  2. When I read about a series containing teens of any kind, it just turns me off and here they mentioning two of them!
Why do writers feel we must always have at least one annoying teen in around; go understand.

  4. Why is an  underage teenager working at a bar as part of a probation? That makes no fucking sense. It's like you're asking her to do something illegal!

  5. I'd like an explanation for that one too.  I know that if you're 18 you can work in an establishment that serves alcohol but you can't be the one serving or handling it.  However, this character is not 18 which makes this whole scenario completely looney tunes.

  6. John Fogerty!?  Cool.  I like me some John Fogerty.

  7. I worked in a bar as a teen (about 16-17) serving food, cleaning, etc.  And once I hit 18 I was legally allowed to serve alcohol so long as I was working with someone who was 21 or older.

    Still, I wasn't on probation.

Maybe she damaged the bar and working there is part of reparations?  All I can think of is that her crime had some direct impact on the bar and she's being ordered to repair the damage or something.  Guess we'll see!

  8. Interesting.  The laws regarding something like this must vary from state to state, and judges do have a lot of latitude when it comes to juvenile crime.  Thanks for the informative post.
