except for the incredibly sucky vfx in the beginning intro, the episode was awsome. It was nice and fun to watch be more relaxive. I liked the fishing trip (the islands vfx was ok but the the rest including the fish kinda sucked), the whole maddy story was fun and i was interested the whole episode to find out more so that worked, Josh wasnt very deceptive so it made the story not as much fun and i will be very surprised if they still dont realize the bar guy is the spy.. Zoey was cute to watch and the rest of the cast was fun. It was a fun episode and took another step in the tn vs sixer story With taylor getting his own spy, and more insight to the characters. It was well done I think except for the first 30 seconds lol.
i enjoyed it but it wasnt a huge big story heavy episode so that may be a factor. This episode was character driven and most shows have a couple episodes a season of character mainly which i enjoyed.
Anyone else see a problem with fishing for 200 pound sailfish from the top of a cliff? Forget about it pulling you into the water (like almost happened) imagine pulling up a struggling 200 pound fish up a high cliff face! I will not even begin to discuss the terrible VFX!
The blight beetles did look a bit like golden snitches from Harry Potter! XD
The ancestral Komodo dragon was kind of fun, but I don't get the neck frill at all.
I'm so sick of the Shannon Kids doing dumbass things to put their lives in danger as plot devices. These kids would have gotten themselves killed multiple times over already if they acted this rediculously moronic. Let them die already... sometime you have to cull the herd!
Decent episode, but at best it was middle of the pack episode for me. It did push a few plotlines forward... so that's always good. The episode was more about everyday life than the overarching story. I was hoping that after introducing Lukas Taylor we would get more information about what he is doing and about why he is against his dad etc... Total filler episode that need not be watched again.
Missed the first part so i have no idea why they were fishing. Is Terra Nova running out of protein? As always, Taylor was the best thing in the episode for me. I'm disappointed we didn't get any closer to knowing what his son is up to or why they are estranged. We didn't really forward the future plot much either. While I enjoyed Maddie, Girl Detective, she needs to realize when she is over her head and get help. If someone kidnaps your little sister, you go get help not meet them in the orchard. For the ubersmart geek she can be as equally stupid as the rest of her siblings. Josh needs to be imprisoned to keep from getting himself killed and Zoey was as useless to this story as she usually is. What was the point in having her again? To prove you too can time travel in a book bag? In the end, the episode was a decent piece of fluff but I'd really enjoy it if a dinosaur would snack on some Shannons.
They were fishing just as a plot device to find Curran's camp and have Taylor face off with the ancestral Komodo. No other reason despite them saying it was a down time for Taylor and Shannon both and and Taylor likes to fish to relax.....
Maddy is indeed the embodiment of the "book smart", but no "common sense" person.I agree on the rest of you points... other than I think Josh would find a way to accidentally kill himself in prison. Choke on the bar of soap, stick his tongue into some electrical socket electrocuting himself, trip over his own feet and crack his school on the steel toilet or maybe drown while drinking from the bowl....
it should be josh if any. I like Maddy and Zoey their fun to me but Josh is boring except for sometimes when he's with skye. I like skye lol. They were just fishing for fun, well we do know stuff about the future tho new stuff. Mira can talk to people in the future which we've been told by taylor that they cant do that except a few times when the future opens the portal (that sounded odd lol). Mira had josh talk to the gf so thats a step up in the future plot and it surprised me.
yea and although i thought josh about to blast the doors was kinda stupid. I kept thinking to myself it was going to backfire because u dont blast any wave type gun at something hard and close because that will knock u back hard because your close. I learned that from other sci fi shows lol.
I learned a similar lesson when my friend was installing and customizing his cars stereo system years ago (he used to do competitions, don't ask me why).
He turned up the stereo and played a very bass-y song to test his sub-woofers - with all the windows closed - and he cracked his windshield. XD (I think their was a divet from road gravel or something, but I honestly saw it crack and spiderweb out a few inches when the bass wave boom hit)
I never laughed so hard in my life! Thankfully I waited outside the truck when he tested it.....
Bwah! Josh does have some idiocy issues. The break-in was as farcical as Terra Nova gets. If fishing means more Taylor scenes and less Terra Nova drama, then I say they make it a regular feature.
Josh and Cara must have been too busy mooning over themselves to get a basic grasp of Newton's law in science. No female is ever going to be interested in Josh for his brains.
I guess I always assumed Mira could talk to them so it didn't seem like such a big deal to me. I would take Maddy's soldier knight over Skye any day but she does make Josh more bearable usually. Still if the dinos had a Shannon 5-course meal I would be cheering instead of shedding tears.
Surprisongly not too bad of an episode where the Shannon kids were prominently featured.. Well, more accurately I didn't mind the Maddie storyline (as it was far better than the sappy courtship stuff that she figured in up to now), as for Josh... liked that he came clean to his folks, but pretty much feel that he needs to be nipped/stalked by an ancient Komodo like right now.... Little tidbits of forward progress, but definitely not enough.
i enjoyedd the episodee! i was kinda surprised josh told the parenttss that he helped the sixerss and about the bartender because i thought that would happn in the finalee but still goodd!!
See, now - I didn't buy the gf being in the right place at the right time to talk to him. And Mira not completely slapping down Mr. Silly Pants. I think it was 'simply' some kind of holographic creation: maybe it was a bad actor but it just didn't scan for me.
Annoying teenage boy...was annoying..with the exception of following some good advice and demanded proof oh and having the um...guts.. to come clean about the theft. The one kid I had liked...got stuck in subplot that I never got involved in. I still would like for the community (i.e. a regular cast) to grow and be more interesting. I liked the komodo story and the sending the exiled dude to the sixers as a spy. Not my favorite so far.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Not my favorite episode.
ReplyDeleteThe Sixers can talk to the future, that's interesting!
