With Desperate Housewives having shot just three episodes of its newly announced eighth and final season, star Felicity Huffman took a moment during the Television Critics Association (TCA) Press Tour to talk about what she currently knows the future holds for her character, Lynette.

Huffman tells The Hollywood Reporter she’d like to see the breakup happen, because it offers more dramatic possibilities for her character. “I think it’s much more interesting,” she says of a possible divorce storyline for her character and Tom (Doug Savant). “It’s much more fertile.”

  4. As much as I love Tom and Lynette, I think she's right. There's so much more potential in a breakup storyline. We don't always need happy endings. We need stories well told.

  7. I don't think it is a better story. After all they've come through, divorce would feel cheap. I think without the one stable couple on their show, the show looses quite a lot. They better reunite them before the end because otherwise, it just feels inadequate.
