Supernatural - Episode 7.02 - Hello, Cruel World - Official Synopsis

8 Sept 2011

SAM HAS FLASHBACKS FROM HELL --- Castiel (Misha Collins) continues to struggle with the burdens that come with his new-fangled power. The broken wall in Sam's (Jared Padalecki) head causes him to have hallucinations, and he has difficulty discerning what's real and what's not. Bobby (Jim Beaver) worries that Dean is beginning to stumble under the weight of fighting Castiel and keeping an eye on Sam. Guy Bee directed the episode written by Ben Edlund (#703).

  3. I'm loving the fact that we're going to see more of what Sam went through in Hell.

  4. I'm glad we'll see the after effects of Sam's broken wall, and Dean in 'protective brother/powercrazedangel  fighter' mode will be epic.

  5. I seriously need to catch up before season 6... it would be fun to be a part of the community on the ite from the get-go...

  6. Hell flashbacks are always fun :)

    ReplyDelete
  7. It IS fun - but it's also more than a little scary sometimes. ;)

  8. We'd love to have you.  Just know that it is going into season 7.  I'm looking forward to being part of Fringe season 4 this year now that I am caught up.

  9. I seriously debated reading this synopsis since everything apparently changes in this episode.  Glad they kept it fairly generic.  I am looking forward to being surprised.

  10. Looks like everyone is suffering and looks like time for Bobby to step up. This has been dubbed 'the episode to watch' by the writers seems like big things are going to go down.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Obviously Death's presence in ep1 hasn't resolved the problem with Castiel as he is still around.

Poor Sam and Dean are in the same position as always , weighed down with heavy burdens....!

Thank goodness they have Bobby who underneath his unfashionable garb  is a real warrior ... a worthy and stalwart side-kick for the boys.....

  12. gaahhh, it sounds like an AMAZING episode!!

  13. So little time,so many people to feel sorry for...

Two weeks!Only two freaking weeks left!

  14. Epic, Awesome, Fantastic, Super, Exciting.  I can't wait until the new season starts.  I am betting that this season is going to be one of the best. Oh I visited a few websites.  What I found out is Sam's hair has become a conversation piece.  I've decided when I go to Comic Con 2012, I am going to ask about the Sam's hair.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Nothing really new here. Maybe that's for the best, I'm thinking there's a big surprise coming!
Am looking forward to see what's going to happen with Cas after this...

    ReplyDelete
  16. I can't help to worry about Dean - it looks like everything will rest on his shoulders. Poor Sam is gonna be in horrible state, but I still think it's better then last season's soulless Sam. Oh, Bobby - please take care of our guys;) and yourself (!!).

    ReplyDelete
  17. I am so worried/excited, I can't stand it! Is this the episode gonna have Mark Pellegrino in it? Cause that would be super exciting, as well.

    ReplyDelete
  18. This is supposed to be a big episode with a lot going on in it.    I am excited about it.  I knew from Jared said that this scares him.  I was under the impression for the longest time that it was going to be a Sam-centric season. Then I heard that Dean has some thing that he's not telling that could be a problem.  Sounds to me like Dean may be having trouble coping with it all and, typical Dean, is trying to bear the burden alone.  Thank God for Bobby.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Oh gosh! Poor Sammy, and of corse Dean is wigging out! Was there any doubt that he would? Jared said that this is when it gets scary and Jensen has said the same. Before long it seems like Bobby is going to be the only sane one for a while...

    ReplyDelete
  20. sam is falling but who help dean is too much for him.

