I feel so ashamed I did not think of September not saving Walter and Peter as the trigger event that set off the hatred between the two universes..... Of course that was the change in this timeline. Nice to hear the back story from Walter's lips about Peter, crossing over etc....
Loved the Walter interactions with the boy and the shout out to past seasons.
Mmmmmmmm... strawberry milkshakes! Why do they always taste better when wearing tin foil hats?
I liked the analogous relationship between Aaron and his plant "Gus", and Walter and the the man in the TV (Peter), at least in the sense of a psychic bond.
No surprise emotions played a role in the connection. It seems that it always comes back to love or emotions in general.
This was the best episode since the premiere for me BY FAR. It touched on the myth arc and showed how things have changed since last year's finale in more detail. It also progressed the Walter/Peter connection nicely.
Also LOVED the bond growing between Olivia and OurLee! "You.... look.... a little freaked out! You wanna talk about it?" XD XD XD
I'll just ignore Walter's attempt at lobotomizing himself.... for now. I have had similar thoughts due to chronic migraines so I can sympathize! XD
Although calling Walter perfectly sane may be a wee bit of an overstatement... just sayin'.......
Oh My Friggin God, That was Fantastic. I was beginning to doubt the writers this season so far, but that episode just blew me away. John Noble not only deserves an Emmy for his performance, he deserves to have an Oscar created for him........... WOW!!!!!!
AMAZING. I really hope this doesn't turn out to be the final season due to cancellation. That might actually kill me! Promo for next week looks awesome too.
This ep desereves another category a step up from awesome. Just a fantastic ep and another "routine" masters level work of acting from the fantastic John Noble.
Amazing episode, best of the season and what a promising start it has for it. The ending was perfect and sent chills down my spine.
Got the bitter taste out of my mouth from Supernatural's episode tonight, love both shows but tonight for me I got more excited off of Fringe. Looking forward to the rest of of both show's seasons!
So glad they're getting into the finding or returning Peter storyline. I've been on my toes about it since the last finale!
Not to be a debbie downer, but I was left a little incredulous by Gus. The show has a history of using the case of the week to mirror the characters' emotional states, but this one was a little too on-the-nose. Still, a very good episode, and Noble's acting continues to blow me away.
Another comment: Loved how Walter and Olivia are having different ways of seeing Peter. Not only did it make for a good twist but it was classic Fringe-style reflecting mythology in characters: Walter sees Peter crazy person-style, Olivia sees them in sleep, as she used to sleep with Peter and has used dreamscapes to advance plot before.
First off, I loved the epi! I have so much info to process here! Next weeks epi is gonna be so awesome it'll blow the roof!? I gave this episode an awesome! Which is 10+ in my book!? Bring it on writers! BRING IT ON!? I'm hoping tonight's epi will boost ratings... *Crosses fingers and starts praying*
I was thinking that too. I'm wondering if they aren't so much 'dreams' about him as they are actually memories of her time with him in the other timeline.
On top of everything that happened, from the amazing Aaron/Walter scenes, to "Gus" (when he grabbed the technician, I freaked the heck out) to the horrifying ending of Walter lobotomizing himself, how many freakin' throwback scenes did we get in this episode? like a million O.o Every scene recreated a small something from Fringe's past!
Awesome just doen't seem enough ,right? I was blown away!First of all the story with the little bot was so well written. We got to see what Walter's life would have turned into haven't he saved Peter. I was beginning to worry about Olivia not having any memory or connection to Peter(Polivia shipper here!) but yes,Peter has found a way to get through to her!!!
Just for the last scene of Walter/Olivia John Noble needs to be given an award.I was freaking out and trying not to scream.Dear walter, you are not perfectly sane but you don't belong to St Claire's !!
It might actually turned out to be the best episode of the entire season (but I hope even better episodes will come!!!)
I believe they are memories too of the two being together as a couple. If they were random dreams Olivia wouldn't pay much attention.I believe it's because she's been seeing what is missing from her life triggered her to start looking for him!
All of the awards for John Noble, it was a great episode for Walter seeing him interact with a lost soul like himself in the form of Aaron was lovely and the ending thank god Olivia has been seeing Peter as well so Walter doesn't think he is crazy! I have to admit I didn't see that coming.
I personnly like this week episdoe but felt that last weeks epiode was slighly better. I felt that some write for the plot was but clumly. I do feel that whole mythology arch around the machine was been drop a little and would have been nice to see more Earth1/Earth2 interaction. I did spot that Olivia was looking for Peter at the start of episode so I loved last scene. Nice link back! Lincoln is fitting in well. RealI am starting to think that the obersers are pushing there own agenda as if they can stop September for saving Peter when he is a boy i why not go back and not distract Walternate?
