  1. I loved it so much! The end with Lily and her father was so sweet and adorable. I'm so happy he came through for her!

And I also loved the stuff with Marshall and his dad, and of course, Puzzles. The duet was awesome!

LOL at Sandy Rivers. I love Alexis, so I hope he keeps coming back! (And he should be, considering he and Aly are married.)

And ugh, Kevin. What you did for Robin was sweet (It led to her getting back on air!), but you're still useless, so please GTFO already.

  2. I loved following Marshall and Lily - I'm so glad Lily finally connected a bit with her father, and Marshall capturing the true spirit of tailgating was heartwarming.  Robin's story took a turn for the better as well, as she tries to deal with the loss of a dream she didn't even know she had.  Ted and Barney's story, however, left me a little disappointed.  I thought it had a lot of promise, but overall I was kind of bored.

Also, I'm REALLY through with Kevin now.  He can go.  But seeing Alexis Denisof is always a plus!

  3. It was a great episode - so I voted great :)
LOVED the Ted, Barney and Puzzles stuff - and even Kevin was okay in that.
Lily and her Dad at the end was so sweet.
At least Kevin made Robin's career go forward to be amazing but it's really time for him to leave now!

  4. I'm taking it to mean that Kevin has served his purpose( cos he had done nothing up until now) by helping Robins career and he can go now! :)

  5. Great episode!

Loved the concept of Puzzles coming to fruition! I liked the callback to bouncer Doug and his bad toupee! XD

I liked Kevin a lot once again. He gives the show a much needed straight man for the others to play off. Plus he keeps Robin from falling back into Barney's gravitational pull. The longer those two are apart the better it is for the series. PERIOD.

Liked the closure for Marshall and his dad and the connection for Lily and her dad too. I'm so not looking forward to the baby though... sigh.

    Side note:
I feel so sorry for Alyson. I mean between being pregnant while pretending to not be and not being pregnant and pretending to be, that poor woman will have been pregnant for like 3 years straight by the time this plot plays out! XD

  6. I'm not sure if you know, but Aly's actually pregnant again with her second child. So she's real pregnant and pretending to be pregnant!

  7. Yep I knew.
I guess I meant she's pretending to be much further along in her pregnancy on the series right now than she is in real life.  Lily and Alyson need to sync up better! XDI would think they will wrap up the pregnancy in the series before she gives birth in reality. So then she will be back to being pregnant and pretending not to be. Depending on when they have her give birth on the series and when they resume filming for Season 8.

  8. Oh, I wasn't sure by your wording! It was a little confusing.

Actually, Aly mentioned on Twitter that she doesn't know the sex of her baby yet, so I'm assuming she's about four months along. Lily's due in May, and I'm guessing she'll have the baby in the season finale.

I'm guessing Aly's also due in May, but they'll be filming the finale in April. I assume filming will start back up in August like it usually does, so she'll be fine to film then.

    I think it works out!

  9. Maybe they did sync up then! Good for her.. or them... or her. XD

I knew she was pregnant but not that far along....

  10. LOL, it does sound like the pregnancies are synced! A+ timing, Aly and Alexis.

  11. Sandy Rivers is some funny stuff.

  12. It was an okay episode.

I think Marshall's story was really nice.  The puzzles subplot was a little disappointing, although I did like the song.  Robin's "big break" didn't seem as monumental HIMYM probably wanted it to.  Sandy Rivers was pretty funny though.

This episode finally convinced me that Kal Penn isn't really working on this show.  I just don't think the guy isn't cut out for the traditional 3-camera, studio audience sitcom.  His line readings aren't good and Penn seems awkward and out of place.  What makes it worse is that the stuff this show is writing for him is terrible.

Bad character, bad writing, bad casting.

  13. I was really sort of indifferent to the first half, but the end did elicit a couple tears. If anything, I can always admire the way HIMYM reminds us how unreliable our memories can be.

  14. I agree about Kevin. This was also the ep that convinced me he isn't well-suited for the show. Awkward is definitely the word. And his delivery doesn't pace with the rest of the show. idk.

  15. I thought it was a good episode.  It went for more touching moments than funny ones I thought.  Overall it was a good new years tribute.

  16. yeah, I agree...this show has been more emotional than funny lately, especially with this episode.  I really thought the Puzzles segment could have been funnier..

  17. The whole show has bad characters and bad writing. Barney`s jokes about women are lame and not that smart as they used to be with their double meanings. Ted is in the same position as Kevin for me. He`s boring. Marshall is really annoying with his big foot crap.

And I don`t understand how someone can say that Sandy Rivers is funny. That dude was baaaaad. He just got drunk and felt sorry for himself. I can get into any bar to see a dozen people like that.

When I watched some episodes from the first two seasons last week, I was reminded of what this show really was...It was funny. Over the past 3 years there have been just 7-8 great episodes. And it keeps getting worse. The mother should had been introduced by the end of season 4.

  18. Thank God there's someone else out there who likes Kevin and want him to stick around. I think he's great addition, and yes he should keep Barney and Robin apart, they just shouldn't be together.

  19. I think it was fantastic;) And the end was perfect. Loved it!

  20. Great episode....so glad to have it back on air!

  21. The stuff with marshall and his dad. Its played up a bit because well, its a tv show. but the essence of it is so eerily accurate
