.Not only because they'll be nonexistent as lead ins,but also cause they're a complete different genre.
    But you're probably right.They won't move Supernatural because everything else will be slaughtered on a Friday night and they can't put a new show there for the same reason.
    The ideal scenario(which I know will never happen) would be to pair The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural on Thursday.Really,how cool would that be?!?But a pairing with Arrow(if it gets picked up)would also be nice.
    If they are not willing to move Supernatural then your idea with the repeats is definitely what I'm rooting for!

    Nikita, Hart of Dixie and maybe Ringer or even SS if it has a big spring drop
    no way is GG cancelled and producers already said as much it is a huge part of the CW image/brand etc and will get a cerimonial final season
    it makes much more economic sense to cancel freshman shows rather than the older ones

    Gossip Girl sells more iTunes episodes than any of The CW's shows, and 0,7 (18-49) ratings is not really THAT bad for CW. They must give it a 13-episode final season. CW just LOVES the final season tag.

    I still think there isn't a safer bet for renewal on ANY station than The Vampire Diaries given how badly it crushes the rest of the stuff on it's network. Even NCIS could have contract issues.

    My guess is that we say goodbye to Nikita, Gossip Girl and Heart of Dixie. I understand that GG is No. 1 on iTunes, but in all honesty, that doesn't really mean much. It only takes a few downloads to move up to the top of the iTunes charts and they don't make much from that at all. So it's not a big factor in the renewal/cancellation decisions. The fact that it hit the magic 100 may actually have sealed it's fate. They can now try to make a syndication deal and actually make money from it without putting another dime into it. GG and Nikita are at the bottom of the CW ratings clump and I doubt the "Friday Factor" will be enough to save Nikita. When you're dead last, you're dead last, no matter what day you're on. And, HoD hasn't done much since returning. Although if Ringer returns even lower, I wouldn't hesitate to swap my guess. I'd say TVD, SPN, TSC are safe with Ringer, 90210 and HoD toss-ups.

    Ringer, Nikita and Gossip Girl are my top three cancellation 'likelies', but it's so freaking hard to tell with the CW. The only thing I would put money on to definitely stay around would be The Secret Circle.

    I love The Secret Circle and I think it's a safe bet that it's getting renewed, it's the networks second best rated show. And maybe it would really do better if scheduled for another night. I think Ringer and 90210 should be cancelled.

    the one show that i dont want to get cancelled is already cancelled - One Tree Hill. Hart of Dixie i like but i dont think the ratings stand up, Gossip Girl has gotten gold, 90210 also has gotten old, Ringer should have been dead months ago, nikita im not sure and i want secret cirle to stay

    Hey, I'm glad to see Supernatural wasn't included on the list  :)  I think Gossip Girl's probably safe for another season.  That's not saying it SHOULD be, necessarily.  I have no idea what the writers think they're doing this season.  But I think they'll give them one more year to fix it.

    I don't know which will be cancelled but I know which SHOULD be...the abomination/drivel-laden/insipid/poorly written/annoying/stupid/ vile/horror-show "Nikita. 
    How dare the lame-brains at the CW think they could do better the sublime/superb/stupendous/fabulous/perfection of the original series "La Femme Nikita"??...like anyone could top the great acting/talent/ incredible beauty of Roy Dupuis as Michael and Peta Wilson as Nikita? or the wonderful writing/costumes /music and especially the amazing supporting cast-Eugene Robert Glaser-Alberta Watson-Don Francks-Mathew Ferguson??....NO WAY!!!!....LFN was the highest rated/most critically acclaimed/beloved to this day show ever on USA nettwork. Why don't you hire some better writers & producers and stop trying to recapture the magic of great shows by rebooting pathetic imitations!..REALLY!

    I think Hart of Dixie and Nikita going to be cancelled. I don't like to watch Hart of Dixie and Nikita. I think 90210 definitely going to be renew for Season 5, Secret Circle definitely going to be renew for Season 2, Ringer is going to be renew for Season 2 also, and Gossip Girl maybe for Season 6.

