After a longer break we're continuing with the guest stars in comedy series. Again, this was very tough to put together.

You can choose up to six people in each category. Also, who do you think should be nominated and who do you think will be nominated?

Sound off below in the comments after you've voted.

For comparison here are last year's nominees:

Betty White (Saturday Night Live) - Winner
Elaine Stritch (30 Rock)
Kristin Chenoweth (Glee)
Tina Fey (Saturday Night Live)
Jane Lynch (Two and a Half Men)
Kathryn Joosten (Desperate Housewives)
Christine Baranski (The Big Bang Theory)

  1. Cloris Leachman is awesome as Maw Maw in Raising Hope.

  2. Am I wrong in thinking this list is a bit lacking?  Cloris Leachman is really a supporting player, not a guest actress.  Jennifer Aniston's and Celia Watson's appearances weren't very good, and Kathy Bates did better last season on The Office than this season.  Ah, well.

  3. I'll scream if Community gets nothing but a Betty White nomination at the Emmys.

  4. Absolutely. It was very hyped, but she wasn't that funny, the whole Jeff/Britta thing with jealous Annie was what made the episode great.

  5. Hard, because at least on the shows I watched nobody of the listed really stood out and i can't really think of anyone else right now.
White & Aniston weren't really great, Louis-Dreyfus only had a few lines that were funny, but I think that hardly justifies a nomination. And I had to look up Mo Collins to find who she was on Parks & Recs. But talking about P-Rex reminded me of Parker Posey who was great as Leslie's former best friend/enemy Lindsay Carlisle Shay.Amy Landecker was kind of good on Louie, but for what role would she be nominated? As Louie's mom or as Louie's date Sandra?

  6. In that list : Betty White, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Cloris Leachman.

    - Cloris Leachman is in fact a guest actress on Raising Hope,
themurph2000. It surprised me as well when I realized that, given that
she played in all 22 episodes, but it is true. Fortunately, next season
she'll be upgraded to supporting actress though (I don't think it'll
make a difference on her time screen because clearly one can't see the
difference bertween supporting and guest in cases like this), and
rightfully so, Maw Maw was awesome.

    - Julia Louis-Dreyfus : she was just great as Liz Lemon n°2. I wish 30 Rock writers had made her return as Liz Lemon this fall for 6-7 episodes, because Tina Fey is pregnant, that's why 30 Rock is delayed. It would be fun to have Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Liz again, and then when Tina Fey comes back they'd have 2-3 episodes in which they both play Liz Lemon and fight each other to see which one gets to stay and be the one true Liz (and everyone in the Rockfeller would prefer Julia. Everyone could have already forgotten Liz as Tina Fey, Liz as Tina would try to expose her doppleganger, everybody would prefer Liz as Julia (because Liz as Tina Fey isn't exactly popular amongst her co-workers), etc... great comical potential here, imo, and it would be a delight to have Julia Louis-Dreyfus again on 30 Rock. Eventually Tina Fey would win and stay obviously. I know, it's meta, very weird and kind of breaking the 4th wallish but I would have LOVED it. It's kind of like what they did with Jack Black in the study group on Community except it's pushing things way further and it's on 6-7 episodes. But it won't happen and now, 30 Rock has to wait until January 2012 to come back on the air, it'll be a shortened 6th season and we have the absolutely awful/cancelled after 2 episodes Whitney instead. Anyway, having 2 Liz Lemon on the Live Show was a brilliant idea and Julia was great.

    - Betty White was great on Community. I remember that scene where she attacks Jeff after saying "you use respect to defend yourself" (because Jeff gave another speech right before), hilarious. I found it on Youtube : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRUZK01LffE

Not in the list : Megan Mullally in Parks and Recreation (Tammy) could be nominated, I guess.

  7. In my opinion season 2 doesn't deserve any win at all tbh

  8. Personally I hated Tammy so I didn't include her, sorry :P

  12. This seems like a weak category this year.  Lots of name recognition but none of these people had any standout performances.  Good performances, yes, but nothing great.

  13. While, I don't watch those shows anymore except for The Office, I am going to have to agree with you.

  14. They list her as guest star. She's not in all the episodes.

  15. Oh gosh I so hated Tammy. I hope they are through with her.

  16. Cloris Leachman was absolutely amazing. I laughed myself silly watching her attempt to breastfeed a baby (while in her 80s), make time with another octagenarian (Jerry Van Dyke, also great) and fall asleep doing it, put her cat costume (for trick or treating) backwards, run outside topless, try to find the baby's battery so she can turn off the crying. Maybe you'd have to see it but she's very, very funny. I actually saw all the listed performers and Cloris tops them all.