Awesome episode. Best one this year for certain. Things are coming together and gave a lot to think about. I liked how Walter was trying to deal with increasing images and voices of Peter. It seemed more like a real life situation. Now Olivia admits she been having dreams about what seems like the same stranger. The case they were dealing with seemed to naturally blend right in and gave information of both Peters deaths. Can't wait for next weeks episode
This episode was AWESOME,when Walter and Olivia realized they were seeing/hearing the same person ,(Peter of course) it blew their mind. I really have come to like Lincoln, and the way he relates to Olivia. But oh, I can't wait for Peters return.
this was a great episode! finally!! i'm glad that they are actively looking for peter now and it was an interesting reveal that olivia is seeing peter too!!! can't wait for the next ep!
Have to say that that first conversation with Lincoln and Olivia was the most awkward thing ever! I really enjoyed this episode, had a lot of heart, the interaction with Walter and Astrid was perfectly hilarious and the ending was great!
I had too much to say, so I'll just post a link to the forum if anyone is interested: http://www.spoilertv.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=103&t=23187&p=630203#p630203
I was cautious with my votes for the first two episodes, but this one is fantastic! It was so great to see a Walter-centric episode. And even though the case of the week couldn't compare with mythology-heavy episodes like "Peter" it had much heart and strong themes. I'm interested to hear what Clint's (from the Fringe Podcast) opinion of the child actor is. lol
I loved this episode. Fringe is such a great show. :) By the way I realized something:
In 2026 The "First People" sent the parts of the machine back in time. But at this point, where the worm hole leadt to, our universes were one and not two. The Other Side also has the parts of the machine, as we do. But the First People couldn't bring parts to the Other Side because the Red one didn't exist anymore. I think this is not a new "theory" or "fact", but I just realized and wanted to share it. :)
Wonderful episode. Had John Noble starred in a non sci-fi show his acting in this one would've earned him an Emmy nod. Since this universe is unfair, it won't happen. Oh well.
I am starting to think the blue universe is specifically ethereal and by extension the red (the red represents the real identities the unseen corporeal characters are fighting)...a plane were the collective subcobscience can attempt to change the identities of it's 'sleeping' participents in order to change their memory of the past...extreme psycho theropy!
That was really interesting. The red contamination suites. isn't it less than useful to have open ankles? You're dealing with spores... something getting up you leg would worry me. a LOT
Loved it. Interesting to find out Olivia has being seeing Peter as well though I had my suspicions at the beginning of the ep when she was running that search and sketching. And John Noble was brilliant as usual and the ending was heartbreaking!! Poor Walter - reaching the point where he was operating on himself - I'm glad he was able to realise that Olivia was sharing his experiences and that he wasn't alone in seeing Peter.
Excellent episode! I enjoyed it from beginning to end! The first scene between Lincoln and Olivia was just hilarious!! I loved the sort of lip pursing that Seth did after saying "You're...here"... Just plain awesome. I loved the awkwardness of this moment :P
I also loved the phone/camera interaction between Astrid and Walter and the situations arising from it... Astrid needing to interact with other people while having Walter being himself and rambling about crazy things!
The scene between Lincoln and Olivia at the end was quite funny, and I was glad to recognize some of Alt-Lincoln humor in there. Don't get me wrong, I love Geekcoln and its awkwardness, but Alt-Lincoln grew on me last year so...
The final scene was just disturbing and so well played by John... I enjoy the Olivia/Walter new relationship this season, ad hope it will keep getting developed.
Good episode. While I appreciated the importance of this episode and the great performance by John Noble, from an enjoyment standpoint I still liked last week's episode better.

ReplyDeleteJust saying... at the end of this episode I was screaming!
ReplyDeleteFinally another AWESOME Fringe episode this year!

ReplyDeleteMissed the first half of #Fringe, but hey - PETER!!! All is good.
ReplyDeleteI wanna see her dreams, how much she knows about him, what they are about?

It was so nice to see a lot more of Walter. It was great to hear him tell Aaron about Peter, loved that.
ReplyDeleteI like Our-Lincoln. I like that he is not bad ass and that he is not just a new Peter. He has his own personallity.
The last scene with Walter and Olivia was the best scene this season.
Really good episode, and the next one looks awesome too. Yay!!

When she was searching for faces at the beginning I was like "Is she looking for Peter?"
ReplyDeleteI think the same thing about September... why simply not distract Walternate in the first place?!?
ReplyDeleteI loved this episode.
ReplyDeleteFringe is such a great show. :)
