Meh, I'm still a lil annoyed that they have an Elyan episode this week that just seems to be filler rather than him dealing with his behaviour last week. He and Gwen have always been solid and close, yet he lets her be discarded so easily and without even talking to her :s
I think that it would have been much better last week if Gwen hadn't been controlled by the bracelet, and then talked to her brother about her feelings truthfully. There was a foiler circulating before the season started that Morgana took on Gwens form for the kiss scene. If that had happened, after knowing that Gwen had doubts but didn't act on them would have been a better plot imo :(
I know I've already said his, but Merlin needs more shades of grey rather than every character being just good or just evil unless magic is used to control them do the opposite. I love this show, and would like nothing better than for it tackle these kind of adult decisions that we all face, instead of cheap story telling in which each episode, essentially, is stand alone.
Oh exactly. It doesn't really bother me that much, but I think that Merlin does need to show the greys of characters especially the main ones. That's why I like Morgana so much because her journey to evil was shown and it isn't like she just became evil.
Yeah, it doesn't usually bother me too much, I think it was probably the hype of last weeks episode. The 'massive' cliffhanger had to be Gwen's banishment I assume, but since we had all seen the kiss in the promo and the parts of the fight after it, it wasn't massive or very cliffhangery for me, lol.
I agree about Morgana, her progression towards Morgan la Fay has been great. I especially loved the line Queen Annis (Lindsay Duncan) said to her about how she was more like Uther than she thought. Great moment, and I hope they make more of these kinds of mirrors in the future :D
Yeah-- but that is the price of over hyping the episode you know? Although it just came off as depressing and just annoying.
I know!! I think that Katie also brings some great dimension to Morgana. She isn't just evil--she is mainly just really sad and messed-up with evil thrown in for good measure. She is the most interesting character on Merlin for me at least
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
YAY!
