Will be interesting to see how they work this out.
ReplyDeleteBeen waiting for a while for Debra to find out Dexter's secret. I hope she covers for him and sort of takes over for Harry.
ReplyDeleteI hope Debra will help him!
ReplyDeleteI doubt that she will cover for him somehow. It would be awesome but i really doubt it cause she is a "good" cop
ReplyDeleteI choose Other. They will make out on the scene, since there is where this crappy incest story seems to be going...
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling that the first thing she'll do is run away (storm out), and that then Dex will then be hasty in his cleanup trying to do damage control. His first instinct will be self preservation so he will entertain the idea that he will need to kill her. I think Ghost Brian may reappear for some fun with Dex's emotions and to try and coax him into it.
ReplyDeleteBut after all that I think Dex will reason with Deb that this was a one time thing, and that he was doing to Travis only what Travis did to his victims, out of revenge for not only his own close brush with death over Travis' actions, but also for the potentially deadly abduction of his son. Then Deb will delude herself into believing him, but she will be having mixed emotions, and be wary of him.
Then at some point Geeky intern guy will bring more light to the Dexter situation and Deb will begin to find more weirdness in Dex's past actions. This will eventually lead to her having to let Dexter go from the Miami Metro, and he will then probably go off the deep end at some point, (unbridled killing) forcing Deb into having to try to catch and imprison him. That could go a few different ways though, depending on the end game that the writers have decided Dexter's fate to be.
Will Dex allow himself to go to prison knowing that Deb will look after Harrison? Or will Dex go out in a blaze of glory, while still knowing Deb will take Harrison? Will Dex get crazy and commit a murder suicide with his son? (probably not but worth mentioning)? Or will Dex loose his battle with a future "playmate" leaving Deb to take care of Harrison? Will Dex develop some terminal illness that will take him slowly, and force him to come to terms with his past, and to also make ready his legacy? Will the show end with Harrison taking on the mantle of Dexter's legacy, or will Harrison be spared this fate? Or will none of that happen and Dex go on doing what he does with Deb's blessing, (I just don't see this happening no matter how much Deb is in love with Dex) and end up with an open ending thus leaving the books to continue on (well maybe they will do this after all). Or will Dex walk out of his house one fine day and get run over by a bus?
So many possibilities, and 24 more hours of episodes to tell it in...
Its like this whole season was a joke and the "oh god" was the punchline.
ReplyDeleteThis was an ok season, better than the last (lumen irritated me) but it flew by.
My feeling is that it will be explained away as a one off. With Trinty having been brought up this season, and Debs knowing that Dex went off to try and find him, it could all be talked round to being tied in with Rita's death maybe.
ReplyDeleteThey finally did it! I knew this would be the season but wow, they finally did it. I know Deb will cover, eventually, for Dex, that's what they were trying to build up to with Matthews, I just hate the whole incestuous situation they have going, I would prefer it was Dexter's dream or something, I mean really... Deb goes to the therapist's office and Dex is still talking to Travis? He had a good head start on her...
ReplyDeletepoor editing.. they were trying to build suspense.
ReplyDeleteIf i didn't know the series was coming back i would have said she turns him in,but since we do know i have to go with her covering for him.
ReplyDeletemission not accomplished... well, these last two season better be the thing since sliced bread, they have a clear end date, which, according to 'Lost' creators/writers, helps. They should have a clear end game. I think I want Dexter to get caught in the end and have Deb kill him as he goes down in a blaze of glory then cut to 20 years later (full of montages of Deb and Harrison) and then the final scene in LA (almost every real serial killer has spent time in So Cal, it's a fact, look it up) and Harrison is on a boat (prepping a kill room), we see a shot of Dexter's slide box and we see Harrison's box, it's empty for now.
ReplyDeleteIn the books she covers for him since the first one. (end of the first book differed from the end of the series, she woke up for Brian and Dexter's dialogue so she was clued into the Dexter serial killer thing since then.)
ReplyDeleteOh god I hope not, that would be so awful..
ReplyDeleteI hope she ends up covering for him and helping him, but not like in the kill room, that would be too repetitive, like Lumen and Prado, I hope she just helps him track bad guys/ gives him lists of people she knows the police will never catch that she thinks Dexter could.
ReplyDeleteNot exactly sure whay they are going to do, but I have been WAITING for this moment to happen.
ReplyDeleteI really hope she doesn't become Commissioner Gordon to Dex's Batman, way too predictable, and talk about repetitive. They will have to be at odds for this show to work out. There will have to be a season of her going after him. (8 probably). But before that she will try to let it happen either against her better judgement, or he'll convince her she saw a one time thing in that church.
ReplyDeleteI can't see it being anything other than her covering for him to be honest
ReplyDeleteShe was going to cover for Captain Matthews, who paid for a prostitute, got her high, killed her with CPR, then fled the scene. I'm sure she'll cover for her brother, who she holds in a new, much higher regard than she did the captain.
ReplyDeleteDebra covers for Dexter because of the stupid she is in love with him storyline which needs to die a death
ReplyDeleteWas I the only who wanted Quinn off the show? I was hoping the transfer would work out, so bummed
ReplyDeleteI think all of the above, except killing together, will be debated during the first episode, but eventually she will storm out, Dex will try to explain it and then she'll cover for him. He can't be much fun to watch if he's in jail and I can't believe he'll ever kill Deb. Of course it's possible that Deb gives him a head start and he'll take the show on the road but I can't imagine that being fun to watch either. Oh.. and I was getting all exciting about the "I'm in love with my foster brother" weirdness. now I have no idea really what to expect
ReplyDeleteOh no, I love Quinn! :/ He's so inappropriate and useless I actually find it funny.
ReplyDeletePpl seem to have forgotten that Deb has already covered for Dexter with the Jordan Chase kill.
ReplyDeleteAnd Debra ain't stupid, she will put it together, the accusations of Sergant Doakes, Brian and maybe the trinity killer (he want after all to that town to visit the son).
I think the most likely thing that will happen is that after Dexter explaining, Deb storms out and takes sic leave for a month or so, trying to avoid Dexter at all costs. What happens after that.. No idea :)
Maybe some sort of cooperation.
Debra is shocked and she will spend all the next season in therapy
ReplyDeletewho cares, Dexter will make up a beatiful story about kidnapping Harrison and revenge of the father. i will be surprised if that moment really has some really big influence on the main plot of the next season
ReplyDeleteDont know about that ending I think dexter wants to keep harrison pure although the logical conclusion of the show is that either dexter will be caught or his dark passenger will go away. Which would make the reason for season 5 being the introduction of the idea that a dark passenger can be removed.
ReplyDeleteDexter can always says that Doom's day killer tried to kill his son but wont explain why Dexter had his whole ritual laid out with the table and his kill tools
ReplyDeleteI hope Debra will help him!
