    wow i really liked it. I really hope the series gets renewed i think it has a lot of potential. I really like Skye and really hope they dont kill her off in the finale (she was actually the one im betting on but also the main one i dont want to be killed how sad!), Maddy's C story was a nice tiny story, and i just liked the overall story! All i can say pretty much is, Ladys and Gentleman grab a seat, some dinner and get ready for the ride that is the Terra Nova Season (hopefully not series) finale!

    I also agree that once they got off the heavy family drama writing/storytelling and focused on tightening the overarching mythology that the show seemed to find it's feet. I was a bit irritated with the Skye character, although I get her portrayed motivations, that being a supposedly smart individual that she could come clean to Cmdr Taylor and that he would find some way to get her mother out from under the sixers. I didn't understand that she could've taken the stuff that they were treating her mother with and synthesize it, seeing how all those scientific minds and doctors were there.... In any event a great ep and I look forward to the finale and hope that the series will continue.

    No surprise the best episodes have been mythology based and not about the family Taylor....

    This was probably the best episode, but still did not overwhelm me. Less family and less VFX so that was good, but the overall story and writing are still weak to me. Every episode there are always a few writing errors (in my eyes) and this episode was no exception.

    First, You have a spy who you know is not giving you full information and is still basically on Taylor's side.... so you then decide to tell said spy the time and place and general plan to the the destruction of Terra Nova. Then you proceed to not care if she runs back to tell Terra Nova? Seriously?!? Any real military or para-military group would place the spy under lock and key until the operation was complete... if not kill her. You have the information needed to accomplish your goal, why keep her alive? Just nonsensical.

    Second, who stands in front of an active portal knowing there are energy bursts from it? The gate starts to activate and they all decide to stand directly in front - in direct line of fire if unknowns were coming through by the by - so the energy burst can conveniently knock out all of them. That was just silly. They would have gone to the side under cover of the trees and brush to have direct line of sight on the rift "focuser" gate and none would have been hit by the blast created by Taylor.

    Third, the entire idea that now this impending doom is coming to Terra Nova is overly reactionary. They discussed in the episode how pilgrims came through at random spots until they had the rift focuer. Well jassuming it can be moved, ust put the rift focuser in a spot that makes the SIxers' bosses exit the gate in a controlled location that is secure and can weed out the trouble or at a minimum get their weapons away. Worst case scenario you make them exit in the lake or in a cave and blow up the cave or let them come through and then light the prepared forest around them on fire. Problem solved. If the focus ring cannot be moved just dismantle it and let them risk coming through in some deathtrap location.....

    Maybe you would lose the entire 11th pilgrimage, but Terra Nova would still exist and that is the goal that serves the higher purpose. By the time the 12th pilgrimage would be scheduled to arrive they could have a more secure location and a system in place to deal with the incoming threat.

    I feel I need to see it out and watch the finale, but if the series gets renewed my viewership stops at the finale

    ya know, i really liked this ep until i read your comments. so i re-watched it. i've come to the conclusion that i watch TV for very different reasons than you, because after second viewing, i still liked it!

    Ha!  That's what great about TV.
    Although honestly I do not watch for accuracy or plot logic, I just notice faults like that immediately on any any story-driven series. With escapist TV like the USA Network series or the lighter network shows I don't generally care about the need for realism, but I do with serial programs I guess.

    Regardless of the story issues I had I thought this episode was one of the best of the series.

    99.9% of TV is cotton candy for my brain! but this show for some odd reason just resonated with me- i think for the Heinlein elements buried deep in the core of the mythology, it's always fun to see how other ppl take and use these.

    i'm hoping for a season 2 just to see how it all plays out.

    Yeah last night probably was one of the best and yet i was still disappointed.Next week will probably be the last,and i am still waiting for this show to live up to its potential..Lets see how they defend Terra Nova,maybe we will even get a few T-Rex involved in the action?
