The Vampire Diaries - Season 3 Cast Update

Dodging the Super 8 creature — and while under the influence! — may soon seem like a walk in the park for David Gallagher, who has nabbed a Vampire Diaries role with some real… teeth… to it.

Best known by TV fans for his run as 7th Heaven‘s Simon, Gallagher will appear on the first two episodes of the CW hit’s new season, TVLine has learned. Playing werewolf Ray Sutton, he will have a grim run-in (a howlingly bad time?) with Klaus in Tennessee.

Though this does mark a homecoming on The CW for Gallagher, I am told that it was actually his scene-stealing work in the summer crowd-pleaser Super 8 that caught the eye of the Vampire bosses.

  3. elijah shines in his brief but important appearances on the show. they will bring him back, but they wont give him a lot of screen time because that will slowly make him a stale character.

  4. It will be an interesting run.  I'm looking forward to it.  He's not a bad actor.

  5. Looking forward to seeing him! I was a big 7th Heaven fan. Also...David Gallagher you are a dead man/wolf. Everyone knows a guest star on VD doesn't last long :P

  6. My thoughts exactly. Which is too bad. I like his acting, and I'd love to see what he'd contribute to the character on a longer run ... but well. We'll probablynever find that out.

Looking forward to seeing him on the show, though. And also, I hope I'll like his Werewolf better than the others ... well, every other Were except for Tyler. I never liked any of them.

  7. We hope. Grim might not be fatal, though against Joseph Morgan it ought to be.
