Not happy with Fiona's attitude towards Michael. She really isn't being fair. It was her idea to bring Armand and he turned out to be a sleaze bag. I'm hoping their relationship can survive.
I thought that i would have an issue with this episode, but Gavin Rossdale's character didn't annoy me as much as i thought he would. Anyone else think that final scene with Michael and Fiona was like the final scenes of the episodes Fearless Leader and Signal and Codes (there third season episodes)?
Yes. Way, way too much like it. I didn't care for Gavin Rossdale more than the character. There was far too much Caribbean and far too little Fiona for this to be Fiona centered. I would probably have liked it better if I didn't have such high expectations going in.
Actually really enjoyed this episode. Loved the whole Caribbean part of the episode and hoped for more episodes like that this season. Dahne, I know you were hoping for more a Fi-centric episode but hopefully we'll see more of her in the upcoming episodes to get a better understanding of her attitude, or show her getting past whatever is bugging her.
I feel misled. That's the biggest problem with this episode. If I knew it would be another run of the mill split between CIA case and Miami case, I would have been prepared for it. Instead, I expected Fiona because that's what the promos highlighted. I got very little of Fiona other than what I already saw in the previews and a Fiona pout that frankly I thought they were past by now. One of the things I like best thing year is how Fiona and Michael seemed to have grown up and learned how to communicate. They were more in tune with each other's needs too. Now we get a whiny Fiona throwing a passive-aggressive temper tantrum and a Michael who is once again too wrapped up in himself to notice the people around him. This entire episode was one giant leap backwards. If the season keeps up like this, Burn Notice will become my third favorite show while White Collar will become my second after Supernatural. White Collar is hitting on all cylinders right now. I think the CIA line is weighing Michael down and things are starting to get a been there- done that feel.
That's a good point, they should not have advertised the episode as a Fi-centric episode with a lot of focus on her and Gavin's character. I too am kind of annoyed by the route they've taken with giving some drama to Michael/Fi again, hopefully it'll just be a minor speed bump and they'll get back on track.
I agree too. More Fiona would have been better. I don't like Michael working for the CIA. Ever since he has, he's been framed for Max's murder, he's trying to save himself by working for them and they aren't helping him when he needs it most (two episodes back when Sam was in trouble with Carmelo). Plus, now his relationship with Fiona is in big trouble. Why would Fiona be jealous of Pearce, She isn't pretty. Not sure Agent Pearce is trustworthy. I am tired of the drama between Michael and Fiona too, for once let them be HAPPY. I have a feeling she's going to move out. I hope I am wrong. Why after four plus years bring up Fiona's past. I recall in episode one, Fiona was in New York and came down to Miami when the hotel matron called her to tell her Michael was out for three days from his beating in NIgeria. Unless she said that as a way to protect Armand or cover how she really came to the US. This show to me is the best show on TV so I won't knock it down. I'm hooked on it. All I want is Michael and Fiona to be happy. Michael needs to quit the CIA and work taking care of his clients.
Ya I'm kind of figuring the CIA thing to come to a head by the end of the season where Michael will clear his name but in a manner that the CIA doesn't do anything but give him an honorable discharge, or something along those lines. Still holding out that Pearce isn't part of the bad side in whatever side that is and I'm glad she's been proactive to help out Michael at least somewhat. As for whether or not she is pretty, for me personally, I find her more attractive that Fi but again that's just my opinion.
I too just want Michael/Fi to be happy and hope that this season leads into next in finally taking down the people who burned Michael (who I assume there are still remnants alive and that's who is trying to frame him now).
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteYeah i was pretty up set with the last scene Michael try's to communicate for "once" and what does he get a big smack in the face!
