I love how Bill was like "Ok we were fighting and I know that was Eric, but what the F*** is up with this 'My liege' business?" Just another excuse for Bill to get rid of his rival for Sookie's affection.. True death? Seriously?!?!?! Bad King Bill! Bad! Do they really think anyone will feel bad for Bill? OH no! He made a mess of his life and was rewarded with a kingdom... Woe is he!
Was anyone else cheering the fire to take Arlene? Maybe just me..... Arlene is going to say "Baby Jesus, you're ok" after her possessed son set fire to the house... Seriously? How screwed up is that woman? Wow.
Hulk mad! Hulk move chair! Hulk want date! Wow Andy on V is just annoying.....
So Tommy pulled the Sam-shift. This could lead to a whole new type of trouble for everyone in Bon Temps! Victim number 1 = Sookie... for now. Victim number 2=Luna (or Sam depending on how you look at it). Someone needs to kill Tommy "toot sweet".
I like the new Packmaster making a second attempt to get Alcide to join the pack. At first I thought he was just going to be a static nuisance, but now I see him as a possible ally or at least a more dynamic enemy later on!
Ya I can see why the Vampire Authority is not a fan of necromancy witches. Nasty stuff! Combine her with Marnie, who is a special kind of crazy all on her own and I see big trouble for Bon Temps and all the LA vampires.
Jason has been hilarious this season! "Going to change my kitty litter?" and "Kinda like I'm real good at sex?" and "I'm a police officer .. and a were-panther!" .... hahahaha! I can't believe Sookie fell for the 'go get me a fresh beer' charade..... Ditzy is as ditzy does!
I'm beginning to think that the Jason/Jessica dream may be foreshadowing as much as funny....I'm thinking there will be some Jayssica shippers soon if not already. I love seeing the maternal side of Jessica and the depth of her character. Now that she's experienced some life they are really exploring the role! Good stuff!
Tara... Ugh! Enough said.
Overall a pretty good episode for me. Not much of the batshit crazy side of the Three Stooges or Arlene and devil-baby. Not enough Sookie in the episode for me, but they advanced the witch story quite a bit. A little disappointing that they had chances to kill Tara and didn't.... sigh.
Great episode! The writers have managed to make Bill's character interesting again with this whole arc. He may not be all that likable, but he's a very interesting character in terms of his actions and emotions. He's not a one trick 'Sookie is mine' pony anymore. They're letting his character build and expand into other things finally.
Well he still could change in the next full moon possibly, but I really don't have an issue with them losing that part of the books. It was never a very big part of the books and it saves special FX costs if they don't have to have Jason shift. That money can be spent on far more important future shifters like Quinn....
what little eric /sookie scenes i did see, i was happy. didn't have that much, but i squealed at the end. i have never read the books, but i heard that he doesn't remember anything when he gets his memories back. that will be so sad. i love jason, but i have to say he is one of the dumbest people on the show. andy gets on my nerves. tommy sucks too and he is ruining sam's relationship with luna. i can't wait till the big fight with the witches and the vamps. tara is getting on my nerves too. she needs to go back to new orleans and never be heard from again. i love lafayette and jesud no matter what. who is the mysterious black woman that baby mikey saw? next week is so long of a wait.
Hahaha the scene with Eric telling Bill, "She deserves to be happy" had me laughing! I don't know if he 100% meant it or he was pretty much making sure Bill wouldn't kill him, it was amazing!
We finally got to see the ghost behind that freakish doll. She looks so friendly. :-)
Just when thought Tommy had made a turn... granted he accidentally turned into Sam (can someone remind me of the shifting into people wording? I'm blanking right now.) but then he proceeded to royally screw up Sam's life.
Loved the scene with Jason and Jessica..and her exit from he bar was funny.
Sadly they gave Tara's girlfriend more than one line of dialog and I'm okay with her getting killed off. At least I'm guessing that her arrival in Bon Temps and being hooked up to Tara doesn't bode well for her longevity.
I knew Lafayette was pretty powerful but somehow I was hoping it would be something he controlled rather than just accessed.
I'm still not sold on the Alcide story. It's just too disconnected for me. I don't care.
If we sum up all the useless scenes with characters that really got boring, we will find out that Sookie's plotline takes less and less screen time every season...
"I barely know any regular humans anymore." I love Sookie.
The Jessica/Jason scenes in the woods were cute, and I loved the Sookie/Eric scenes. I liked that they finally made Bill something other than annoying and power hungry. The freaky doll storyline is annoying me so far, but at least they moved it on a little. Also don't care much for Tara anymore.
I think Tara needs to become Sookies Friend again or go away for good. She really is not serving a purpose anymore with the story lines she has going after last years pitypotty. Shame too cuz I really like the actress.. I LOVED Sam as Tommy playing Sam, I laughed out loud it was so dead on! And Of course Eric and Sook finally after waiting for 3 long years.. And Yep I like Bill as King
It makes ya wonder if that is the master manipulator Eric in there after all doesn't it. Wouldn't that be a hoot if he really is the original Eric making Sookie his after all!
This episode was okay. I feel they tried to cram too many different storylines into this episode though. Speaking of which:
- Jesus & Lafayette in Mexico is boring me to death - Tommy once again proved he's a horrible brother and an annoying character. He's got to go. - Sam Trammell's impression of Tommy was pretty damn good - I've had about enough of Andy Bellefleur for one season - I've realized Bill Compton is more interesting when he's sinister - The Jason / Jessica scene was good but I can still do without a romantic plot between those two - Tara is still annoying but not as much this season. It's probably the girl-on-girl stuff. - Sookie wandering the woods with a shotgun was quite amusing
Ongoing plot hole annoyance:
The Authority has a "no killing humans" mandate but the witches are threatening their society. What ever shall they do?
Why don't they do what other shady, powerful organization does? Hire contract killers. When police see bullet wounds they don't look for vampires.
I wish I had the power to kill off people on True Blood, i'd be so happy. First off, kill Arlene. Useless character at the moment, and with the whole baby thing it's laughable. And slighty insane. Okay, a lot insane. Second kill off Tara, okay, she's a lovely person but she just gets on my nerves! It's always I've had such a bad time with vampires boo hoo, I thought Franklin was a nice vampire. I liked him, he offered her the world. Kind of. Third, kill off Andy. Is it me or is his character just mildly a giant pain in the butt. It just feels like the V story is going no where.
I love Bill as King, which is strange as I've never liked his character. But he's getting stronger as time goes on but is power that good when he can't share it with the woman he loves? And he's just going to stand around while she falls in love with other men and hes stuck sorting out vampire mess, doesn't sound like a good Vamp life to me, because I always thought he wasn't the biggest fan of being a Vamp and was always trying to connect with his human side and now he's got his foot into major Vamp politics? Just doesn't seem like our Bill. Oh, and not enough Sookie!! Everytime she'd pop up on the screen she'd be gone three minutes later! I got so annoying at the end I just kept switching off my head whenever someone boring come on the screen!! Overall, loved the episode. Especially the end. Giggity.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Holy vamp battle!

