Fresh off her too-brief yet nonetheless touching CSI: NY appearance as Mac’s doomed wife, Jaime Ray Newman is bound for another CBS drama — NCIS.
The alumna of such shows as Eureka and Eastwick has landed a two-episode November sweeps arc on TV’s most-watched drama series as Melanie Burke, a Navy Lieutenant Commander who is a chaplain at the Navy Yard, TVLine has learned.
The first of Newman’s consecutive episodes airs Tuesday, Nov. 8, when Burke meets the NCIS team and starts to work closely with them on the investigation a military plane crash.
If perchance things don’t get particularly hairy for Newman as a woman of the cloth, there’s this: On or around the time she begins her NCIS run, the actress will also guest-star on an episode of NBC’s soon-to-debut supernatural drama, Grimm. There, she will play Angelina, one of the episode’s titular “Three Bad Wolves.”