    ReplyDelete
  21. This must be a good episode. I can't wait for it. :D
I'm way more excited about this season than last season!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Suffice to say, I'm more than pumped.
15 more days till the premiere, and 22 more days until THIS episode.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yes, I only want enough to get me excited for the rest, I'd rather not have the big surprise dropped on me in a synopsis. :/

    ReplyDelete
  24. Oh man, I'm so worried but this is going to be SO good! Poor Sam! :'( Please let him be alright. And the fact that Guy directed this, we KNOW it's going to be fantastic! I'm excited about the scary! I'm just really worried about Sam. Though granted I am happy that we're going to find out more about what happened to him in Hell. Bring on Season 7 already! lol I wish they'd bump it up a Friday. :P

    ReplyDelete
  25. Let me get this straight.  In season 4 Dean had flashbacks from hell, and they were blink and miss, so much so that his own brother never even noticed.  Sam gets a flashback from hell and OMG stop everything! Poor Sam! What will Dean do?  Poor Dean, as he's helpless and wrings his hands over poors woobie Sammy and Cas, and strong Bobby, a guest star mind you, actually has to take care that Dean doesn't lose it.  This season is sounding worse and worse and the blatant disregard for Dean and Dean fans becomes more and more obvious.  Thanks, but once again, I may have to skip most of this season because it just sounds like another season where Dean  is once again left on the side margins while the show revolves around Sam and his faithful follower Bobby.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I have to ask... WHY do you only post whenever it says anything about Sam? Seriously. You are unpleasant to be around when you post that it makes ME unhappy, and I'm probably not the only one who feels that way. If you hate the show so much, stop watching and stop spreading your negativity all over the place. It's getting exhausting.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Why didn't they mentioned Jensen Ackles' name in this one? Aren't they obligated to do that? It seems like a big ooops to forget... He's the co-lead after all....

    ReplyDelete
  28. I don't know who to feel the most sorry for they all need a big hug.I think there may be a few tears form me during this ep.Just over 2 weeks until season 7 starts can't wait.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Let me ask this, why do you think that only the Sam fans have the right to complain?  Oh wait! It's because you guys get listened to while the Dean fans get ignored so that only your wishes are important.  I have stopped watching, and if you noticed, so have a lot of fans.  This season isn't going to bring back the ones lost, and may actually drive away the few last.  Are you sure you want to tell fans to stop watching?  What will you do when the Samnatural Show is cancelled?  I can see that you are happy with this season, why not? It's just another season of special Sam and Dean who?  But some of us are not happy and I think we have the right to express it. Your sensitivities will have to be put on hold.  I don't care about Sam and his issues.  6 years is 5 years too many of Sam and his issues.  Some of us care about Dean, and not Dean worrying about Sam, again, still, forever.   I'd like to see something about Dean, not a sentence tacked on in the end of the blurb to satisfy the Dean fans that Dean is even in the episode.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Whine a little louder, hermit. I don't think they heard you in the back. If you stopped watching, then why are you still posting here?

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm wondering the same thing. I mean they have Jared's, Misha's and hell even Jim's ( and he's not even a regular!) but no Jensen.
This whole situation is really starting to smell bad..

    ReplyDelete
  32. Aww, am I raining on your parade?  Sorry honey, but the truth is, neither are fans like you the majority of the viewers.  Actually, the majority of the viewers are Dean and Cas fans, and most of them are not happy.  But, I love to rant that the fact the show is losing viewers is because of fans like you, who feel it is good to have Sam as the center of the universe and Dean as...well, nobody really.  It was tried and season 6, and the season sucked so hard even some critics have decided to promote Grimm and Fringe rather than Supernatural.  That alone should make you worry.  Another season 6 and the show is done.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Jensen who?  Oh you mean the guy who plays the brother, what's his name?

    ReplyDelete
  34. LOL are you kidding me? Really? Where is your solid proof that the majority of the fans are Dean and Cas fans? The internet? Oh my honey, you are delusional. I never claimed that the majority of the fandom are Sam fans either, unlike you who is declaring that the majority of the fandom are Dean and Cas fans fans. Delude on, dear. Delude on.

    ReplyDelete
  35. It always surprised me that some fans feel the way you do.I honestly never felt that the show focuses more on Sam or more on Dean.I always found it balanced.

Also,it's too early to say anything about season 7.We don't know how things will turn out yet and I think it's a little early to judge..
    : )

    ReplyDelete
  36. Oh, I don't know, maybe the polls! Or maybe the threads that get a lot of hits? But whatever.  I really think this show has failed Jensen, Dean and Dean fans as well as Misha and Cas fans, and I know that fans like you are tickled pink that your favorite just happens to be Gamble's favorite and you have nothing to worry about, since Sam will always be the center of the show.   Good for you, just don't be so smug about it.  It's very unbecoming.  Now I will leave you to your gloating.