    I would hope they don't cancel any of them for although the ratings aren't great for some shows, at least the network knows what to expect.
    All of the shows are shown on overseas tv too and are regularly watched.

    I think their policy should be to keep these as a base and expand their offer by introducing one new series at a time, see how it gets received, and if it's a sucess then cancel one of their less popular older ones.
    If they cancel too many there is no guarantee that the new ones will rate any better.

    Ringer is just getting started it has only had like 12 episodes and it's a thriller .Much better than Gossip girl thats so 7 years ago and 90210 has been in danger for like since it started but never actually cancelled .Nikita i dislike but i douno what will happen there to  be honest the secret circle is the worst show out all them it should be cancelled

    I wanted Arrow to be a SV spin off with Oliver Queen/Justin Hartley.  If he is not in it, it will have to be excellent for me to get over my disappointment.
    I tried to like Secret Circle, but just don't care about any of the characters, still watching, but it has been moved to my second DVR and does not get watched in a timely manner.  Love Hart of Dixie, it is my 3 favorite show on CW after SPN and TVD.  Ringer acting is so bad and they don't use Jason Dohring enough for me to get interested.

    OK then, so if u GG fans think show will be renewed bc producers said so, then, Nikita's producer (Craig) said on that Bad Boys of CW panel that no one told them to start wrapping things up. Plus ofc, there is that game sponsored by Kia where u can win set visit in time period august-dec. 2012 (where S3 should be filmed). Also, we are only CW show that has 'brand name' (Nikita) and huge int. star (Maggie Q). Not to forget KIA as sponsor and that they haven't only participated in making that 'Code Breaker' game, but some little games as well. Not to forget to mention big names behind the show.  Also, development of Mikita story is slow, and i doubt they would stretch it if they think they won't get 3rd season. Then there is that person with some Top Secret info... So, Nikita is renewed 100%? Should we start celebrating?

    Excuse mee... How is nikita a "brand name?!" LOL, im pretty sure gossip girl has been on their billboards and commercials for years now. I've watched nikita, and im my opinion fighting isn't good acting, its fighting. Amazing, heartfelt, dramatic scenes are good acting, and gossip girl has some of the best stars, which is why it may end. The stars are so good that they're finding other jobs in movies and bigger things. I've never heard of "Maggie Q" before so i dont think she is an int star whatever that is. "So, Nikita is renewed 100%? Should we start celebrating?" LOL you're such an ignorant fan girl, you're so caught up in your show's plot! Nothing is certain, certainly not nikita, it has a big chance of getting cancelled! "Big Names behind the show" LOL gossip girl has a new guest star every week, a designer, model, a big time actor, you're so ignorant! Please, get your facts straight! And don't diss gossip girl , because just because you don't like it, it doesn't mean other don't. gossip girl has the highest itunes and dvd and online ratings/buyings.   lawl bitch lawl go back to watching nikita :D

    VD is a sure thing. 
    Secret Circle is doing well. 
    I doubt that Supernatural and GG would be cancelled after so many seasons without having a final season renewal and both have a huge fan base on the internet. 
    I love Nikita but they have poor ratings.. BUT there is the Friday factor and that would mean moving another show to Friday nights and I don't see which one it could be.
    Hart of Dixie didn't have a strong comeback but they had a good fall in general
    I think Ringer didn't live up to their expectation with the SMG effect. I like the show and would be sad to be SMG less again on my TV, but it's not the best show ever either.
    I couldn't care less if 90210 is cancelled since I've never like that show but again maybe they would give them a 13 episode season finale.. 
    Ugghhh I don't know.. they ordered so many pilots. If they want to give the green lights to some of them they'll need to make room...

