You're right.... Part of it is that the dark Fae embrace their powers and enjoy using them (often to kill, hurt or just do evil) while the light Fae go all "With great power, comes great responsibility" on us. Only using their powers when forced to....

Well, to be fair, the show has introduced a lot more dark Fae characters than light Fae.