    ReplyDelete
  37. "your posts do nothing but drip with bitterness, and I'm probably not the only one who feels that way"
You are certainly not SWG. I totally agree with you. The 'no news is bad news', 'Sera hates Dean' brigade have been incredibly irritating this hiatus.

" If you hate the show so much, stop watching and stop spreading your negativity all over the place. It's getting exhausting."
Totally agree. I can't understand why people keep posting about something they are no longer interested in - bringing everyone who still enjoys the show down in the process. When I stop enjoying a show I move on. If you don't want to that is fine, but you have to accept that your views aren't going to be popular.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I liked your comment not because I agree with you (I, personally, do find the storylines unbalanced both in importance and their handling by the show) but because you answered in a polite manner without defensiveness which, sadly, has become a very rare occurrence when someone posts something that can be seen as negativeness, bitterness etc. It is true that it is too early to judge the season yet, but I also think that if someone says it's going to be an amazing season then someone else has the same right to say it's going to be a sucky season because at this point both opinions are speculations and not based on facts!

    :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. Oh, the internet. Because that's where ALL the fans hang out. 2000 fans in internet polls are the majority. I forgot. Also, where have I been gloating? Like I said you know NOTHING about me, stop presuming  you do. I'm hardly being smug, but I will tell you what's unbecoming. Your nasty, bitter, negative attitude. Because you see unlike you, I actually have respect for Dean and love Dean as a character, where as you bash Sam and whine loudly and consistently whenever you get the chance.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Miles vary but for me, balance has to do with both guys having equal storylines, not Sam having all of them and Dean reacting to Sam's plots.  That's not balance, that's putting the focus on one brother and the other only acting on whatever the other brother is doing. That, for me, is not equal or balanced.  Heck, they could get rid of Dean and have Bobby  do what Dean does.  That would be balanced because Bobby is a guest star, not a co-lead.  He should react to the lead's plot.  Dean should have his own story by now, and still doesn't, while Sam keeps getting Dean's old stories, like hand-me-downs.  The problem is, Dean isn't getting anything new, except for some small plot here and there that amount to nothing, like the Lisa and Ben story, which btw, also seems to have been handed to Sam now.  As for season 7, I learned right quick back in season 5 that when nothing is said about Dean, it usually means there is nothing for Dean.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Hypocrisy doesn't suit you either, since I've seen plenty of Sam fans bash not only Dean, but also Cas, which is why Cas' role has been reduced.  God forbid anyone come between Sam and his doormat Dean.   As for your respect for Dean, heh, taken like a grain of salt.

    ReplyDelete
  42. More wise words from another Sam fan.  I'm so impressed.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Oh, as for moving on, the Sam fans said the same thing in season 4 and yet, here you all still are.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Hermit, I am referring to MYSELF. Not Sam fans. I'm not a hypocrite and you can ask anybody who knows me, so please don't lump me with the Sam fans who hate Dean, because I am not one of them.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Well, first of all,I find it kind of pointless to be rude when obviously I'm talking to people who like the same show that I do.Having a polite conversation, even if I disagree with some things,is much more interesting and fun!

And of course people are entitled to their own opinion.I just said that it's a little rushed to dislike a season based on two press releases. And yes..It's also a little rushed to love it based on the same, but in that case I think it's also the excitement talking!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Then I apologize. I feel though, that I do have a right to express my frustrating just as much as you have the right to express your glee over the episode, without being mocked or told to shut up.   Truce?

    ReplyDelete
  47. I need to catch up with Fringe. xD I'm almost done with Season 1. Hopefully I can race through it but Season 3 isn't on DVD until next month in Australia so I might have to download it.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I apologize as well. Being a Sam/Jared girl, I'm a little on the defense as I've seen so much hate being spewed about Jared in general, it was like a knee-jerk reaction. I understand your frustrations with Dean as a character. I just don't agree with them. I have my own frustrations too, I just choose not to voice them a whole lot. So, again, apologies. Truce.

