Dexter, Homeland, and The Walking Dead!! Love the new seasons of Dexter and The Walking Dead! And even though I complained in the earlier Homeland posts about it being a little slow, I really do enjoy the show a lot! Sundays = SuspenseDays!
Finally, new episodes on FOX, it's been a while they didn't break the X Factor / baseball / reruns combo !
As always, it's the busiest night of the week for drama series (the busiest night for comedies being Thursday):
Storing for later : Downton Abbey, Misfits, Call Me Fitz, Hung, HTMIIA, Once Upon a Time, The Good Wife, Pan Am, The Walking Dead, Boardwalk Empire, Dexter and Homeland. Watching tomorrow : The Cleveland Show + Family Guy (turns out American Dad is still on hiatus until next week).
The Good Wife, The Walking Dead, Once Upon a Time. Pretty excited about all 3. And I'll sneak a peek at the Eagles from time to time if my DVR lets me.
The Good Wife (watched live AND DVR'd because it's so excellent it deserves a rewatch); Once upon a Time (surprised I liked the pilot, will see where episode 2 takes us); Simpsons, Homeland and PanAm DVR'd
Can't wait for CSI:Miami Halloween episode, I am loving this season, they have been giving back importance to Emily Procter's character Calleigh Duquesne and it makes all the show more interesting for me. I have been missing the MDPD second in command too much last season!
Once Upon a Time, Allen Gregory, Desperate Housewives and The Walking Dead. Out of the shows listed, I can’t wait for Once Upon a Time and Allen Gregory.Hopefully, today’s Walking Dead episode will be better than the last one…. so far this season has been kind of disappointing for me, but we’re only on the second one so I don’t know.
Same here for Dexter (blah, Season 4 how I miss your quality) and OUAT (not impressed at all with pilot. Mediocre/Sappy/Cliched/Awful writing/dialogue).
If it went more Fairy Tale like Princess Bride I could like OUaT... but as the pilot was I just did not find it charming enough or mysterious enough....
I think my major issue was the poor distinction between the feels of the two worlds. They were trying to make Fairytaleland magical and Boston dark, but the characters spoke in terrible cliches no matter where they were from. I would have expected MORE camp from the Fairy Tale side of things and LESS crappy dialogue from the Real World side. Unfortunately, both kind of flow into each other in a particularly bad fashion.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Family Guy, Boardwalk, How To Make It, Dexter, Homeland, Walking Dead

ReplyDeleteToo much goodness, my head will explode. I also wasn't impressed with Once Upon A Time, but I'll DVR episode 2 and see what happens.
ReplyDeleteNaw, don't compare that to Fables. Fables was excellent. OUAT is mediocre at best (so far).
ReplyDeleteSame here for Dexter (blah, Season 4 how I miss your quality) and OUAT (not impressed at all with pilot. Mediocre/Sappy/Cliched/Awful writing/dialogue).
ReplyDeleteIf it went more Fairy Tale like Princess Bride I could like OUaT... but as the pilot was I just did not find it charming enough or mysterious enough....
