    Out of all the network procedurals, Castle seems to have the most absurd situations for its lead characters.  (not that I'm complaining)

    Yes, it is very over the top, but it is fun.

    But really? Let's remember, shall we: possibly contamined by radiation, being stuck in a freezer, kidnapped and handcuffed, apartment blown up by suspect, tied up but not killed by 3XK, hostage in a bank robbery, etc.

    And the unusual cases: dirty bomb, cryogenically preserved heads, book-obsessed serial killer, 3XK, rituallistic illegal immigrant killers, 200 hundred year old bullets, superhero vigilante, ghost hunters, etc.
