Cougar Town - Season 3 - Major Scrubs reunion happening!

27 Oct 2011

The guys behind Scrubs‘ daydreaming leading man and its most lewd and crude character are finally making their way over to a little place called Cougar Town. Of course, there are only two people we could possibly be referring to: Zach Braff and Robert “The Todd” Maschio.

TVline has learned exclusively that both former Sacred Heart residents have landed guest spots on a Season 3 episode of the ABC comedy, which returns at midseason. Details about each role are being kept under wraps for now, but we can tell you that Braff will appear in the flesh this time around, and not as the voice on another one of Laurie’s silly appetizer apps like he did in Season 2.

But wait, it gets even better! The same C-Town installment will feature three additional Scrubs alums. Yes, three!

Sarah Chalke will already be in the midst of her major arc as Bobby’s gal pal when the guys drop by early next year, while Sam Lloyd and Ken Jenkins are set to reprise their roles from previous seasons as a ukulele-playing bum (named Ted!) and Jules’ dad, respectively.

  3. Great news.

It would be fun if Neil Flynn (Dr. Jan Itor) could make an appearance too! I mean he is on ABC....

  7. I have a doubt, are Cougar Town and Scrubs in the same continuity? Wit Cox playing a different character on Scrubs and Jenkings playing her father after being Kelso in Scrubs, I thought that there are different universes, but Ted is the same character in both places, and we know that Gooch left him for the Hooch, so at the end, I'm just confused.

  8. Characters on Cougar Town just look a loooooot like Scrubs characters. I'm sure there will be plenty of meta references in this episode.

  9. This news is soooo good. Now if they could get Donald Faison onboard for a stint and have a reprise of the "Guy Love" song (especially if it's by Andy and Bobby) that will make my year... lol

  10. I think the answer to that is a resounding no. I imagine (as huricane pointed out) that there will be plenty jokes made on this very subject. Yeah, Ted was there, but he was also in Hawaii. I think I heard that Ted's band is coming back, so that should be odd, but otherwise, it's just Bill Lawrence being very awesome :).

  11. Exactly! He's actually the most likely person to have been able to make an appearance no problem. I'm surprised he has yet to do so. Maybe as Mike Heck he is trying to distance himself from the idea of a role similar to the janitor? Still, I'd imagine that he's pretty passionate about improv and it'd be cool to get to do that again.
