  1. I have a hard time with Emily being so obnoxious with Nolan.  He's her only real ally and you think she'd be smart enough to stop being so witchy to him.  He knows her secret.  He helps her with all the tech stuff she can't do.  She needs to back off and show some thanks, psychopath that she is.  She can always kill him when he's outlived his usefulness.

  2. I haven't been this excited about a new show for years, I'm loving it more and more each episode. It doesn't try to be any more than it is, it's just great soapy fun. It's a shame that it's probably going to end up a one season wonder, it might get renewed but I don't see how the storyline can stretch.

Although it was obvious Tyler wasn't totally straight, I never really suspected Nolan, so I didn't see that coming, but I loved it. Nolan is a great character, and he actually seems to care about Emily (in a brotherly way), I hope it doesn't turn out that he's playing her. I've read that they realised they had more to tell with Tyler's story (pushing the shooting reveal to episode 15), hoping Nolan is involved in some way. :D

  3. Wow, I did not expect Frank to connect everything in one ep,but kudos to the writers for doing so and murking up the plans for Emily somewhat. LOVE that Nolan got get his shark on and got some action for himself, but hope that it doesn't open him up to whatever Tyler might possibly do. Even though I'm hoping against it, I like that the made it like that Ashley might become a sidekick to Tyler, giving her character an edge but I wouldn't think that she would go against her friend Emily... Really don't like the Declan character at all still, as it didn't make sense for him to attack Emily in front of everyone. Sure, he was defending his brother, but I don't think that he would know anything about Emily "making Jack think that they had something" when it barely seems that Jack and him speak that much, and besides you think that Declan would at least think that Daniel is a decent guy after he paid off the lobster fishermen that Declan stole from to keep them from beating his multi-ring wearing ass, and wouldn't want to offend him... that was the only part that I thought wasn't written well...

  4. I have the same problem.  My cousin tried to explain her theory to me.  Something about her trying to push Nolan away because he's trying to horn in on the main focus of her life.  Made sense to my cousin...I'm not really sure I buy that explanation.

  5. Another fun hour.  I knew Frank's meeting wasn't going to fare well.  I love that we've hit a point where the unexpected is starting to toss monkey wrench after monkey wrench.   And the questions!  Biggest one is the Warden.  Mentor?  How?

So, question for you guys...do y'all think she's really starting to fall for Daniel?  I can't decide.  I was starting to think so tonight, and then she told Daniel she was and I didn't believe her.

  6. I was worried that the show wouldn't have enough stuff happening to sustain it.  Much as I enjoyed the first few episodes everyone she was taking down went down too easily.  But these last few episodes have me convinced that if they do get another season there will be enough fun to be had.

  7. OMG I never knew Nolan was gay. Do you think Tyler doesn't like Emily because he is secretly in love with Daniel

  8. I think Tyler doesn't like Emily because she is a threat to whatever plans he had to ingratiate himself into Daniel's family.  He's a malicious con artist and I think he will take down anyone he perceives is standing in his way.  I don't think he actually likes Daniel, as a friend or other, but he needs him right now to get in good with his father.

  9. I think we are supposed to think she is but I didn't buy the "I love you" either.  It seemed way to desperate and staged to keep things going with Daniel.  I have to say I think the warden angle is most peculiar too.  I presume Emily bought her cooperation but I can't be sure.  Also it was far too easy for Frank to get that info after the warden just said he was trouble.  Not sure at all where this is leading.  Ashley provides another mystery in the spokes.

  10. I agree about Declan .. He sure claimed his place in my less favorite character on this show..

  11. I can see where Emily is coming from because Nolan isn't her ally by choice.  Nolan forcibly inserted himself into all of Emily's plans and, even though he has been helpful, he still tried to spy on her and he can't fully be trusted.

  12. Since Emily is apparently fine with murder, maybe Amanda could ask her to bump off Tyler while she's at it?  I really, really hate that character.

  13. That's my take on Tyler as well. I hate his character with a vengeance. ;)

  14. I do not think she's falling for him.  She seemed genuinely heart-broken telling Jack that she "Was".  And when she said it to Daniel, it did seem fake.  Then there is the kiss at the end, no passion towards Daniel, all the passion was between her hand and the swing that Jack fixed.

  15. The "It" being that she is falling in love with him, of course.

  16. She is not fine with murder.  You can see her angrily saying in the promo, "You didn't have to kill him", to the real Emily Thorne.

I do not see her getting Tyler killed off(though maybe the real Emily Thorne will do it without being asked, as she did Frank?).  With that guess, though, it would be with Tyler being the one dead on the beach.  (The creator said that he extended "The shooting" to episode 15, as he wanted to extend the "Tyler" storyline.  That tells me Tyler is going to be around at least until episode 15).