    ReplyDelete
  49. "Actually, the majority of the viewers are Dean and Cas fans"
Utter and complete nonsense Hermit. What are you basing this unsubstantiated assertion on may I ask? The vast majority of the wider SPN fandom (ie not just those who post on message boards) just enjoy the show and don't get involved in all this agonising over spoilers, freaking out over Cas, Dean vs Sam arguments etc. They just love Dean and Sam and their story.

The show is doing fine ratings wise. We only lost 16% of our s5 viewers in s6 despite the move to Fridays. And we were very steady over the season in stark contrast to most other CW shows. Ep1 of s6 was the CWs 5th highest rated. By the end of the season we were 2nd highest after TVD. Whereas Fringe lost 42% over the same season when they moved to Friday.
"even some critics have decided to promote Grimm and Fringe rather than Supernatural"
Makes no sense. The implication is that previously ALL critics would have recommended SPN. That has never been the case. Critics never all agree on any show.

    ReplyDelete
  50. as if hearing the synopsis for the premiere wasn't enough, now we have two episode synopses....I'm gonna be freaking out for the next 2 weeks to fly by and an emotional wreck once the season starts. I don't wanna wait two more weeks to see how it all pans out

    ReplyDelete
  51. Maybe you didn't see that as far as DVRs and Live7 ratings, SPN didn't do as well as Fringe and actually had a 16% higher rating than SPN.  As for the critics, I'm talking of the critics that used to promote SPN, but are no longer willing to after season 6.   The premiere of season 6 was fans eager to see what Gamble brought to the show.  After that, the ratings went down so much, and dipped below 2 mil for the first time ever.  I wouldn't count on the ratings improving in season 7.  So far, there is nothing in the spoilers that has really been all that exciting and not sounding like a rehash of all the previous episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  52. You know nothing about me Hermit. I am NOT a Sam fan. I love Dean and Sam equally. But for many extreme Dean fans not believing SPN should be a one man show equates to being an extreme Sam fan.
SPN is and always will be about Sam AND Dean and their relationship. It will never be the Dean show. It will certainly never be the Dean/Cas show. If that is what you want no wonder you are disappointed.

Sam is the most important person in Dean's life (and vice versa). Their relationship is always going to be a huge part of the show. That is not just my opinion it is that of the writers, cast and showrunners. Those who don't get that, or don't want to watch that are the ones who come across as bitter and negative but that is not a reflection of the quality of the show. It is simply that they want it to be something it is not nor will ever be.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I'm not saying that having Dean reacting to Sam plots(or the other way around)is balance.I find the show balanced when it comes to plots.

In season 1 we have Sam and Dean together, trying to find John.
In season 2 we have them again together hunting down the YED with a focus on Sam and his part in the demon's plan and Dean worrying about him.
In season 3 they're hunting down all the things that escaped the Devil's Gate and we have a focus on Dean's deal and Sam worrying about him.
In season 4 they're trying to stop the seals from breaking and that's the first time that we see two different sides of the same storyline.Dean with Cas and the angels and Sam with Ruby.
In season 5 we have them again together(except from a couple of episodes)trying to stop the Apocalypse and we see the part they both have to play in the final battle.
In season 6,I agree with you that we focused more on Sam and the fact that he was soulless.
But we don't know yet what's gonna happen in season 7.I think that the writers always tried not to favor one brother against the other, because they know that the majority of fans are watching the show for Sam and Dean both.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I`m soooo glad that there are "only" 15 days left until season 7 starts ;)

    ReplyDelete
  55. I don't understand this continual criticism of Sam.

If you watch the episodes carefully Dean is always at the fore-front of any scene and Sam is always at his back. This means that Dean is  always the first to speak  in any confrontation.

Yesterday I watched Week-End at Bobby's and even in an episode in which Sam and Dean were hardly present, Dean was the only one who spoke, Sam was just part of the scenery.
This happens in a lot of episodes so I don't really understand where some people are coming from...

