* The Vampire Diaries being the cornerstone of the CW programming, it's safe to assume that the CW will kick off 2012 on a Thursday with its Kevin Williamson duo. I don't think they'll program Gossip Girl & Hart of Dixie on January 2, 2012, they'll wait another week, same for 90210 & Ringer.
EDIT : Thank you, BoxManLocke and Hofbauer.
It makes sense, they can allow that extra episode in December for their Friday night duo since both Supernatural and Nikita have 23 episodes this season (unlike The Vampire Diaries, The Secret Circle and Ringer which all have 22 episodes), the CW schedule will still be coherent with all its shows left with the same amount of episodes for 2012.

Ugh, damn you hellatus!
ReplyDeleteAnd Not Fade Away's name has been changed to something I can't remember.
Death's Door, I think
ReplyDeleteEpisode 710 of SPN will air on December 2. It's been confirmed by the producers, since it's the midseason cliffhanger.
ReplyDeleteWhen do they release the hiatus schedules for the other networks?
ReplyDeleteUm isn't Hart of Dixie also airing one or two episodes in December? Last I checked they were doing a Christmas episode I think...
ReplyDeleteIt worries me that Death's Door is the midseason cliffhanger. I can't take another character dying this season!
ReplyDeleteUghhhhh! Damn CW!
ReplyDeleteMAJOR CASTING RUMOUR/SPOILER
ReplyDeleteSteven Williams aka Rufus Turner was spotted on set this week during the filming of episode 10 I believe.
it's too soon! :(
ReplyDeleteFirst Bobby's dad, then his dead wife and now Rufus. Add to that the casting call for a reaper and the title of the episode, and I'm really getting scared for Bobby.
ReplyDeletesounds very much like the mid season finally is going to be Bobby centric
ReplyDeleteand you forgot about Gossip Girl and Hart of Dixie which go on Hiatus after December, 17, 2011 atleast thats what im hearing
ReplyDeleteBoo the holiday hellatus! At least Nikita and SPN will go into Dec.
ReplyDeletenoooo!! vdiaries cant not be on air for 2 months!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving all the Bobby focus this season, but it better not be because they're killing him off.
ReplyDeletelook at the bright side it returns in early January which is sooner then last year and there should be smaller breaks in 2012 cause they will have 13 remaining episodes instead of 11 like last season
ReplyDeleteis he going to heaven or what? ... bobby needs to die.. XD the brothers call him all the time for anwers it's deus ex machina all over again
ReplyDeleteHellatus Part I: The Black Winter.
ReplyDeleteI've got my gloves on, just waitin' for the temps to cool and the episodes to be over with until January. (if I start realizing it now instead of December 2, then it might not be such a huge shock)...
Wow.
ReplyDeleteThe fact you said that and then followed with a "XD"...
I just can't even...
thanks for that list. Very useful!
ReplyDeleteNo its bad enough I have to wait a week to see the next episode:(
ReplyDeleteTVD . 3x10 Witch House ? we have synopsis ? :)
ReplyDeleteaah, they're trying to kill me
ReplyDeletethose weeks without Vampire Diaries will go by sooo slowly
Omg so soon!! This is going to kill me! I go away at the end of January, I don't know how I'm going to watch the new episodes!!
ReplyDeleteToo soon but at least we won't have to wait till the middle or end of January to find out what'll happen next. :D so hopefully w/ the holidays it'll go by quickly.
ReplyDeleteThe break for Supernatural does not look that bad at all. I am going to be away the weekend of Thanksgiving and won't be able to watch it-too much activity with my brother coming home-and even in December it is shorter than last year. Great season so far and the second half will be even better!
ReplyDeleteis false, one of the writers of RINGER, Jay Faerber, confirms the ninth episode will not be the last of the 2011 season
ReplyDeleteThe hiatus is going to kill me ;/ sooo long without Vampire Diaries and Hart Of Dixie and even worse ...without Supernatural ;/
ReplyDeleteThis is both annoying and hilarious. The new head of The CW ordered extra episodes for many of their returning shows* to cut down on the duration of this hiatus and it has seemingly made no difference.
ReplyDelete*Except for The Vampire Diaries. The demanding production schedule wouldn't allow for more than the standard 22 episodes.
Its so bad (((
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if someone knows the dates for the hiatus on the other networks as well? ;)
ReplyDeleteSo soon :-(
ReplyDeleteOk, why do they insist on airing 9 episodes back to back and leave the viewers with 6/7 weeks of nothing? I would say, spread those first episodes over a longer period of time so that at least until December one can enjoy new episodes... each year this happens and each year it bums me out... especially since history tells us that we'll get like 3 new episodes in January and then they go on a hiatus again...!!!!
ReplyDeleteI know that the president of the CW talked about extending into the summer programming. I assumed the extra episodes were for this reason. I know that Supernatural is talking a 2 part finale again.
