Winter is coming for the characters of Westeros, the world of George R.R. Martin's series A Song of Ice and Fire. For us television viewers, Game of Thrones season two is also coming, sometime in April 2012. And we'd all better be prepared.

In the book's opening pages—and the television's show's wonderful opening—we get to see maps of Westeros. But the maps in the books are broken down into several pages. Fan, artist and cartographer Ron Guyatt came to a map-reader's rescue by collating all of the data and turning it into one awesome piece of art

    Awesome map indeed! I wish I could find a UHQ photo of it.... 
    This is the best I could find.

    A couple of the other HQ maps I have found for Westeros and Essos here.