It would be better to try and convert more people to watching Supernatural and help boost their ratings instead wasting time complaining about a situation  that is completely false.

Both brothers are essential to the story and that's all about it.
If one doesn't like this show then there are tons of other shows just waiting for extra "fans."

    ReplyDelete
  56. I really wouldn't recommend getting into a debate about Fringe vs SPNs ratings. Fringe started with over 9m viewers and now gets just over 3 after only 3 seasons. Hardly boasting material. The networks and advertisers don't care about DVR ratings. And maybe this is high for Fringe because many of their fans chose to watch SPN live.

As I said in my last post. SPNs s6 ratings were fine. I will use facts not assertions to support that view. Yes they varied from 2.9m (ep1) to around 2 mid season. But premieres are always atypically high. In s4 4m watched ep 1 and 2.89m watched the finale yet that is touted as a ratings triumph. We averaged 2.24m for s6 and 2.67m for s5. A fall of 16%. Given the move to Fridays this is a fantastic performance. When Smallville moved to Fridays it lost 36% (1.4m) of its viewers.
Sorry to contradict your unsupported assertions, but s7 is unlikely to be SPNs last. It is currently the networks 2nd highest rated show. Even if some of the new shows do well, the chances of SPN being in the worst 2 or 3 of the CWs shows next year are very remote indeed. And the new network head is very open to s8.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I agree with this wholeheartedly. Thank you, isleofskye. I really do enjoy reading your posts very much. :)

    ReplyDelete
  58.  That's so nice of you SammyWsGirl.
    I'm blushing...thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  59. These discussions go round and around and never go anywhere.  Sam fans are upset because although the first half of the season was largely "about" Sam, Sam was never really present.  Even in the second half, part of Sam was missing - the core of Sam that is his drive, compulsiveness, POV, or whatever you want to call it.  Dean fans are upset because although Dean was very present, the main Supernatural story arc was not "about" Dean.

The truth is, as I read articles on the influence of noir on season 6, I'm beginning to understand that the way these two characters were portrayed had nothing to do with wanting to showcase one over the other, but were attempts to make the SPN universe fit into a noir landscape.  They wanted Sam incomplete throughout the whole season because it fit the noir plan.  They probably brought back the soul mid-season because of fan backlash, but kept Sam incomplete by building a wall that repressed part of his personality.  The kept bringing Lisa and Ben back in hurtful ways and increased Dean's drinking to get Dean to a place where he starts to come undone (the fact that Dean was torturing again in Let It Bleed was a sign that I initially missed).  Again, this was about creating a noir feel.

I'm ready to chalk up the season 6 noir experiment to something that probably looked great on paper but fell apart mostly because 99% of the audience didn't get what they were doing.  Let's just move on.  New season.  New stories.  And new feel to the season.

    ReplyDelete
  60.  I agree about the noir element. I have now seen up to Family Matters and that's exactly the feeling you get. There are little clues and tit-bits thrown in now and then, to keep us wondering exactly what is going on.

All in all it's really quite interesting and I'm enjoying it very much, but the plot-line does just seem slightly  out of phase, fuzzy, like the writers didn't quite manage to get the focus spot-on.

As for show-casing one character over the other, I really can't see it.
Each has their role to play, as is dictated by the writers, and the actors have no say in the matter at all.
That's what annoys me about this whole Sam-Dean thing.
You would think that it was Jared's fault that Dean "doesn't have a story-line" and Jensen's fault that Sam "doesn't have a story-line,"  which is absolutely ridiculous.

The actors are paid to do a job and we shoud respect that and just be happy that we have two such handsome and capable actors as leads in the show........

I have a really good feeling about season 7 and I hope that the ratings for the show go higher.
I would hate for Supernatural to go off the air and leave us with less entertaining programmes.