    Since I'm not an american, could somebody explain to me why they couldn't have more show like other networks ? The others air shows at 7 and at 10 and they also air shows on Sunday night.. just wondering

    I have no clue when it comes to predicting these things so I didn't vote. I just hope it's not Gossip Girl, Hart of Dixie or Secret Circle because they're the ones I enjoy watching the most. I also like Ringer but wouldn't be as bothered about it being cancelled as the others. 90210 and Nikita I don't watch.

    I'm not entirely sure...maybe you can research it or something, but I think with The CW it's budgetary issues that keep them from having Sunday/weekday 10:00pm programming. If they did though, they'd have to get something that repeats well, you know?

    Ok just a quick question... H8er was CW and was cancelled right? and One tree Hill is gone too right? how many shows do they have to cancel? Im Australian so I have no Idea whats going on... All I know is Nikita (my fave show) is doing the same as GG (which I gave up on it got so horrible) but being on Fridays should make Nikita safer because its a bad night? In my opinion 90210, Ringer and GG are the worst of this bunch... GG should go because its clearly going down anyway, Ringer I tried to like I watched the first 4 eps but it was atrocious in too many ways and 90210 just Blah :P

    Nikita is a brand name because there have been several movies and other TV shows spanning many years. The Fighting in Nikita is superb and it is very intricate to film and ACT in! Nikita also has many 'heartfelt, dramatic' scenes (especially this season) which further support the great acting on the show! Maggie Q is one of the biggest Asian stars in the world, she was in Die Hard 4, Mission Impossible 3 and several Jackie Chan Movies, she has worked with some of the biggest names in Hollywood and so can be considered an Int (International) star. Considering Nikita is on a Friday which is known to be the worst ratings day and also has very little advertising, and GG is on Monday and yet GG with all its guest stars and advertising is getting worse ratings... u should get ready for the end of GG coz it sure as hell wont last much longer! So u can go and mourn your 'Chair' or 'Dair' or whoever it is this week and I'll go watch Nikita because its awesome and full of surprises :P

    H8er and OTH are broadcasted in the same time slot.. The number of shows they will cancel probably depends on how many new shows they want for next fall. If the H8er and OTH time slot is used again for a reality show, they have no other time slot available.. According to me, it's really hard to tell which one will get cancelled since expect for VD they all have bad ratings, BUT there is the Friday factor, then there is iTunes and DVD sales (in which GG is doing really good).. Oh and Ringer got a lot better after the 4th episode, you should check it out again :)

    Well, somehow I can see Nikita (best CW show since Veronica Mars) renewed. H8R is gone, so it's one spot. Gossip Girl will likely get a final season on midseason (2 spots open for fall) along with one of the pilots. Ringer had a really long hiatus, and we know it's never good for a CW show, mix it with SMG paycheck and... 3 spots. I also really believe HoD will not survive. It just doesn't have strong ratings and a fan base and doesn't stand up to new promising shows (four... Nikita can stay. I don't think more than four pilots will be ordered for fall season series, and Cult is probably the only one who will make it to season 2, based on what I've read so far). 
    And also, friday factor is yet to be considered. Think of TSC ratings! ok, not bad! But they have Vampire Diaries as a lead in (Nikita also had, and did better last season). Just imagine how bad would 90210 and The Secret Circle would do on fridays. I'll tell you: much worse than Nikita. Keeping Nikita on fridays is choosing for safety, since they're not even considering puting a new show on fridays and and any of the shows they already have(excluding Supernatural - already on fridays - and TVD - we know they wouldn't), if put on fridays, would do worse than Nikita.

    Ringer needs to go!!! It's the worst show together with TSC! 
    HoD has a steady audience and hasn't suffered a major drop in ratings like TSC! And monday is a tough night so it may be given another chance and moved to a new night, tuesday perhaps?
    TSC storylines and cast are sooo horrible I can;t go through 1 scene without turning the TV off!! The show started off so well but dropped below 2 mln. To be honest I'm not surprised.
    Nikita used to be exciting but adding Michael has a kid storyline has crossed the line for me so I'll gladly see it go!! TSC would pair off well with SPN in it's place!!!
