This is the final ratings round up I'm doing for a big network, the next two will be dedicated to major cable channels having aired scripted series these past few months : FX, AMC, Showtime and HBO. You'll see more pictures in those two threads, that's for sure - although shows having a picture represents under no circumstances the one I think are worth watching, ;).
In case you missed any of the ratings round up I did for the past 4 days, here they are :
Part I - CBS : Killer at Procedural Land
Part II - The CW Diaries
Part III - Once Upon a Time, ABC had good ratings...
Part IV - The new girl is FOXy
Part V - NBC or the story of the peacock on fire
Part VI - AMC and FX, complex ratings on basic cable
Part VII - Showtime and HBO, or where the ratings don't matter (or do they ?)

Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWoah.
ReplyDeleteQuite terrible, isn't it?
Poor NBC
ReplyDeleteLOL : Shitney :)
It really is sad when your best hour-long shows are all mediocre rated shows most other networks would cancel....
ReplyDeleteGoing out backwards and they're getting rid of Chuck.
ReplyDeleteIf they keep this trend up in a couple of years the cw will have higher ratings. I love tv and watch shows on this network and have been guilty of making fun of there ratings but I do hate to see it happen to any network.
ReplyDeletesolid #'s for SVU
ReplyDeleteHow is Shitney doing better in ratings then Community?
ReplyDeleteMe too and it is sad. Never in my wildest dreams did i ever think NBC would be in the position it is in today....They really need to do something...
ReplyDeleteThe only NBC show I watch right now is Grimm, and it is getting good numbers, for NBC on a Friday, so it should be safe.
ReplyDeleteThey have Awake coming up in 2 months, but I expect that to bomb worse than most the shows they have on now.
Next season they have Isabel (kids fantasy comedy), The Munsters (a darker version), and Beautiful People (intelligent robots). The last 2 have a bit of potential, but since it is NBC, I am setting my expectations low.
The last couple years they have produced some awful genre tv: Persons Unknown, The Cape, The Event. They quickly ran Heroes into the ground.
That is a fairly accurate typo actually.
ReplyDeleteShitney. LMAO.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Community and Parks seems to be in sort of the same boat. Parks doing only slightly better. So why all the talk of a possible Community cancellation but not one for Parks? Does Parks have a better demo? Still, that can't help much. I guess I just figured Parks was doing better because no one ever talks as if it will get canned.
It's kind of sad to see what used to be such a major network slowly going down the toilet. They're good in the comedy department, but they really have got to get it together.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, HOW is freakin Shitney doing better than Community? I mean, SERIOUSLY!!!!
ahahahaha "Shitney"! :D
ReplyDeleteHmmm not looking like an awful lot of good news for NBC with those numbers.
ReplyDeleteFrom listening to the commentaries for Community, Dan Harmon states that Parks and any other documentary style show costs a lot less to produce than Community. So that's possibly a factor as well.
ReplyDeleteBut yeah, I hope Shitney's rating plummet so Community has a better chance of continuing. Six seasons and a movie!!
Thank you! Sad to see how low the ratings really are
ReplyDeleteAh, good call. That could certainly be a factor.
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
ReplyDeleteThey deserve these ratings flops. This is what happens when you have an itchy trigger finger and you pull all the best shows way too quickly because you don't have the faith or patience to let them gather pace.
ReplyDeleteStudio 60 was brilliant but they thought they could do better on a Monday night in that slot. They couldn't. Journeyman was very solid but not supported. The Event was great but treated awfully. You take a serialised show off the air for months and expect people to give a damn when it returns with no hype?! Heck, even Joey was amazing compared to the 'comedy' they have now but it was gone. Oh, and you have a promising new show in the form of Awake and they're destroying it before it even airs.
No, these morons deserve most of this. The only reason Chuck has lasted this long is because they have nothing to replace it with. The other networks all have history in ending shows before their time but never as consistently and ridiculously as NBC does.
There is something wrong with people who will tune into watch Shitney and not Community ... the snookis and the kardashians have ruined the world!
ReplyDeleteOnce Community comes back in a new timeslot where BBT won't draw away some of their viewers, they'll get enough of a ratings bump to keep them around for a fourth season. Here's hoping Up All Night does poorly enough at 9:30... Plus a fourth season would put Community over the syndication hump (that's the entire reason Chuck got its fifth season), so there's reason to be optimistic that it isn't done yet.
ReplyDelete