    ReplyDelete
  61. dont care for sam and bobby much the only characters i give 2 craps about are cas and dean (and no before any says it IM NOT  a destiel shipper) i think their friendship is a unique and really pissed that they took deans only friend(the only one thats still alive) away from him isnt dean allowed to have friends and to consider that friend a brother???? my poor babies better be ok or heads will most definitely roll

    ReplyDelete
  62. YAAAAAAAAAAAAWN Hermit's here again, and is that the sound of whining when clearly this is also about Dean too. I'm sure he'd be massively appreciative of you slamming his show. Jeez stop the same old whine whine whine, it is so impressively irritating. He doesn't need you jumping on the show and on people he CLEARLY has a lot going on this season including a 'secret' and 'struggling to cope with it all' i see NOTHING to dislike there. And I am so pleased for Sam too, sounds like lots of interesting stories coming BOTH their ways. Like others said, you hate so much stop watching and raining on everyone elses parade, seriously.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Couldn't agree more, this sounds like a brilliant episode synopsis and lots of interesting info about BOTH boys. Can't wait and glad to see a lot of other people can't wait either.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Hahahaha. Yeah Dean's only friend. Like Dean's ever going to be a friend again to somebody who ripped his brother's hell wall down. He lives for Sam whether you like that or not so sucks to be you dude. I can not WAIT for this season. I am a Sam girl but this show wouldn't work without Dean and nobody would watch if it was just Dean either, so take your hate and go watch Devine you'll get all your Misha needs there and the fandom won't have to deal with your negativity. Sounds great. I'm thrilled Cas is going, happy days, now the show can go back to the greatness it once was without other characters bringing the show down, yay.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Look BRILLIANT a bit of everyone. Perfect. Can't wait to see the deal with Sam and to see Dean struggle with it all. Perfect episode for me.

    ReplyDelete
  66. i agree but hope this isn't castiels final episode

    ReplyDelete
  67. I agree. I've been a member of the online fandom since S2 and I've encountered very, very, very few "Sam Fans" who "hate" Dean and want him out of the way compared to the extreme "Dean fans" and Dean + Cas fan (not all Cas fans, most of them like/love Dean, Sam and Bobby) who "hate" Sam and worse carry their dislike over to the actor.

As for reducing Misha/Cas's role, the angel storyline has to an  end sometime (or at least be gradually minimized) and I doubt Sam/JP had anything to do with that. Castiel was originally planned to die in S6, but that plan was changed to allow "Godstiel" to be "born". I still expect MC to recur just not in as many episodes as S5 & S6.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I'm certain omitting Jensen's name was a major proofreading error and the writer of the synopsis will get major grief for not catching it before it was released.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I know... I think I'm not gonna be there for the first couple of episodes, but hopefully not too far off!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Wow. The hate is ON in the comment section lately.
What about Dean+Bobby? Their dynamic has been my favorite friendship through the entire series. I think that what they're doing with Cas is a bit of a gamble, but sheesh, cool it until you see the new season? :|

    ReplyDelete
  71. I'm putting the brakes on this completely ridiculous argument. We don't allow personal fighting on STV, it's not what the website is about. If people (This isn't just to you Hermit) can't place nice then they won't be allowed to play anywhere on this website.

I suggest deanrocks.com or something similar for this sort of discussion. I'm sorry you feel that the show has become the "Sam Show" but here at STV we promote debate and discussion. Not arguments.

I'll check back here later and hope to find Dean & Sam fans holding hands and skipping away from Hell, or we'll have to look at taking further action.

    Play nice!

    ReplyDelete
  72. I doubt it. You'll find that these synopsis' are always inconsistant, often missing names and other things.

    I wouldn't worry :P

    ReplyDelete
  73. In cast people haven't noticed the comment I've just written half way up this post. SPN fans, I implore you to stop moaning and arguing in such a personal way.

How about getting excited for the start of the season, stop moaning and let the show speak for itself in a couple of weeks.

If then you feel that you have a right to moan and argue in such a way then.... go to a different website to do so :)

    ReplyDelete
  74. I'm not worried at all as I know the synopses are quite frequently at least somewhat to highly inaccurate when one sees the episode. IIRC correctly JP's name (or MC's or JB's) were left out of several past synopses when their characters were named.

