This is much easier a round than the last one for me. The only hard choice was between Yellow Fever and Clap Your Hands if You Believe and that's only because I don't particularly care for either of them. In the end I gutchecked for CYHiYP because of the X-Files homage and I never really liked the implication that Dean is a d*** that they threw into Yellow Fever. Did love the Eye of the Tiger scene after the episode ended though.

You are right, this was way easier. My picks were: Changing Channels, Folsom Prison Blues, My Bloody Valentine, Yellow Fever, In the Beginning, Just In Bello, In My Time of Dying, and The Song Remains The Same.

Next two rounds should be fairly easy. After that it will be winners of round round taking on each other. Things will get significantly harder from there for most people.

ReplyDeleteI voted for: Changing Channels, Folsom Prison Blues (this was harder because I liked Frontier Land for the most part), And Then There Were None, Clap Your Hands if You Believe (this was harder because Yellow Fever had some amusing parts, including Eye of the Tiger), In the Beginning, Jus in Bello, In My Time of Dying, and Family Matters. My Bloody Valentine was too gross for my taste, making it the easiest episode for me to vote against.
Changing Channels
ReplyDelete-I doubt that anyone couldn't like this episode.
It's too funny, but with an ulterior part of the myth-arc thrown in, and with the Trickster's coming out!
My favourite is Sam as Kitt.
Folsom Prison Blues
- Apart from the fact that I really enjoyed Dean's prison wiseness and the great amount of Sam pouting
on the fact that Dean accepted such a dangerous ( for Sam and Dean ) hunt, I havent seen Frontierland yet so it wouldn't be right to pick it.
My Bloody Valentine
- I know it was rather gory but I liked this episode; Cupid, the various cravings, Sam handcuffed in the bathroom and the rather revolting Famine.
I didn't like Yellow Fever but I will give it my vote just for Eye of the Tiger, which was mythical!
In the Beginning
- No doubts here. Time travel episodes are amongst my favourites and this one doubled up with the Winchester back story.
Jus in Bello
-ranks as one of my favourites too.
The scenes in the cell were great and the bitter- sweet ending was unexpected.
Too bad Hendrikson didn't survive, I think he would have been a good guest star for future episodes.
My time of Dying
- I liked The Usual Suspects too and if it hadn't been up against MTOD I would certainly have voted it.
MTOD is another of those perfect episodes where everything is in he right place.
Sam was so spot on here, so desperate to save his brother, as was Dean with Tessa, almost accepting to go with her.
Just to say that John redeemed himself by dying for Dean but he just couldn't go without leaving poor Dean with a terrible legacy!
Have to go with The Song Remains theSame as I haven't seen the other.
Not as good as In The Beginning, but it has the Winchester back story so that's good enough for me.
Then Sammy gets to meet his Mum and pre-hunter Dad and I liked seeing ( or hearing! ) Michael too.
We voted the same. I think we have similar tastes in what we look for in an episode of Supernatural. Or these were just really, really easy choices. :-)
ReplyDeleteChanging Channels is one of my favorite episodes too. If you just took the first half or just the second, it would be great, but to combine the two together in a way that made sense. That was epic. I never saw the Gabriel twist coming. For that alone, it would get my vote.
ReplyDeleteI would have voted for The Usual Supects over 1/4 of the episodes in this list but not IMToD either. This was a great episode just for the sheer fact that it ended the longest hellatus and Sam telling Bobby they were going to salvage the Impala. That warmed my heart while John was freezing it.

ReplyDeleteChanging Channels - one of the few season 5 episodes I truly loved. I just love how Supernatural is able to make fun of itself. Loved Sam in the Knight Rider parody. Loved the "Mr Trickster does not like pretty boy angels" xD And I loved Gabriel in this episode, he had some great lines, even though I'm not a particular fan of making an archangel out of a Trickster.
Folsom Prison Blues - simply because I'm not a fan of the Wild West and Frontierland was rather boring for me. Honestly, I hardly even remember FPB, I just didn't wanna vote for Frontierland.
My Bloody Valentine - none of the episodes is among my favourites, but I think I still prefer this one for the gore, the Cupid and the burger-happy Cas.
Clap Your Hands if You Believe - as confused as I was right after watching it, at this point I think it was a damn cool episode. I love Yellow Fever's Dean, but the way they dealt with that ghost is still too disturbing for me. Instead, I went for the hilariousness of soulless Sam, Dean's close encounter and the "little lady with nipples", who hit Dean xD
Bloody Mary - I rewatched it for the 5th episode poll and now I'm impressed by it all over again. Definitely one of my favourite horror episodes, scared the hell out of me, even though I already knew the ending. Plus, I'm not a fan of the young Mary. I don't even know why, I'm just not.
Jus in Bello - obviously. As said many times, one of SPN's best episodes ever. Tension, action and demon fights all episode long. Plus, "but you didn't shoot the deputy" ;)
In My Time of Dying - my favourite premiere and one of my favourite episodes ever. The brother relationship at its best, dying Dean, Tessa, Colt, Azazel and John's death all packed in one, perfect season premiere.
Family Matters - cause it was an important episode for the season 6 storyline and I really liked the Alpha vampire. And it had Crowley. And again, I'm not a fan of the boys meeting their young parents.
My absolutely easy-peasy votes were for Changing Channels, Bloody Mary, Jus in Bello and In My Time of Dying. If I had problems choosing with the rest, it was because I wasn't a die-hard fan of any of the remaining episodes.
This round was SO much easier, except for putting Yellow Fever and Clap Your Hands If You Believe against eachother...those are some of my fave episodes and Yellow Fever is, in my opinion, the best episode
