I spent an hour getting needles jabbed into my spinal canal. And then I watched Bones.
Thank you, painkillers.
Ok. It wasn't THAT bad. I did notice how the rest of the cast is stepping up during Emily's pregnancy. Seems like she's not getting as much face time. Not that I would blame her. Booth/Sweets not working for me yet.
I'm very displeased with the 'twist' that got them together so I'm more than a bit biased against this season. Hopefully they'll prove me wrong but based on what we saw in this ep I'm not counting on it.
Nope,no trouble! So whats with the Frank? I will see you tomorrow,my cats keep walking onto the keyboard trying to get my attention.Have a good evening. :)
It just irritates me. They've been in love since season 3 but it takes an unplanned pregnancy as a result of spontaneous sex to force them get together?
And what is Booth's deal? Does the guy not know how condoms work? Hell, I find it difficult to believe Brennan is the type of woman who stops using birth control because she isn't currently having sex. It's so out of character for her it blows my mind. I understand that Emily's pregnancy meant that they had to make some tough choices but there were a few ways they could have went and this was the worst.
It's no wonder the dialogue was clunky when both Booth and Brennan have been constantly acting out of character.
Even though I'm still miffed at the time jump and all the potential stuff that was missed, I like the way they're proceeding with the Booth / Bones relationship. This was a nice episode.
My only beef:
Too much Sweets. He needs to stop playing psychiatrist around Booth and his personal issues. Be a friend about it or keep your trap shut. Sweets is good in small doses which is why I would MUCH rather have the show bring in Genny Shaw to partner with Booth when Bones can't do it.
Loved it. They are finally together. with the i love you's and the kisses... Brilliant episode. However, I have a horrible feeling bones might lose the baby. I really hope not.
Although I expected better, it was good! I don't know why, I expected this episode to be one of the great ones, after the bombshell of last season but it was kinda average, I think. And the 'fights' between them were a little disappointing, too predictable: something they would've dealt with much earlier in their relationship if you ask me.
Anyway, the interactions between them were cute, of course, and the scene with Angela and baby Michael was wonderful :) Next episode is looking more promising!
Is she the blonde FBI agent who stepped in when Booth was home with a bad back stoned on pain killers? For the like of me i cannot remember her name.
I feel the same way about Sweets, hes too much with the personal stuff, and he/they can't decide if hes a shrink,or an agent? I really like him,but a gun does not make the agent.Bring back the blonde agent, whatever her name happens to be!
Baby Michael is so darn cute, between his smile, and those cheeks,he stole the show.
Now for the show,I will say i was a little disappointed but more with myself, then Bones.I was so excited, could not wait for it to start, that when it finally came on,it let me down..i was expecting something to,umm,i don't know what ,i'm still trying to figure this out.I did get a kick out of it,and i'm really happy its back on.I am going to check it out again over the weekend.
The ''I love you'' lines had my eyes filled with happy tears.
But I still feel really cheated. No flashback or anything to catch up the five months to help bring the show where it is now. I was soo hoping to see the others reaction to the pregnancy, the beginning of the living together, them adjusting to this new reality.... but nothing!! I am pissed they took the easy road!!
I don't know if i agree,or not,but with everything going on with them-she's pregnant, that alone take alot of adjusting to...Now they are living together,no,going back and forth between apts...I do know that when two people are living together,or first start seeing each other, one is usually at your best. Everything is new,and at times a little awkward. So to me,although Booth and Brennan have been working partners, and friends thats the only bond they had.I don't know if i am explaining myself the way i want.I had a bad morning, and my head is in a fog...i will come back latter
Worth the wait! Booth and Brennan together is totally believable and doesn't seem forced. I think the show has avoided the will they or won't they curse.
I agree,i thought i would be blown away by it but wasn't.,my own expectations got in the way of being able to fully enjoy this episode. But yup,it was still good, lets look forward to next week w/o any preconceived notions! :)
Really loved this episode. The case was a little weak, but B&B were very natural with each other, and the dialogues seemed very much the way they are with each other. LOVED baby Michael, and the scene with Cam was priceless. "Tell him not to look at me like that!" Angela's conversation with Brennan were great! Loved seeing them tell each other that they love one another! Bedroom scene at the end was very sweet...