  17. I actually loved that Declan spoke his mind. He cares a lot about his brother and I see why he didn't at all like seeing Emily and Daniel at the dinner. Yes, he could have waited with his outburst until he an Ems and Daniel (well, and Charlotte) are alone somewhere, but I kinda understand why he didn't. He wouldn't even have mentioned it if he had felt at least a little bit accepted by Charlottes mom or if he wouldn't have felt like Charlotte used him simply to annoy her mom.

Just like Charlotte said ... he was probably the first one to ever really say the truth. And as harsh as it can sometimes be, it's needed. He didn't do it to hurt anyone, but he did it because he wanted everyone to be honest and stop pretending or playing any games.
I think Declan is just generally not trusting those rich people because to him, it's all lies. He doesn't even trust Charlotte 100%, even though he's falling more and more for her with every episode. He sees them as self-centered people who get away with everything 'cause as soon as it gets tough, they just write a check and then all's ok again. He doesn't like that. He doesn't trust it. He's honest when it comes to his feelings and he feels that the others are not and he was majorly pissed off by that. (And he was right, imo)

Oh, and I agree about Frank. I mean, we knew he was good at figuring stuff out, but THAT was fast.
And I also agree about Nolan and Tyler. But I'm kind of afraid that that's what's gonna happen. Emily still doesn't really like the idea of working with Nolan, but if Tyler starts to become somewhat of a weird ally to him who works - and such *cough* - with him voluntarily (or whatever you might wanna call it) ... well ... not good.

Also, I agree about Ashley. I hope she won't take the wrong side, and I think she wouldn't work against Emily, but I think Tyler will somehow get her to (you know, without Ashley even knowing that whatever they're doing, it's not good for Ems). It's a pity. I like Ashley. I hate Tyler. With a passion (but I think a show needs characters one doesn't like. To keep it interesting). I think I'll start disliking Ashley if they deepen hers and Tyler's relationship.

  18. To me, it seems that she really truly likes Daniel. A lot. And more than she'd just like any normal friend. BUT. I don't think she loves him. It rather seems like she WANTS to love him. When she told Daniel she's scared 'cause she's falling in love with him, it rather seemed to me like she meant Jack. Jack is the one link from her past she'd love to share everything with and even more importantly, the only good thing she still connects with the Hamptons. I don't think she's falling in love with any of them yet, but I think it's quite difficult for her to understand how exactly she feels for Jack right now and she scared of what might happen if she starts feeling more for him. So much that she almost wants to force herself to fall in love with Daniel.

I'm not saying she's just using Daniel. Maybe in the beginning, but not anymore. But I also don't believe her when she's saying she's in love with him.

Also, the last scene when she and Daniel kissed on the bench. The way she gripped the arm rest ... I don't know, but usually writers give hints with this, especially since that object has been quite an important metaphor these last couple of episodes.

  19. To be honest, I guessed that Tyler was gay and that his parents don't have any money (anymore) right from the start and my first thought was also that he might be slightly in love with Daniel. But it doesn't make sense. He's working too much against Daniel as well. He'd rather protect him then do him bad. But still, he needs him. But not for long anymore.

He doesn't want to be a brotherly figure for Daniel. Nor does he want to be seen as one of the best friends of the family because he's their son's best friend. What he wants is to replace Daniel. He wants to be everything their family would want for Daniel to be and he's doing the best he can to show Daniel's parents that Daniel is exactly NOT what they'd like him to be, but that he himself is.

  20. But Amanda (we're talking about the real Amanda here who actually lived in the Hamptons with her father David before, right? *confusion*) actually doesn't want for people to die. She wants to destroy them. But she doesn't want them to get killed (well, of course ... they can't suffer for the rest of their lives if they're dead *g* that's not the reason, but it makes sense as well).

Oh, but I hate Tyler too. But then again I think a show needs characters like that because it'd get quite boring otherwise. I'm looking forward to yelling at my TV again and again when Tyler does something annoying for as many episodes as possible.

  21. But the real Emily Thorne only killed Frank because he was a threat to their arrangement. As long as Tyler doesn't figure anything out (and even though he's an a**, he doesn't know enough at all to ever figure out the truth about "Emily Thorne" all by himself) about her actual reasons to come back to the Hamptons, the real Emily Thorne won't have any reason to kill him. I don't think she's a killer. She had a motive to kill Frank. As long as she doesn't have one to kill anyone else, I think she won't.

  22. Yes, I was using the characters actual names and not their adopted aliases.

As for the murder comment, I was being glib.  I know Emily (Amanda) doesn't want to kill anyone.  I just don't want Tyler around anymore.

  23. Awesome as always! but i'm curious about what they plan to do in case the show gets a second season.

  24. You reminded me...I was thinking.... even if she falls for Jack, especially right now, she really can't do anything about because If, through some miracle, she were able to say "Jack, I do like you but we can't be together right now because I have to do *this*."  There is no way Jack would approve.

  25. my mind tripped into the gutter for a second there.

  26. She did not hesitate for one second to kill him.  She is most certainly a killer.  Who knows what she was in the Juvenile Detention Center for to begin with.
