    I just want the old Captain Jack back.  Happy, bi-sexual, confident, and perfect.  I miss the chemistry too that the other characters had.  Just not feeling it w/the American version.

    That's kind of silly. ;) Besides being co-produced by Starz, it still has Davies as a writer and inspiration for the show. The change-up doesn't have anything to do with it being American, it has to do with Jack being killable now. He has to be sidelined.

    The other thing that is different is that most characters have been off on there own doing things. In the past on Torchwood they have investigated things as a group or split into small teams for the large majority of cases. That allowed them to play off one another. Now with everyone off doing their own investigation it has a completely different feel.

    Plus this 10 episode story arc thing is moving much slower than the previous 5 episode arc did. It seems like a third of the scenes are filler, a third could be combined with other scenes and a thrid is more like old Torchwood. So I do understand why it seems off, but it has nothing to do with being overseas.... just how Davies wrote it.

    I really like this season, save from a few things. One of them being that Mekhi Phifer is all over every other scene, and I'm just not a huge fan of his brash acting style. Glad to see this episode is more Gwen and Jack for sure.