So it looks like a lot happened in the months between but then again not so much. The series timeline has me all messed up. From finding out she's pregnant to the (you know it) long drawn out discussions about what was going to happen and when (in terms of the relationship).
If it were me, I'd still be standing there scratching my head.
I really really enjoyed it, a great return to form for a show that I was considering dropping at the beginning of S6. I particularly liked that even though Booth and Bones are a couple now, it hasn't compromised their relationship much: they're still them, they're just together now, and it's everything I've been hoping for since S1! I'm now very excited for the rest of the season, I'm only disappointed that it's going to be shortened!
I actually think the episode was written quite well. Anyone who's had a child knows that life is full of "HUH & WHAT" moments! Not to mention those hormone imbalances. Brennen was playing (albeit Truely being pregnant) being preggers right.... highs n lows n complete irrationality- yet being Brennen, was constantly rationalizing everything, including her emotions.
You have to remember, Booth has been in love with Bones for a very long time. Bones on the other hand is so technical AND emotionally stunted that " pregnancy, love and moving in together" is a HUGE problem for her. Okay, yes, she has been in love with Booth- but It will take her some time, PLUS for her to be okay with things, she has to annalize and rationalize Everything. Booth on the other hand is every emotional and family based, that this is all coming very easy for him ("We are a Family Now").
With all the complete differences in each personality, there are so many ways to have the story lines go. This also includes having two sets of parents (Hodgins & Booth/Bones) raising children at the same time.
As for Baby Micheal, he is absolutely a scene stealer! Sweet sugar in a little bundle of cuteness!
All of you have already mirrored my feelings, I dunno what to say. Any how, I Really thought they would give a little flashback to the last 5 months. I mean we all know they were in love since long time back but to become that vocal with such strong feelings takes getting used to. I loved it when they said I love you to each other but most of all, the little baby. Hodgins and Angela Never fail to disappoint. :D
Well you don't have to do that. Just rewatch "The Hole In The Heart" from last season (episode 6 x 22). That's the only episode she's been in so far. :)
I agree... He was the cutest part of the episode. And the best actor too. Why did I feel that they've lost that chemistry they used to have? The scene at the kitchen was so... I don't now how to define it, perhaps awkward?. They didn't seem to be two happy people living together for some months. I didn't understand if acting that way was on purpose or it was simply bad. And the scene with Brennan crying, I think it's the worse Emily acting in the whole series.
Thanks so much,of course i remember now.I really don't know how i forgot'The Hole The Heart" that is one episode that shocked me when Vincent died,I cried my eyes out over that ep.Still haven't gotten over it.Anyway i would rather see her or agent Perotta, then have Sweets in the field. Thanks again! :)
ScottArecentlyFrank,LOVE IT! Just let me know which ha! When i came back on tonight,i had 22 messages waiting for me,all from you.Ha, of course it must have been a glitch in the system, but i thought it was cute.Fringe is on i will get back to you when its over. :)
I thought this was a great episode - not necessarily the case, that was kind of blah. but what I was glad to see is how Booth and Brennan being together didn't really affect the dynamic of the show. the writers understand that it's not just going to be happily ever after - there are a lot of issues that are still there, and they bicker just as much as usual. I love that the relationship has changed, but it's reassuring to see how much it's stayed the same - if that makes any sense :)
I have to say I really liked it. I think the new dynamic between Booth and Bones works. The skipped over so much at the ends of last season that I was worried.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I loved it! And I love them, but it's weird Booth/Brennan are canon now.
ReplyDeleteAnd Michael is adorable!
OUCH
ReplyDeleteI REALLY really liked it :D

ReplyDeleteare you Scott by any chance?
Yes. Am I in trouble?

ReplyDeleteIt's almost like the dialogue between the two was forced.
ReplyDeletei smiled all throughout this episode. and baby hodgins is so cute.

ReplyDeleteNo, Agent Shaw is the young agent who was working with Booth last year when he finally caught Broadsky.

No, you're right but then we have to accept that they have the worst luck ever. At least, Booth does.