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely true!
ReplyDeleteI am loving King Bill this season. By far my favorite season for him as a character! I guess I love to hate him. XD
Alan ball jipped us, jason was suppose to be a were panther and he ruined it, not true to the books at all.
ReplyDeleteI have to make a girly comment (*blushes*)
ReplyDeleteEric's speech to Bill was so lovely.... I melted....
I was surprise with that too

ReplyDeletewhow this episode was very powerful and the end grrrrrrrrr ,yesssss eric and sookie perfect, sweet love scene.
ReplyDeleteAfter 3 seasons and a half tv Sookie did at last what book Sookie did already in the second of the book series!
ReplyDeleteIf we sum up all the useless scenes with characters that really got boring, we will find out that Sookie's plotline takes less and less screen time every season...
ReplyDelete"I barely know any regular humans anymore." I love Sookie.

I loved the Jason/Jessica scenes. Jason is so funny! And Jessica seems so.....real.
ReplyDeleteLiked the Sookie/Eric scenes too and Alcides story, that seems to get a little bigger. And Pam was good - as always.
Did NOT like Tara, oh my god, please let Pam kill her. And the whole Arlene story just seems silly. I still like Terry though - can´t help it.
I didn´t like Bill as the king at first, but he is really growing on me.
I think Tara needs to become Sookies Friend again or go away for good. She really is not serving a purpose anymore with the story lines she has going after last years pitypotty. First off, my heart went out to Eric's speech.
