Yeah I've just never been able to get into his character. I'm not sure why but something about him always rubbed me the wrong way. And after tonight, I'm just done with him. And I absolutely HATE him as Chief.
I actually love Owen and am glad he finally stood up for himself....screw christina and her selfish ways...he's right, she does whatever she wants. That fight scene was the best part of tonights epi.
i really liked how Owen stood up for himself, he had every right! wonder where his relation with Cristina is going after this... // teddy is totally a workaholic now, completly undestandable though... the baby portraying Zola is the cutest thing ever :) felt so bad for the kid, who's gonna die within 3 months :( It was great to see Adele again!!, she's amazing, but man! she was really hurt by the whole cheating thing, more than i ever imagined!, her scenes were so heartbreaking! i am soo looking forward to see more of her, not once every 12 episodes ¬¬ , but still it was so cool to finally see her again!
I loved how they went down with the Owen/Christina dynamic, and I will not pick a side. Both actors deserve some recognition for the rawness of that scene. Relationships ain't pretty, and they both have some pretty good reasons for how they feel. Maybe they could have avoided that blow out if they had talked sooner.
As of note, that scene where they laugh at him in the OR, I dunno why but I really felt sorry for Owen.
I feel like Owen should have not carried with this after the abortion, maybe he thought he could. And ironically, Christina is, although subconsciously, almost doing to Owen the same that Preston did to her. Obviously, because he loves her, but at the end they are both tearing each other apart.
There's something, odd, catch-22-like, about the Owen/Christina/Teddy drama. Christina took Teddy's side, because honestly, poor Teddy got screwed, and what Owen did was cruel. But Owen made the rational choice, as Chief, to not let the patient die, but he gets punished as a friend and as a husband because of the people involved.
Teddy sure got her grieving out of the way quickly. I agree with everybody that says Christina is "me first" and Kepner needs to have her lips glued shut and her hands sewn to her thighs. What a dumbass she is.
OK I'm sorry but Owen may have had merit to have this argument before but now No and not at a baby's birthday party i mean seriously it is obvious that he was jealous and hurt that he lost his friend but he can't just give a i'm sorry card and make it all better. Teddy is still in the grieving stage and Christina is helping her and to bring up the abortion is just low man really low. I mean i get that everyone sees Christina as being selfish and only her - although i have to ask, have we been watching the same show. This is after all the same woman who took care of Izzie, who cared for Owen even when he had PTSD AND choked her, who helped MerDer speak to Zola when they couldn't. Really she is not doing it for herself she was helping Teddy who is.. and i will repeat still grieving. So I'm sorry but this is a low point for Owen, but its a messy situation and its not going to settle for a while. Also he did agree with Christina that he wasn't going to change her the way that Burke tried to change her and a baby would do that. The dude could be patient just look how much she loves Zola give her time let her have her career first and see how she flourishes. Otherwise did you really want to bring a child in the world that felt unloved by her mother really?! Owen is soo cracking under emotional pressure of being chief.
On another note how cute was Zola she is a adorable, I love their little family. and they need to leave Sloane alone let him breath I loved how the chief handled his wife. I think that Mer should really go back to dealing with nero even though she is good with general surgery she was soo good with Adele, who was magnificent. I found that it was soo funny how she dealt with the sisters so mom like lol
Owen gos nuclear at Zola's party,i couldn't believe it but i saw it coming.Months ago i said it wouldn't work out between them, but when he said to Christina she murdered his child with such anger and venom, well that could never be taken back..Sure we know Christina can be selfish(there are other ways of looking at it) but she is so focused on becoming a great surgeon she doesn't have time for anything that will impede that, including and especially having a kid...
The anger he is feeling because right now he feels he lost a friend,Teddy is his own doing, but he is lashing it out on Christina. He never should have been made Chief,he has shown he doesn't know how to deal with being a Chief...
Adele i feel so bad and i cannot talk about it,it hits to close to home for me.
The little boy with the tumor just broke my heart! It's amazing how some little kids end up taking care of their parents and protecting their emotions, instead of the other way around. It was only a matter of time before Owen blew up, but I wasn't expecting it to happen like it did. I thought there were some fantastic performances last night, especially from Loretta Devine - I always love to see Adele back on the show, and she certainly didn't disappoint!
I was thinking the same thing.. they're making it so hard for us to hate her! Though ultimately, I'm convinced Mark and Lexie are meant for each other :)
I'm glad I'm not in the minority - I love Owen, too, and I think he's been quiet long enough about his future with Christina. She's super stubborn, and doesn't ever want to listen. It could have been handled better, but I'm glad he finally said something.
I thought it was about time he finally said something.. I think he went a bit too far with the "you killed our baby" comment, but Christina's been pretty selfish for a pretty long time, and it was time for someone to call her out on it.
i loved it when they did the family picture, zola screws up her nose so freaking adorable. Also when Patrick turn's the camera around and look's at it she point's to the screen and it sort of sounds like dada. God i pray they don't kill the little girl within the 3 months left in this season or ever actually i just want some happiness for mcfamily.
Decent episode. - Loretta Devine was fantastic. - The dying boy story was sappy. - It's about time Meredith gets over her mommy issues. I think Bailey may have helped with that a little. - So, Jackson, April, & Alex are moving in together? - Callie and Arizona were way too pushy with Mark. I'm glad he put an end to it. - This was a good Webber episode. I like it when they bulk up his role. - I don't think I would have considered firing Teddy and Cristina like Hunt suggested, but if I were Owen I would have definitely suspended them. - I can't see Owen and Cristina recovering from their relationship troubles.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteI agree with all of this. Owen REALLY pissed me off in this episode....I wasn't fond of him before this episode and now I just hate him.
ReplyDeleteMark and Lexie need to reunite ASAP.
The Adele situation is so darn heartbreaking. Wonderfully acted, though!
And MerDer's cute little family is just.....too adorable for words.
absolutely! if they don't at least get nominated it will be a travesty!
ReplyDeleteI liked Owen and I loved Owen/Cristina, but after this episode, I wouldn't mind if they divorced. That was just so completely wrong.
ReplyDeleteYeah I've just never been able to get into his character. I'm not sure why but something about him always rubbed me the wrong way. And after tonight, I'm just done with him. And I absolutely HATE him as Chief.

Honestly, it's really fucked up.
agree with you in every single thing

ReplyDeleteThere was some absolutely fantastic acting in that scene.. very well done.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe she's just done with the grieving process.. one breakdown and she's fine?
ReplyDeleteI think it's only a matter of time :)
ReplyDeleteJust getting into this show now. Pls don't quiz me on names.
ReplyDeleteLove the episode. Love Webber singing to his wife.
