    I'm so glad in the otherwise mediocre Fall TV Season there is this one shining light of brilliance!

    A lot of shows I thought would be bad are actually decent, but not good..... a lot of show I thought would be good are okay, and a lot of shows I thought would be great are just good.

    This is the only series this year to surpass my already high expectations.

    I didn't really have any high expectations for new fall shows.

     - There were some programs I was hoping would be good (OUAT, Suburgatory, Hart of Dixie, Person of Interest) and those turned out to be a mixed bag.
     - There were shows I had low expectations for (Grimm, Revenge, Pan Am) which were pleasantly surprising.
     - There were also programs that turned out to be almost exactly what I thought they'd be (Terra Nova, The Secret Circle, American Horror Story), which are flawed but passable entertainment at best.

    Homeland is the one program I had absolutely no expectations of because I actually had no intention of watching it.  It's lucky for me I had some free time one afternoon to check it out because, so far, it's a damn good show.

    It really has been a mixed bag as you put it. Even the new series I like have apparent flaws....

    Of the 4 or 5 series I thought would be great, I think 2 or 3 are yet to air. .. Smash, Missing and Luck. I thought Homeland and Person of Interest would  be great too. PoI let me down somewhat although it is a fun show to me still. 

    Homeland is the only one that exceeded my hopes or expectations I guess. I hope Smash, Missing and Luck do as well!

    I think Smash could be good, although I have some misgivings about the potential longevity of the premise.  Luck is a show I've been looking forward to since they finished casting it but I was put off by the first promo.  Missing, well, I think that show will land creatively somewhere between Vanished and Persons Unknown and won't last any longer than either.