I was trying to think of a reasonable explanation to counter the claims I've seen floated that there is anti-Dean/Jensen Ackles conspiracy at work. ;).

  75. This kind of sucks for Dean.  It's not much different than last season.  Last year Dean was keeping one eye on soulless Sam while dealing with Eve, creepy Grandpa, & Crowley.  Now, this season, he's dealing with broken Sam and self-proclaimed god-Cas and then there will be the new bad guy later on.

    Dean needs a vacation.

  76. Agreed. Maybe that's what season 8 will be about.

  77. I agree completely with this, and with Chris. I think the writers needed to approach season 6 in a new way, and I think it was a great idea, but the implementation was off somewhat.

  78. I have a serious issue with your comment: you're addressing "SPN fans"...
SPN fans are more than pumped for season 7. It's the "my favorite actor needs ALL the screentime in the show" morons that are posting this crap. And it isn't going to change unless you can get rid of them via blocking them from the site. It's been that way for 6 years now, so outside of just cutting them off completely, good luck stopping it.

  79. Should be a good one with Edlund writing.

  80. I disagree. As annoying as I find a lot of these character bashing comments or complaints about the amount of attention one character gets, where do you draw the line?  Do you make rules that you can't bash Sam or Dean but Cas is fair game?  Or do you outlaw bashing all characters and ban anyone who goes off on someone like Jo or Missouri?  I think the rules have to be about picking fights and attacking other posters rather than criticizing the show.

  81. Poor Sam,Cass and Dean! damn it all I just want the boys to hug and make up! Then again what'd be the fun in that! ^_~

  82. I don't mean go around banning everyone, but the way that the back-and-forth has always been was intense, and it mounts with each passing season. If Adam thinks he can put a dent in it, that was just the most effective way I could think of immediately.

Besides, if we banned the people who went off on Missouri, we'd never see Dahne again. ;)

  83. The best thing about you commenting on Supernatural threads in the upcoming season, besides of course hearing your opinion, is that you will be able to stop these "conversations" when they start.  Everyone needs to learn to let things go because debating ad naseum with someone who is never going to agree with you and which gets more nasty at every comment is what I am sick of.  I don't care who starts it.

  84. Some people would like that very much.  :-P

I think it's time to pull comments every single time someone makes it personal about another person's opinion - no matter what side they are on.  No matter if they are relatively new or if they are here all the time.  Characters tend to be fair game; people never are.

People need to stop letting what happens on other sites start seething over here.  I swear half the viciousness gets started on another site or by people who are riled up about what people post on other sites.  I don't give a damn what people are saying on IMDb or TWoP or anywhere else.  If I did I would go on those sites.  I come here to avoid the nonsense that hijacked this thread.  Perhaps when someone says something that upsets us, we should take a note from the real-world and back away instead of reacting immediately.  Ignore them and they are more likely to go away.

  85.  Dear Adam,
I can't agree 100% with what you have written.

I understand perfectly where you are coming from and I am the first to get annoyed with those posters who throw in personal insults to the actors, characters or fellow posters , instead of concentrating on the show in general, and concede that they are not welcome here, and if excessive, should be banned.
That includes myself if I should ever overstep the boundries.

On the other hand however, as in any debate there are always going to be different opinions on the subject matter,  in this case "Supernatural,"  which range from serious observations about the  plot-lines to  more frivolous aspects such as "what Dean eats" or" whether it's time Bobby bought a new hat"etc., etc., etc.
Debate is the heart and soul of any discussion and is physiological.

    What is the alternative?
That each poster gives the exact same opinion, or when one posts all the others agree completely with what the other is saying?
That would certainly make for a happy and peaceful thread but if one cannot freely express their opinions, in a respectful fashion, of course, then what is the point of posting at all?

  86. I'm a little surprised that you felt you had to remove one of my comments as I didn't think there was anything so bad in it.

I abide, however, with the decision of the moderator, as is only fair.

  87. it does sound interesting and I hope that what it says does come to fruition in the episode in equal parts
