Desperate Housewives - Season 8 - Major Death Coming

Death watch on Wisteria Lane!

EW has learned that a major character will meet her (or his) demise in an episode of Desperate Housewives that’s currently shooting in Burbank, CA.

The cast just learned about the shocking death this week. ABC won’t spill details — we don’t know if its one of ladies or one of the husbands — but the pivotal passing will air in March.

Though the actor obviously won’t appear in the much-anticipated finale, at least he or she will be available for pilot season. Many pilots have already been ordered for fall 2012 consideration and casting has begun.

Production on the final season of Desperate Housewives doesn’t wrap until late April.

    is "major" the same as "long running" character? because if it's not, then it could be Ben, or Renee not necessarily one of the main housewives.. or it could be Karen to, i read somewhere her cancer's gonna be back, and it was going to be bad!

    It's probably a long-running character or an important character, not Ben, or Renee. Probably a housewife (not the top-four ladies) or a husband of a housewife.

    Karen McClusky's character will never die, I read that creator Marc Cherry will never kill her character off.

    I think it's McCluskey. Cherry promised her he wouldn't kill her off, but most likely in the sense that he wouldn't write her off the show. The series is ending, so who dies in the end... doesn't make much of a difference, does it? She can still appear in the finale, even if she dies before that, so why not kill her off? I'm sure even Kathryn Joosten was excited to play out this cancer story, and Bob Daily hinted that they might not live up to Cherry's earlier promise...

    Probably Mrs. McClusky. No way will any of the main 4 not be in the finale. Ben's death wouldn't even be worth spoiling. It could be one of the husbands as one of them was rumored to be biting it. I could see Mike being killed off in some showdown with one of Ben's men.
