While doing press for his upcoming film Melancholia, Kiefer Sutherland told Entertainment Tonight’s Matte Babel that he hopes to start filming the 24 movie in March 2012.

    I'm going to be the voice of reason here and say this is meaningless.  As of right now there has been no word on a director (even though Tony Scott is rumored), script or even official greenlight by FOX.  I'm glad Kiefer is optimistic, but until we see something official from the studio, his predictions don't mean anything.  Also, Kiefer predicted that this would get a summer 2012 release.  If they begin principal photography in March, it's going to be a really rushed shoot to get it ready by late summer at the soonest.

    The timeline does seem rather implausible. But I agree with you. I would really like to see it made.

    Well for a 2012 release its not plausible, but hopefully 2013 it'll come out.
