Greetings. I'm very sorry for not posting the last 2 polls before. I meant to do it earlier but I kept pushing it back. Well, it's late September but here they are, at last. It's tricky to single out one particular season with this show. However, I seem to remember season 2 being a whole lot of laughter at each episode, so I voted for that season.
ReplyDeleteI didn't like most of season 1, I'm glad I kept watching because as much as I'm not fond of multi-camera sitcoms (except the classics like Seinfeld or Friends), it works on TBBT. This sitcom has truly great dialogues, the characters on this show get to have such amazing lines sometimes. That's the one true quality of this show, aside from the acting skills of Jim Parsons who found the role of a lifetime and helped building a cult character, symbol of the show as much as Barney Stinson is the symbol of HIMYM.
I like that in season 4 they tried to change the dynamic by adding three women in supporting roles in a bunch of episodes : Amy Farrah Fowler, Bernadette (who also did a few episodes in season 3) and Priya. All of them are great, for different reasons, but all of them were great additions. I read that some people grew tired of the show over the years, I'm not. I've never been the biggest fan, I probably never will be but I'll always have a laugh watching it, I like spending 21 minutes watching these characters and that's all that matters, I'm not expecting more from TBBT than well-written dialogues and a great cast to deliver them, and so far I'm happy on both accounts.
Like you said I can't really decide but it would have to be either S1 or S2, since IMO the show started to drag a little in S3 and still is tbh :P
ReplyDeleteOddly, I think season 3 contains the best episode (the Adhesive Duck Deficiency), but across the board, Season 2 is the strongest. The relationship between Leonard and Stephanie was really great, and the dynamic between Penny and Sheldon was at it's highest peak. Once Leonard and Penny actually got together, the show really took a nose dive in my opinion. I think that the season 2 opener is the second best episode of the series, and I think you'll find that a good number of the show's iconic moments take place in season 2.

ReplyDeleteIt was difficult to just chose one season because there are many many episodes in each season that made me laugh. That being said-- I went with S1 because it was the genesis of the show
ReplyDeleteI guess Season 2, it has more episodes that I loved and less that I didn't. The problem with this show is that I tend to either love episodes or hate them, so it's hard to pick a best season because they all have their good and bad moments.
